Obviously Razer makes great premium laptops that always cost more than similarly specced laptops so when i saw the price on this, i bought it immediately. I was looking primarily for a portable gaming and video production laptop. Build quality is very Apple-like in its unibody aluminum chassis. Keyboard is meh. Bit too short of travel on the keys for my taste. The i7 is fine and will handle gaming and production just fine but dont expect Ryzen performance. I am stuck with intel until USB4 or Thunderbolt comes to Ryzen laptops. The RTX 2070 (max q, low watt gpu variant) is plenty of horsepower that compares to a 3060 level of performance and is capable of handling most games. So if the build quality, CPU, and GPU are great why the low marks? The RTX 2070 (max q, low watt gpu variant) is plenty of horsepower that compares to a 3060 level of performance and is capable of handling most games. So if the build quality, CPU, and GPU are great why the low marks? The OLED screen. While it is vibrant and beautiful when consuming media, this is not a gaming screen for multiple reasons. I knew going into the purchase that the 2070 max q was not able to run games well natively but figured between the excellent DLSS and low settings I could get 30FPS at least in more demanding games. I was able to get "playable" but not ideal performance but the screen ruined any gaming attempt as it does not include any adaptive sync (Gsync, freesync) so you are forced to use V Sync which puts an additional significant strain on performance. If you are buying this for even light gaming, beware, you are in for either a screen tear mess or low performance with V Sync. I also had an issue where the screen would randomly flicker and turn off momentarily. I returned this item and I am waiting on a 2060 model with 144hz adaptive sync screen. I would recommend the same.

If you are looking for the best performance money can buy, this is it.Some positives:Battery: I get about 7 hours when I'm just using it for Office, email, Internet, and watching videos. I always have it plugged in for gaming so I can't comment on that.Speed: The best performance by far.Temperature: When using it for standard work, if maintains a cool temperature of around 45C even when sitting directly on a desk. When gaming, in order to maintain a cool temperature, a stand is a requirement. Without a stand, the temperature is around 90C, but with a stand (and not a cooling pad), the temperature when gaming is around 65C.Fan: Noise is on par with any other gaming laptop.Screen: Beautiful 4K OLED which is what you would expect. As with positives, there ... MoreIf you are looking for the best performance money can buy, this is it.Some positives:Battery: I get about 7 hours when I'm just using it for Office, email, Internet, and watching videos. I don't know if that is a design flaw or just the fact that it is an OLED. The 4K is great, but it makes everything including text very small using the standard settings. Not a problem but it takes getting used to and is personal preference.Keyboard: Not the best but ok after you get used to it. The touch pad is bad and not at all sensitive enough even on the most sensitive setting so I find myself having to tap it rather hard. There are no dedicated Home, End, Page Up/Down keys but the Fn + Arrow keys do the job instead. I wish that was documented. Now the really bad news. I had the laptop for only a month and had two major problems. The keyboard stopped working and a BIOS update broke the video. I have never dealt with worse customer service than with Razer, about the worst in the industry. Called them about this and they were not able to help me other than suggest I dispose of it and buy another model directly from them instead of through a retailer. Best Buy was great and let me exchange it for another one after a month of owning it. So far I have had the second one for several months and it has been problem free. This should have been 5 stars but I am deducting one star because of having two unrelated problems within the first month, and for their horrible customer service not being able to fix it and suggesting I dispose of a new $3400 laptop and buy one from them.

Razor has always had the best gaming laptops combing portability, power and style. You would not be embarrassed using this in public, you can turn off the logo rgb also for even more stealth. Personally I prefer the mercury white line but picked this up open boxed which dropped it low enough to fit my budget. I was worried it might have issues or be beat up but after a very deep inspection inside and out, this looks brand new. I only have a few gripes which are more on Razor than Best Buy.1. Ram is locked at 2666 right now until a new bios is realized to enable xmp. My 2018 Razor had this enabled so kind of a downgrade for them to reduce the speed.2. Battery life of course sucks, Razor should come up with a way to disable battery overcharge to increase life. Most people will always use this with the charge for max power but would be nice to run off battery from time to time. Razor battery bloat is real and has been a problem in their line for a long time.3. WiFi channel issues, this is due to how Razor ran the antenna you may get screen flicker on certain channels. Annoying but the work around is to change channels until you find one that will work for your setup area. For the cost of this laptop this shouldn’t be an issue in the first place.Since this is a very premium and expensive laptop do your own research, overall I love this laptop but there are weird issues that were not a problem in my older model but are in this 2021 version.

I've tried this laptop twice and it has a beautiful display, but both laptops had problems out of the box. The first laptop had problems whenever I would launch Nvidia GeForce. As soon as I would open GeForce the computer would slow way down and get glitchy. I would click on something and it would take around 5 seconds for the computer to register the click. I uninstalled GeForce a couple times, and even reinstalled windows, but nothing worked. I returned the computer and waited a couple of weeks and then reordered the computer again to see if maybe I had just received a lemon. The second one I received had the same problem with GeForce as the first one did, along with restarting issues and the screen would not dim. Everytime I needed to restart the computer for an update the laptop would restart and then the keyboard lights would come on but the display would not come on, it would just stay dark. I would have to hold the power button down and do a hard reboot to get it to restart. The display brightness would also not dim. The display is beautiful, but when working in a darker setting the display was so bright it would hurt my eyes and start to give me a headache. I'm not sure if this is a Windows issue or not, but all drivers were updated and I even looked online and tried all the fixes I could find, but nothing worked. I made sure all of my driver's were up to date and even reinstalled windows again, but nothing fixed the issues above. So sadly I had to return it a second time.I know Razer can make a good laptop as my daughter has a 2020 Razer Blade 15 Base 2060 model that has worked flawlessly for the last year for gaming, video editing, school work, and streaming. The problem is that Razer has QC problems so you have to make sure and look everything over closely when you first purchase a laptop to make sure you don't get stuck with a lemon. For this reason alone your best bet when buying a Razer is to buy it from Best Buy, Amazon, or the Microsoft store so you can return easily and get your money back quickly in the event you have problems and need to do a return.
I purchased the Razer Blade 15 Base from Best Buy as "Used, Satisfactory" for a good price. The laptop is sturdy, well built with a metal body and a very beautiful 4k screen. It has plenty of ports and everything connects perfectly from ports to wi-fi to bluetooth. I have tried it with high end games as well as multiple graphic design (PhotoShop, Indesign, Fresco) windows open and it is very fast ad responsive. The only thing I have ugraded so far is the storage, I added a second SSD on the open M.2 port as 512 GB of memory is not as much as I would like. The process was just a matter or a few screws, unplugging the battery and plugging in the SSD. It could not be easier. The included 16 GB of RAM work very well, though that is something that in the future I would ... MoreI purchased the Razer Blade 15 Base from Best Buy as "Used, Satisfactory" for a good price. The process was just a matter or a few screws, unplugging the battery and plugging in the SSD. It could not be easier. The included 16 GB of RAM work very well, though that is something that in the future I would likely be upgrading (it can use up to 64 GB of RAM). This is not the latest model out there and I have read a number of reviews that critique the rtx 2070 Max-q. This is a mobile version of the graphics card and the new generation apparently is better, I'm no expert. The only thing I can say is that for me it has worked very well. Games play smoothly at the highest graphics. Though I am not one to measure frame rates or anything like that. A few things to note: The all metal body, when gaming gets hot. Really hot, as in, it will burn your fingers hot. Other users have recommended cooling pads for gaming, I have elevated the laptop from the table to allow more free flow of air through the computer's cooling fans at the bottom, that has worked pretty well. I also tend to use a gamepad or mouse/external keyboard for more comfortable gaming. Also, as beautiful as the screen is, it is 4K at 60hz. Even at a lower resolution all you will get is 60 hz because that is the native refresh rate. The screen is also glossy and has a lot of glare in daylight. Finally my one real disappointment with the purchase, I thought I had lucked out with a perfect looking, if used, laptop. Then I opened a white setting screen and saw it: burn in. There is an Xbox Gamepass ad as well as the computer info indelibly etched on the screen. It is really only noticeable in a light screen but I have noticed it when playing games with a bright daytime setting which is annoying. This is something that really should be clearly advertised when selling the computer. I expected scratches and some grit, not burn in on the screen. But it was a great deal so I kept it (over $600 savings from new). The burn in is not that noticeable under normal circumstances (I am including a photo) And my graphics design and digital artwork, I tend to do in an external tablet monitor anyway. Obviously this was a floor model that was left on for hours on end on thee same image, however, it should be noted that burn in is possible.
My favorite Windows Laptop I have owned. I just came off of an XPS15 with all the bells and whistles, and it was a wonderful machine. This laptop, however, really is a much better fit for the things I use it for daily. Yes, it is expensive, but worth it for the work I do.As a professional photographer and designer, I am in love with the screen. It is the best in a laptop I have used on a windows platform. The brightness and colors are perfect, and I don't have any issues when things go to print as can often be the case. I forget it is a touch screen and am very happy with the battery life considering that. The other main advantage over the XPS15 is the ports. I know USB-A is seemingly dead, but there are still plenty of peripherals that require it. Also, the ... MoreMy favorite Windows Laptop I have owned. Also, the integrated HDMI is better for presentations and using a second screen than having to carry a dongle around. The keyboard is pretty good considering the design. I have had a better keyboard on an expensive Precision machine, but this one has nice response and good spacing.Gaming is pretty good on the unit but just remember the refresh rate on this spec is only 60HZ, so if you are looking for the ultimate machine for gaming, might look at a different spec. The on-board sound is OK, but it is a laptop, so just don't expect anything mind blowing here.
I bought this in the fall of 2021. I needed a machine powerful enough for software development and PC gaming. This fit, though I might have chosen a slightly lower end model if we hadn't been in the tech shortage. What I like about it is that the RTX 3080 mobile GPU is powerful enough to play games at 4k and the machine's screen is 4k OLED 60 Hz touch panel. This laptop is pricier than the 3070 models they had BUT the screen is of such a quality that I can use it as a portable TV.Also, Razer made this laptop upgradeable, a sadly rare feature today (*cough* Apple). I swapped out the included 32GB RAM for a 64GB kit and was able to add a second Nvme ssd bringing total storage from 1TB to 3TB.A drawback to this model is that it is Intel 11th gen and draws a lot of ... MoreI bought this in the fall of 2021. If I had been able to wait until early '22 I could have gotten a 12th gen model w/3080 Ti.No regrets. This machine is used for gaming & entertainment by me away from home and by my kids for school and fun at home. We'll make use of it for a long time.
Straight from the box, the laptop feels premium. Beautiful metal chassis and has one of the best build quality among gaming laptops. It runs most games with ease but can be toasty to the touch. A cooling stand/pad should alleviate most concerns. The OLED 4K screen was a huge plus - the display was crisp and color accurate, which was what I needed for photo editing work.6 months in however, the laptop started to have BSODs. This is when the issues started coming in. It would automatically shut down regardless of what you were doing on the laptop. After weeks of trying to figure out the problem, I came to the conclusion that the stock SSD was failing. How it started failing only a few months after purchase is beyond me. After weeks of trying to figure out the problem, I came to the conclusion that the stock SSD was failing. How it started failing only a few months after purchase is beyond me. It was a hassle to pinpoint the problem, not to mention buying a new SSD (adding onto the premium of what this laptop originally cost). This was an expensive laptop and I expected more from it. I spent more money on top of the original price just to supplement and support it, when most of these things should have been a given.Maybe I got a defective unit, who knows. I would have recommend the laptop, if not for the issues I encountered.
I do tons of 4K RAW video editing and was looking for a laptop which can smoothly playback real-time frames and render at high speed. Don't get me wrong on why I choose this laptop for content creation. Believe me, I have purchased 10 different laptops including the latest MacBook 16" with 5600M, Asus M16, G14, G15, MSI 15 and bunch of others within 2 months and not single one has provided me with required power and feel to it.At first I was skeptical to buy this model because it has been barely reviewed by the youtubers. It weird that how youtubers who review bunch of other laptops and benchmark them for content creators miss this one which is specifically designed for content creation. It's kind of annoying though. So, in spite of all the confusions, I decided ... MoreI do tons of 4K RAW video editing and was looking for a laptop which can smoothly playback real-time frames and render at high speed. It's kind of annoying though. So, in spite of all the confusions, I decided to purchase and give it a try. I don't play much games except FIFA once in awhile so I don't care about gaming benchmarks. So now talking about the laptop, the design and built quality is totally amazing. This is probably the most beautiful laptop I have purchased in terms of how it looks. Even beats MacBook Pro 16. I don't know why Razer does not make this color available for their other laptops. You can barely notice any fingerprint and seriously you'll get addicted to it's look when you start using it. So, I updated all the windows thing and all the drivers. The 4k OLED screen is amazing & feels good to work on it but the flickering issues are too visible and put you out. For me it's not big of a deal. Everything went well until I started editing 4K.The laptop get's so hot within 2-3 hours that you can barely use the keyboard. Then I started doing more research and found out that razer blade battery gets bloated under 1 year of use because the battery area also get's heated. Come on! And the power delivery when rendering 4K video is very low. MSI creator 15 (I returned MSI 15 because it's fan noise is loud is crazy loud) with RTX 2070 can render my sample test under 3 mins while this laptop took almost 15 mins. I simply don't get it. It's the same test. The Asus M16 and G14 2021 for that matter also took same 15 mins.I'll still keep the laptop and do more test before my return period ends. Hopefully. I'll be able to convince myself to keep it but we'll see!
I'm going to be 100% honest with all of you, please don't waste thousands of dollars on a laptop just because you think it looks luxurious. I owned a Razer Blade 15 oled and the latest one. At first, I was pleased about it when I first spent 3 thousand dollars on the computer brand I'd always dreamed of having when I used to be a teenager in 2017(I wasn't able to afford it back then). I was impressed with the chroma keyboard customization back then. Later, after I got the razer blade 15, it was such a glory at first, but I later realized how poorly the battery life is after 2 days when I hardly used it. Seriously? 6 hours, it only lasted less than 2 hours to me and it heats very quickly even when I put it in optimus mode. The battery wasn't enough so I can bring it ... MoreI'm going to be 100% honest with all of you, please don't waste thousands of dollars on a laptop just because you think it looks luxurious. Seriously? 6 hours, it only lasted less than 2 hours to me and it heats very quickly even when I put it in optimus mode. The battery wasn't enough so I can bring it to school. Not only is the battery the worst issue, but it also got unsatisfying features on the Synapse, screen is annoying to clean when it gets filthy, the sound quality isn't impressive, it's design is nothing special but continues to downgrade over time, the razer's customer service was critical, and looking back to see the criticism about the blade 15 just made me lost my courage. I just felt defrauded by razer I ended up returning it. I ended up heartbroken that I had to retreat to the PC brand of my dreams until I was introduced to another PC brand that offers a way better advantage, ASUS ROG. I ended up getting the Asus Zephyrus g15 and honestly, I really loved it in the end. I was able to easily enjoy my beautiful experience to this gaming laptop, Asus Rog got friendly service in case I got problems with my computer, the price of the laptop is cheaper, the warranty is cheap, and it got a lot of amazing features to RBG keyboard design, and specs what the Zephyrus had what razer blade doesn't. Thank god I saved my wallet and let this be a lesson to my story. Don't judge how good a gaming laptop looks before you get to know its true colors.
