Razer Deathadder Essential - Right-Handed Gaming Mouse

I had been looking for a gaming mouse with a sleek, clean design without so many buttons, this is by far the best one. There are 2 easy to reach thumb buttons, 2 DPI adjustment buttons and a strong scroll wheel with notches to avoid accidentally scrolling. There are two grips on the right and left to have ultimate control when holding the mouse and moving it quickly without slipping. I love that the left and right click buttons are curved to allow better control and faster clicking. The only downside to this mouse is that it is quite light at 105 g / 0.23 lbs. Crashes Your Computer!

I have a 4 month old, "best of the best" home-built system running up-to-date Windows 10. I installed this mouse and allowed it to install the Razer software. This immediately introduced a very reproducible freezing issue with the entire PC. Disconnecting the mouse didn't fix it. Removing the software and the mouse did resolve the issue. I've used Razer products for 20 years and always rated them 5 stars. This one is trash. I'll also note that it's a very awkward size. Again, I've liked my razer mice from the very original Boomslang, but this one is built for people with ogre hands. I'd avoid it.

Good Mouse - Horrible Software (and practices)

It does what it is supposed to do. I am not the biggest fan of it now that I picked up my Redragon but I keep this as my backup for when I'm traveling or need to troubleshoot someone else's computer.The most annoying thing is the fact that it install so much software for no reason. Literally starts installing crap as soon as you plug it in. I've never had a mouse be so intrusive. I won't ever purchase from them again but the quality and ease of use is A+ after you get passed the software crap.

Great mouse, does the job and doesn't inconvenience you past the first 30 minutes when you're setting up and getting cozy.I lovingly held onto a mouse that came with a GAMDIAS keyboard when I bought my pre-build computer, but after about 5 years it was time to let go of a mouse that would right-click when it felt like it and not when I needed it to. I play a lot of video games and everybody I talk to is always telling me I need a mouse with its own numpad and special buttons, and believe me, you don't. If you like gaming and want a good mouse, this does the trick. Forward and Back buttons on the side for easy web-surfing but aren't in the way when you're holding it normally. There is no DPI button on this mouse. If you're not sure what that means, basically some mice have a little button below the scroll-wheel that you can push in, and it'll change your mouse between a handful of settings that changes the speed of your cursor as you move your mouse. Not this one! So if you buy this mouse, and the cursor is too fast (it was for me), or you ever want it to go faster for some cool trickshot you're watching tutorials for, you can't do it offline. When you first plug in the mouse, it prompts you to install their company software, and you can use it to change the DPI, the dimness of your mouse, etc. The only trick is that it really struggled to download for me, the application refused to open countless times, Googling showed me other people have had the same problem, and even my friend I was complaining to told me he had a Razer mouse and had the same problem. It was crazy. I eventually got it to open after a lot of uninstalling and reinstalling the software, but it was a big hassle for me and it shouldn't have to be. Once I got this done, I've loved this mouse for months. For this, I recommend it completely, 5 stars. Good mouse!

Great for Office and Gaming Use

I primarily use this mouse for office work. But I do play FPS games on my PC with this mouse and it works great for that too. I'm a man with average sized hands and it fits nicely. I am coming from a more expensive gaming mouse that was much lighter but it started to suffer from inadvertent double-clicks after only single-clicking. Needing a new mouse, I went on the hunt and found this mouse that suited my dual role requirement of office and gaming use. Couldn't be happier with the decision and would recommend it to those who need a reliable mouse that has the precision you need for gaming as well as the comfort for using it primarily for office work.

High quality, higher performance!

When I received this DeathAdder Essential Razer mouse, I almost thought it was a new cell phone. Lol That’s how nice the box was, you could really tell it was packaged with quality and care. Which says a lot about the product inside, believe me. I got this for my 18 year old daughter who loves gaming on her laptop, so she was very excited when it came. And it did not disappoint! The mouse glides so smooth for epically precise gameplay. The ergonomics of it makes it fit like a glove in your hand. It really is a beast of a mouse! She absolutely loves it, so thank you! I don’t care much for tech/gaming stuff, but if my almost unpleasable daughter loves it…definitely worth your money!

Poor quality

mouse roller screech, like plastic rubbing against plastic. It happens within a week I use to mouse. Besides the irritiating screech, the mouse is OK.Been a Razer user for many years, and I don't expect poor quality from Razer. I got this to replace my other Razer mouse, which is suffering from double click issue after about a year of use. Those mouse used to last a few years before having issues ...

Squeeky as a mouse

I generally love these mice and bought another to replace my previous one. Unfortunately, the new one squeaks like CRAZY. Going to attempt a manufacturer replacement, but overall I do feel like this product has received a number of costs savings for the worse. Quality control, obviously is now in question and they replaced the nice braided cable for a cheap, sleek plastic one.
