I have had the Blade 18 for several months now and while it is a big, hefty machine, I love using the thing. The 18 inch screen is gorgeous (mine did have a single dead pixel but I surprisingly don't notice it anymore) and games look fantastic in it. It runs games almost as well as myachine at home and the 16:10 accept ratio is very nice for general use. I use it for some streaming and rendering videos and it works fast and efficient. This Laptop looks and, more importantly. feels study. There's no bend in the screen or body when you apply force, the keyboards doesn't feel fragile or thing. Solid construction. Easy to Undervolt and Overclock if you know what you're doing (watch some YouTube videos if you don't, its a lot easier than it sounds). Once done, this thing is a monster. Playing Crysis Remastered at max settings and resolution, consistent 100 FPS throughout. I'll stop short of fully recommending this for the price. If all you want is a gaming rig and don't care about portability, you can buy and even more powerful Desktop for the same price. If you want a powerful Desktop replacement machine that you can take with you and game where ever, then get this.

I’ve had this laptop for over 2 months now and I can surely say razer got it right with this one. I’ve had previous issues with thermals with smaller form laptops, I.e. the 14’ and 16’ with burnt out cards.But the extra fans on this larger 18” form handled the new heat intense 4000 series graphics very well. Razer should really be advertising the 18’ laptops as their main preferred heavy gaming+task intense laptop because software alone will not fix thermals and heating issues with some of their 4000 series smaller form laptops!It’s a beast, handles everything I throw at it. Graphic rendering, editing, 3d modeling, gaming, crisis 3 etc you name it. I remember the days when integrated graphics in the CPU and a dedicated chip would cause all kinds of headaches for users, and with this it seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur. Switching between Optimus and dedicated graphics on this model is not on-the-fly; you do need to reboot after each switch. And it does trip off BitLocker hardware change monitoring, so you will need a BitLocker recovery key if you utilize that.Why I would take a star off this one is two major points: the price tag and the battery. I had some reservations about the 4070 8gb in the long term on that laptop for AAA titles in the near future (also only having 128 bit memory bus just bothered me... thanks Nvidia). I bought the Razer Blade 18 and and ran all kinds of benchmarks on both. The 13950hx is a monster, but for it to fully spread its wings, it does need some minor undervolting. There are a lot of videos about this on youtube if you are looking on how to do this. The cinebench r23 score went from 28,000 to 32,000 with a minor undervolt. I ran 3dmark benchmarks and it matched my itx build with a 13900k and RTX 3090 Kingpin (full custom loop) without any crazy overclocks on it. Ultimately for me, the reasons to go from the Asus to Razer Blade are these:Non Gamer look (baring the logo on the lid)Aluminum body5 mp camera that also supports windows hello18 inch screen with very little borders6 speaker setup that is way better than the Asus laptop13950hx on battery save and intel gpu gives decent battery life for browsing only (around 4 hours)RTX 4090 (shoulda been called 4080 as that is what it was based off of, but can't stop that Nvidia marketing train)The Cons of this System:An 18 inch laptop without a keypadCame with windows 11 Home (the Asus came with PRO). Windows 11 Home will let you encrypt your harddrives with bitlocker encryption but not manage them from bitlocker management without Pro license, I ended up upgrading it to Pro.Razer doesn't offer current Ryzen processors in the current blades, would have been nice to have the choicePrice - This is the the biggest one. This is the most expensive laptop with a 4090 in its class. For the cost you would expect more than 1 year warranty, windows 11 pro, keypad, or some extra swag, etc. Also would have been nice to see Razer go the Liquid Metal cooling on the processor to go with their vapor chamber. The asus had Liquid Metal on a much less expensive product.Ultimately, if you are looking for a maxed out machine that doesn't scream "Look at me I'm a Gamer!" this is it. I think some people might complain about the 13950hx processor not being the top , but the difference between it and the 13980hx is less than 6% in most benchmarks and cooling that would most likely have more adverse effects on this well balanced machine.

Luckily was able to return since had 2 month return policy.I am honestly not sure why critic reviews are really good for this laptop. Perhaps they receive good review units. Or they do not use this laptop for a long enough time. I cannot believe a $4,000 laptop has such poor reliability and that Razer has poor laptop quality control. Please do not buy because I had 3 of these laptops and cannot be coincidence to have so many faulty units.
Amazing build quality, crushes every game, and I'm using it for work 10 hours a day. Brutally expensive, yes, but it fit my use case (perma on the road). MicroCenter support/sales team were super helpful getting me the order in time - I was only in-country for a few days and they got the shipment out super fast and in great condition.The display is a huge and beautiful, keyboard is good (though I use an external), trackpad is huge, and has great speakers for media consumption. No keypad will matter to some and not to others. Your choice.It's surprisingly light and nimble for a desktop replacement, powerbrick is smaller than my old Alienware's, and again the build quality makes me extremely happy.
