Rayman Legends is a fifth main title in the original series of platform games. The new Rayman chapter is a direct sequel to the 2011 game Rayman Origins. The game is set in an imaginary world inhabited by both friendly and hostile creatures. The main character Rayman, a shapeless magical being, accompanied by his closest friends is expected to protect the fictional world from evil. The story begins a century after the Origins events. Bubble Dreamers’ nightmares as well as the Magician (both are main antagonists) has grown up in their power, so only awakened after the 100-year sleep Rayman and his friends Globox and Teensies are able to stop the terrible villains. As the story takes place in various locations depending on the game stage, the environment, as well as difficulty, differs from time to time. The gameplay is about completing multiple platform levels, collecting lums and defeating enemies. In addition to Rayman, Globox and Teensies players can assume the roles of several new game characters. Rayman Legends also features a co-op game mode.

This is one of the best and most underrated games on the switch. Crisp and highly detailed graphics combined with plentiful music and a great story make this a must have game. The graphics quality in both foreground and background are stunning with no jagged edges like some other nintendo games, and the music really fits the levels well. There is a ton of variety in collecting lums and teensies to unlock a whole bunch of extra content. The levels themselves are huge and very different, ranging from forests to dungeons to underwater. There are many secrets to discover in each level to collect all the trophies. So I suspect I have a whole new game waiting after the main version is done. All around very well done and seems like it was made for the switch. The levels play super smooth, the only slowdown I saw was for a few seconds in the beginning of the loading screens. An update fixes this if it bothers you, but you have less time then to sometimes collect a heart container before the game starts. This is no kid game, many of the levels are very difficult and will have you pulling out your hair and maybe throwing your switch. But eventually are beatable with practice. You will die a lot in this game, and there is a fail counter in the stats screen if you get curious. There are many checkpoints in each level so dying does not mean you restart from the beginning thankfully. Time attack levels are the worst and very challenging. The replay value is high for some worlds, just depends which are your favorites. Overall this is one of the best games out on the switch now. It even makes use of the touchscreen for an entire world. Definitely worth the price for a masterpiece of a game, especially if you were disappointed that there was no 2D mario on the switch.

Without a doubt, one of my most favorite video games ever. If you've got 4 kids who all want to sit down and play a game together? This should be one of the games on your mind. All the characters play the same, so no one has an advantage (Like in Mario games where Luigi jumps higher, no stuff like that) and the musical levels are an absolute joy. I didn't know I needed mariachi-kazoo Eye of the Tiger until I heard mariachi-kazoo Eye of the Tiger.Art is great, music is fantastic, and it's fast. The only downside in my opinion is the loading times on this version, the loading screens can take a few seconds on Switch, whereas the loading screens flat-out don't exist on certain other platforms. But, then again, those versions don't have the extra multiplayer option ... MoreWithout a doubt, one of my most favorite video games ever. I was not planning on getting this game at release since it is essentially a four year old game that can be found cheaper on every other console (and PC). However, I decided to get it because I had some Best Buy Reward Points that were expiring this week. That along with the Gamer's club discount made this an inexpensive purchase for me.I played a couple levels tonight and have to say, on top of it being fun, its a very good looking game. If you are into platformers then you should like this game. Best part (for me) is that I can play it in handheld mode without difficulty or issues. I only mention this because I'm unable to play Splatoon 2 in handheld mode due to the controls and Lego City Undercover due to getting motion sickness.I've read (on other sites) ... MoreI was not planning on getting this game at release since it is essentially a four year old game that can be found cheaper on every other console (and PC). The loading screens allows you to move your character through a silhouetted "level". They aren't very long (maybe 10 seconds) so IMO, not worth complaining about.

The latest in a long and distinguished line of platform games, Rayman Legends is a great followup to the previous-generation Rayman Origins. Rayman has always been built around finding secrets, but while the original game emphasized gradual skill acquisition and replaying levels to find previously unreachable parts, the newer games create variety somewhat differently, by varying the types and speeds of the levels themselves. This ends up being a great deal of fun, with all sorts of surprises to liven things up.The artwork is still just as detailed and gorgeous, although to my tastes the character art style of the earlier games was preferable to the more recent ones. Legends has a huge amount of gameplay in its main levels, and extras like a bunch of levels ported from Origins help extend the replay value. While the game is still quite challenging, I did find it a bit more approachable than I recall Origins being, and my kids (ages 4 and 7) are both very into it.Very highly recommended!
This is one of my favorite games. I purchased this on the Wii U and again for the Nintendo Switch because it is one of the best platformers out there. The controls are tight, artwork and style are quirky and humorous, and theres a sense if satisfaction when you sequence various platform techniques together. Among my favorite stages are the end of “zones” where the platforminf and level is musically linked to a rendition of a song such as “Eye of the Tiger”. I have collected every collectable in the game but still play periodically as there is new content daily with challenges. An extra bonus is there are some additional levels here taken from some of the best from Rayman Origins. I wish this game had been more financially productive so Ubisoft would be investing in ... MoreThis is one of my favorite games. Rayman, winner of multiple artistic and musical achievements, is coming to Nintendo Switch with Rayman Legends Definitive Edition. Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies are off wandering through an enchanted forest when they discover a mysterious tent filled with a series of captivating paintings. As they look more closely, they notice each painting seems to tell the story of a mythical world. While focusing on a painting that shows a medieval land, they are suddenly sucked into the painting, entering the world, and the adventure begins. The gang must run, jump, and fight their way through each world to save the day and discover the secrets of every legendary painting.
One of the most fun, creative, beautiful and challenging platformers that isn't mario. The art direction alone is worth the purchase, but the music and gameplay are both stellar too: tight controls, smart level designs, tons of unlockables, hundreds of varied levels, and a soundtrack that sits with the best of the best. A must buy for fans for the genre or otherwise fans of 2d mario games
I really enjoyed Rayman Origins on the Nintendo Wii and actually already own Rayman Legends on the Wii U, but I liked it enough to double-dip for the Switch version in order to play it again. So many new and fresh ideas were put into Rayman Legends, and that makes it a top tier platformer to me. Also, finding all the hidden Teensies in each level is great, and I especially liked the music stages found at the end of each world. And as a bonus, you can actually unlock about 40 remixed levels from Rayman Origins in this game, which is over half of what Origins had to offer! (so it's like you're getting 1.5 games with Legends). Not to mention the art style and music are fantastic. My only complaint is that the Murphy sections that were originally played using the game ... MoreI really enjoyed Rayman Origins on the Nintendo Wii and actually already own Rayman Legends on the Wii U, but I liked it enough to double-dip for the Switch version in order to play it again. I'm starting by stating I had this game on the WiiU, and I played every inch and corner of it. This "Definitive Edition" isn't all that bad, but it's really not that much a step up from the WiiU. It's pretty much a copy paste of the game, except now, without a Gamepad, you have to play Murphy's areas as they were made on the other consoles. It's really not so bad either. That aside, the game is GREAT! It's a lot of fun, there's tons to do, there are musical levels, and many of the Murphy levels have been placed in a neat little spot (that you can only play in handheld mode), so you can enjoy those areas the way they were intended. The only new feature is the Kung-Foot tournament, and that's not really all that interesting, unless you are into that sort of game. ... MoreI'm starting by stating I had this game on the WiiU, and I played every inch and corner of it. i really liked this. we played as a 4 player. you can be alll these different characters. i like the game. also your all on one screen. so you need to be at the same pace as everyone else. easy to play for the youngsters too. its different to all other games out there.
