For a non-hotswappable keyboard without a removable cable the price is steep, but if you want something that you don't have to mod at all to be decent then it's a good keyboard for both gaming and work. Many Razer keyboards fit similar profiles. RGB effects are nice and the desktop Razer app makes it easy to customise the lighting and create different presets with conditions. I modded this keyboard with PBT jelly keycaps for better lighting effects. The switches are definitely linear but a bit misleading to say silent in the product title. The actuation distance and bottom-out point are like normal linear switches and not silent switches. They are at least pretty nice sounding however, and they're about as quiet as most standard linear switches e.g. Cherry MX Reds ... MoreFor a non-hotswappable keyboard without a removable cable the price is steep, but if you want something that you don't have to mod at all to be decent then it's a good keyboard for both gaming and work. First of all, if you don’t want a loud keyboard, this isn’t for you. This isn’t your sleek quiet office keyboard. This thing is solid. Weighs about 5 pounds. Feels extremely well made. It has 3 height adjustments. One being flat and two being raised. The wrist rest has nice grips on the bottom that keep it very stable. Haven’t seen any slippage out of it. The lights are beautiful with a whole bunch of lighting modes as well as color ranges. Typing feels very nice and the click is satisfying. The only downfall is in order to customize your lighting you must install the razer software. I feel the software is a bit laggy and the file size is large. When your computer is asleep and you wake it up the lighting will be default pink until the software loads your settings. ... MoreFirst of all, if you don’t want a loud keyboard, this isn’t for you. Definitely not a deal breaker but slightly annoying. For gamers, it’s a nice keyboard. You will definitely hear it over a mic though.I bought the pink “quartz” color, and it’s a very nice pale pink. I love it. I have the cyan lights on. So cute! The volume controls are very nice too. A little roller at the top right makes it very simple to adjust volume

Love how it looks and performs...when it's working. When I lock my computer and come back, my keyboard is unresponsive 90% or the time. I have to unplug/replug the keyboard or completely shut my computer down to prevent this. Luckily it's cute enough that I don't mind unplugging it from my dock when this happens, but if I'd known this was an issue, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I'm a programmer and frequently leave my computer running when I step away for a bit, so I have to unplug/replug it at least 2-3 times a day. The only reason I haven't returned it is because the quality is admittedly great when it chooses to work.

I had the blackwidow TE chroma before this keyboard and the key caps are very good and responsive along with having satisfying tactile switches. The colors are nice and pretty, though the all black key caps do block a lot of the light it could be shining. But thats all razer keyboards. The volume scroll wheel is, interesting in its texture but not flimsy. My biggest complaint is the wrist rest being just a hard slab of slightly textured plastic. Not comfortable at all. Not sure why razer dropped the plush wrist rest of my last keyboard. With all that said, pretty good keyboard overall.
I purchased this keyboard when it was on sale. There should be a couple things to consider when you purchase this keyboard. One, it is a mechanical keyboard and Razer mechanical keyboards are loud. Second, Razer has three types of switches for their mechanical keyboards. They are yellow, orange, and green. Yellow is supposedly the quietest and green is the loudest. If you don't like a loud keyboard, then this one is not for you. There are ways you can quiet the keyboard's loud clicks and it does make a small difference in the noise. I put o-rings underneath each keycap in order to muffle the noise the keyboard creates. It helped tremendously but the keyboard is still loud. Additionally, while I type with this keyboard, I hear an echo that comes from inside the keyboard which can be annoying but not distracting enough for me personally. Now for the good things about this keyboard. First, if you type a lot, than this one is for you. It types very well and can be used outside of using it solely for the purpose of gaming. Second, you can customize it and change the colors through an app Razer offers. Third, Razer does offer an option to upgrade the keycaps to their PBT keycaps and they only cost $30. I have purchased these in order to create a more hallowed noise verses a clicky noise. All in all, this keyboard does have many benefits and if you don't mind the noise, I highly recommend it. I love the know that allows me to adjust the volume on my laptop when I plug this keyboard into it.
Upgraded from a older Blackwidow Chroma V1 and I immediately love it a lot compared to the original. The main upgrade was the bare faceplate with the more exposed key switches and keycaps which makes cleaning and maintaining this keyboard significantly easier and quicker. A simple air duster is all you need and no key removal needed or removal of an entire faceplate to get to the underside to shake out more dust and debris. This time instead of keeping with razer green(essentially cherry blues) I went for razer yellow(cherry red) and I love these keys a lot better. I do miss the tactile feel, but the clickiness never bothered me but it did make others annoyed and with me starting streaming it's a lot easier to filter out any noise that these might make compared to ... MoreUpgraded from a older Blackwidow Chroma V1 and I immediately love it a lot compared to the original. But nonetheless a great overall keyboard and I do recommend it
I bought this about 2 months ago and it worked exactly as advertised. The key feel is light, consistent, and crisp. The noise level is low enough it doesn’t bother anyone, but it’s not silent either. For gaming, this keyboard is perfect. VERY fast. But for day-to-day usage, I find the key press effort too light.
I have had this item for about two weeks & got it for work.I chose this keyboard because it has a built in keypad. I was iffy bc I didn’t know how to feel about the clicky noise (I knew from the description it would do so). Surprisingly, I don’t mind the clicks… I will say, I don’t use it during my calls bc it’s loud. The lights can be turned off which is nice. This item was on sale for about $70 - which is about half off.I thought the wrist support was going to have some padding but it’s only plastic. It still helps, it makes a difference to my wrist!I got it on sale for 70$
The Blackwidow is amazing. The keyboard itself is extremely comfortable to use and the receptiveness of the keys makes it perfect for both gaming and working. As an added bonus it has an extremely crisp and satisfying 'clicky' sound that we all love from a mechanical keyboard. Then we move onto customisations. Razer Synapse allows the keyboard to be completely, yes completely, customisable making short cuts an absolute breeze... don't even get me started on the RGB lighting situation because I could be here all day (it syncs with other Razer products which really is the icing on the cake and is also entirely customisable or you can use handy presets). 10/10 would recommend.
I had been using a Razer Anansi for many years, but recently the keyboard starting having some issues where it would skip letters. I am not entirely sure if the issue was the keyboard or Synapse 2, but decided it was time for an upgrade. Decided on this Blackwidow V3 with yellow switches as when I compared them in the store, just liked the feel of the yellow over the green. While I lost my macro keys that my Anansi had, overall I am very happy with this new Keyboard and it does just about everything I need a keyboard to do and I really like the feel of it.
