THX Spatial Audio seems more like marketing jargon for sound trickery. It sounds a bit artificial and is no replacement for a 5.1+ surround setup.Presentation is top notch as with most Razer gear, but it will ultimately be tossed never to be enjoyed again. The 2 speakers are much larger than expected and they come on non removable/adjustable stands so they are meant to be placed at a certain level from your head so they can fire directly toward your ears. My current desk setup with multiple monitors doesn't allow me to place the speakers on either side so I have them on shelves above my head so they fire over my head. Not optimal but they still deliver excellent sound and I rarely have my volume up above 30-40%. The V2 X does not come with RGB which was fine by me but if you are chasing more RGB you will need 2 move up to the 2.1 system. I would've liked to have seen the Control Pod be included with this setup and not have to be a $50 add on. But I do have volume control on my keyboard. If the control pod drops down to the ~$35 range I may give it a go. The control are a button press volume up and down and a power button. A smooth volume dial or even a touch slider bar would have been a nicer feature, but I guess that's they you the Control Pod is $50.Connectivity options are USB C to the back of the speaker and USB A to PC or Playstation 5 as well as Bluetooth. Both connections work well and switch easily. I like being able to switch 2 my phone to play music on the room speakers when I'm not on the PC.Overall, I am happy with the speakers and more than satisfied with the sound but the slightly larger than expected size, non adjustable/removable stand and lack of Control Pod being included keep this from being a 5 Star product for me.

The audio out of these speakers in fantastic. I have been on the lookout for a 2.1 gaming speaker set up that sounds good turned up, but also sounds great and is still audible at lower volumes for when I'm gaming late night, my family is asleep, and I don't feel like wearing headphones. So far this system fits the bill. The sound is awesome and these fellas get plenty loud without any distortion. From music to movies and most importantly games, the sound does not disappoint and the bass is deep and rich. At lower volumes the clarity is not lost either so I can hear all the cheesy and lame one liners from my latest RPG adventure. Also, the lighting on my white walls at night is exactly what I was hoping for. The lights are bright and change based on the music or game ... MoreThe audio out of these speakers in fantastic. They connected via Bluetooth immediately but then I decided I wanted to try customization for the RGB. I plugged them in via USB-C and downloaded the Synapse software. This is where things went bad. The speakers would not connect in the Synapse software via USB-C. So I updated my PC, driver, and the firmware for the speakers and then they would not work via USB-C or Bluetooth. So I started a chat with customer support online. They were available and quick to respond, but started throwing out seemingly random solutions without giving me any time to try anything they were suggesting. Anyway none of those worked and I got disconnected when restarting my PC. Turns out that the issue (that I discovered) was the speakers were disabled deep in my PC sound options, so customer support didn't really help at all.Despite the set up issues and the fact that the speakers themselves look like the hoppy pixar lamp, I am really enjoying the system and would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their PC sound.

They come with a USB type A to USB type C cable for those who want a wired connection to their PC but you can also connect the speakers wirelessly over Bluetooth. This really comes in handy if you choose to connect the speakers to your PC with the included cable while also having the ability to connect your phone to the speakers via the Bluetooth connection. It should be noted that the type C end of the included cable connects to the back of the speakers while the type A end connects to your PC so make sure you have the appropriate port available if you plan to wire these to your PC.When it comes to performance, I really love the way these speakers sound. I especially like using the THX Spatial Audio which delivers a surprising surround sound feel when enabled even those this set only comes with two speakers. To turn this on, you simply have to download the free Synapse software (which is also the software to use if you want to customize any of the sound settings).Overall, the Razer - Nommo V2 X Full-Range 2.0 PC Gaming Speakers are a great set of high-quality, high-end PC gaming speakers and I highly recommend them!

TL;DR, The Razer Nommo V2s for me at least, had a significant upgrade to the sound quality to what I was using and I am so happy with the clarity improvements, bass improvements, and "surround sound" improvements.Long story long, these speakers made my PC listening experience so much better. Setup was super easy and simple. It needed power, a USB connection to your PC and a cord to the left speaker. Done. After a few, Razer Synapse pops up asking to be installed. At first I opted out of the Razer Synapse software, I didn't see how it would enhance my experience, but installed it anyway a couple days later and there was a firmware update to the speakers. In addition to that there were some quality of life improvements with the software too. So I'm very glad I chose to install the software. I like the app specific sound profiles, pretty neat. The ability to swap audio devices by pressing both buttons on the speaker is also pretty neat, especially when I wanna wear my headsets instead and forget to switch it during gameplay. This is a super nice little feature that makes life so much easier. There are some pre-existing sound profiles and to my ear, music sounds the best for well music lol. Offering the right amount of bass and vocal clarity for music. Using the Netflix app on Windows to test out surround and audio profiles, I found that Movie sounded the best, ironically for movies and shows however the differences were more subtle depending on the scene. For example in an anime, if there was no music playing I couldn’t really hear a difference unless I’m really trying to pick one out, and if there was an action scene, I felt like Movie gave me the most impact on the sound as well. And lastly while gaming, movie, music, and default sounded the best. The Gaming EQ preset was just not doing it for me.I ran the same test again but with THX on and I don’t know why, but it sounds funky to me. In movies and games there’s some improvement, but for music, I just don’t like it. Ultimately though I left it on the Music with THX on because profile switching was inconvenient and it could cover most of what I wanted and creating automatic game and app/program profiles for specific content. So for Netflix, it uses the Movie profile, and for some games I care about it does too. But everything else defaults to the Music which is fine for me.As for the build quality it’s great, I like the low profile of the speakers and how they’re upward facing, the feel nice and the rubber feet are quality and don’t slide around all over the place. At the end of the day, these are fantastic for my use case and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Powerful PC speakers pack quite a punch

The Razer Nommo V2 gaming speakers may not be the cheapest audio solution for a gaming PC, but they certainly sound fantastic. In terms of audio quality, I can't think of any speaker system designed for this purpose that I've ever heard that would outdo them. That said, they aren't necessarily for everyone and do require a fair amount of space. The speaker system is a 2.1 system with two satellite speakers (3" full range) and a wired, downward firing 5.5" subwoofer. The two satellite speakers sit on stands at a fixed angle, so you cannot adjust them. They're fairly hefty as well, so you'll need some clear desk space. Setting them up with a 32" monitor required careful placement so they didn't block the screen on my desk. The subwoofer is large solid cube that also contains the power and connection ports: both satellites connect, with fixed length cabling, to the sub, which in turn connects to the PC via a USB cable. The right satellite is the control unit with power. So out of the box, you're up and running fairly quickly. Bluetooth connectivity is also an option as an alternative to wired. The system can be controlled via the Razer Synapse app (you may need to update the app first though). In the app, there are quite a lot off control options available: a variety of EQ presets, the THX Spatial audio settings, specific game audio profiles, lighting (for the RGB Chroma lighting that projects from the rear of the satellite speakers), and power saving settings. The sound quality is very impressive, with a very full and robust sound. I felt that it really added to the sense of immersion, which is of course what you want from a speaker set aimed at gaming. But I also found it equally adept at music and movies too, doing well with my go-to subwoofer test of the tripod emergence scene from War of the Worlds. Games, especially FPS ones like Doom Eternal, especially benefited and helped draw you in.Overall, if you have the space for these (as they are pretty big for PC speakers) and the budget, these are really just fantastic speakers. They look and feel premium in their build and the sound quality matches that look. Especially if you are invested in the Razer ecosystem, these are great, but even if you aren't, they are definitely worth checking out. They have a few drawbacks like the size, fixed stands and cable lengths, but these are minor concerns when the rest of the package is so compelling and sounds so good. Highly recommended.

Quality speakers but room for improvement

It was really hard giving these speakers 4 stars, because I really like Razer products and was looking forward to them. That’s not to say, these speakers aren’t good or not worth the money, they are probably great speakers for most people. For my desktop setup, I wanted to get rid of a bulky sound bar I was using for computer speakers. Even though it sounded good, it took up too much desk space, these satellite speakers are a good replacement size that don’t take up much room.I’ll start with the positives. They sound good, they are clear and can get pretty loud, at least for an office area. Setup is straight forward, no assembly required. It works together with Razer’s synapse software, which you probably already have if you use any of Razers other products. You have different preset profiles that will automatically load based on your selection. It’ll scan the games on your computer and allow you to pick presets for them. Two important things you might want to change: 1. Change the power saving feature to OFF. It was very annoying to have these speakers shutdown after being idle, as they are actively connected to my PC and I had to manually turn them back on. Thankfully there is an option for this, and 2. More than likely you’ll want to switch it from Stereo sound to THX spatial audio. Both sound good, but stereo is more flat/2D sound, where the spatial sounds more full. What your used to or software you’re using, you might prefer the stereo as it has a bit of a cleaner sound though.I’m also a fan of the usb connection. For me, I use my monitor as a KVM and have a desktop and gaming laptop I like to use for gaming, so now not only do my mouse and keyboard get switched to my laptop, but also the speakers which is very convenient for me. I also like the fact that these speakers have Bluetooth capability, options are always good to have. Fairly easy to connect to Bluetooth and it works well, but not sure why they didn’t have the same method for turning on and off Bluetooth. You now have to remember two different methods for this. Now for the not so great things…the initial setup took my computer a couple of reboots to finally recognize the speakers. First the computer itself wouldn’t recognize it, then the Synapse software wouldn’t see them after the computer could. This was for both my computers, even after I installed the latest Synapse software. So expect to do some Synapse updates and probably 1-2 computer reboots before the software detects it. My other disappointment, is while the mids and highs sound pretty good, the bass is nearly non-existent. I know this is not the package that comes with the subwoofer which would normally carry majority of the bass load, but I expected a little bit to come from the speakers themselves. I play first person shooters, and hearing explosions and more life like sound is a big plus. The rear-facing bass must be quiet, that’s even after I bump up the EQ 31 & 63hz up.Finally, this isn’t something I’m knocking it for, but my Razer mouse and keyboard have lights that sync up and match. It would have been nice to have a light ring or some optional light to match the other peripherals, but oh well.Overall, its decent set of speakers, but I think they could have done better. I do like they these are setup to play with computers, consoles, or even smart phones. They have a nice modern look that adds a nice aesthetic to your desk or room. There has been no distortion no matter how loud I’ve played music or my games, and it sounds clean and crisp. However, if you want bass, I’d go with the subwoofer package.

Razer has a real winner in these!

As someone who is a bit hearing impaired I do wear hearing aids. So I don't quite have the normal hearing most folks do, but my hearing, aided with my devices, does provide a very good experience and so, since having got my hearing aids I have tried to find some better sound than my current setup, which is the Soundblaster X Katana Pro sound bar. While this set is not a full step up to the 5.1, or even 7.1, setup that some gamers use, it's a clear step up from a soundbar.I've never really been a huge Razer fan, but I've also not ever held their name against them. Companies like Razer have their serious detractors, many with some valid complaints, but I think that most people just don't like them because most gamers use them, ie the popularity sink that makes ... MoreAs someone who is a bit hearing impaired I do wear hearing aids. Companies like Razer have their serious detractors, many with some valid complaints, but I think that most people just don't like them because most gamers use them, ie the popularity sink that makes people dislike a product. I can tell you that the Razer products I own, including the Wolverine v2 Chroma Pro controller, my Razer mice use in the past and several other peripherals, have all worked wonderfully for me.This product arrives in a really decent sized box, bigger than I thought, but everything inside is very clearly marked and each piece is packaged with obvious care and a premium impression, ala the Apple experience, is one that you get when you first open it all up. It's neatly sectioned into modules, with very basic, but informative and explanative pictures, included, as well as instructions to get it up and going. Plug this into that, ensure that has batteries (the hockey puck, note it comes with batteries so no battery search panic) and lo and behold, it is up and running and working great.Testing it first with music the volume is certainly there, and the stereo separation, is truly amazing, even without THX enabled. In order to use the THX and those Razer effects you must run Razer Synapse and so that may be an issue for many. I cannot run it as I use Banana for streaming but I've been able to replicate the sound changes just using the banana equalizer. You can also just use the Windows panel to make adjustments as well. The lights ont he back are really cool but more or less provide ambience that is cool, it is not going to blow your mind. The music sound, anchored by Rob Zombie, 2Pac and several other types, all sounded fantastic, the best I've ever heard from any PC speakers.Going into Call of Duty, Forza, Diablo 4 and other games and you really can experience just how truly amazing this set is. With an easy setup, quality parts, a premium experience, and fantastic audio, Razer has built themselves another winner. And if you're a gamer, or just someone who loves great sound, you really should check out the Razer Nommo series. A clear winner in my book.

Sleek with Resonating Clarity

Today many people opt for headphones while gaming on their PC, but for those of us that prefer to utilize speakers these speakers by Razer should definitely be at the top of your list. The minimalism paired with the performance definitely set them at the top.Right out of the box I was quick to note actually how large these speakers were. That is not to say they were made of just cheap flimsy plastic as the speakers have a heft to them and a feel that throws off a sense of quality. The speakers give off a sleek appearance with their matte black color that blends in nicely on any desk and gives a sophisticated appearance.Setting these up was extremely quick as well for there is a power cable from one speaker that is to plug into an outlet, a cable to connect from ... MoreToday many people opt for headphones while gaming on their PC, but for those of us that prefer to utilize speakers these speakers by Razer should definitely be at the top of your list. The speakers give off a sleek appearance with their matte black color that blends in nicely on any desk and gives a sophisticated appearance.Setting these up was extremely quick as well for there is a power cable from one speaker that is to plug into an outlet, a cable to connect from one speaker to your PC, and then finally a cable to connect between the two speakers. So overall, there are three cables to handle when it comes to cable management which may deter some. However, it was quick and easy to get everything up and running.Once everything was connected I launched a variety of games, songs, and movies to put these speakers through their paces. The outcome was exceptional as the clarity of these speakers is unmatched even when turning the volume up to higher levels. The bass is the only item where it appears there was some slight lacking though I presume the reason for this is that the intention is for you to purchase the corresponding subwoofer. However, that by no means goes to say you would not be satisfied with these speakers! Two key features I do have to mention are the THX spatial audio and game profiles. With the spatial audio this is more of a surround sound feature geared to 7.1 surround sound, but is implemented here fairly effectively even with just the two speakers. You can definitely notice to an extent the positional accuracy of various sounds. This ties into the game profiles as the spatial audio is integrated into newer games so that these newer titles are built uniquely to benefit from this surround sound.Overall though, some may state that the price is high, but from the build quality and aesthetics to the actual performance of these speakers there is little left to be desired. For those looking for a set of PC speakers that will provide the utmost clarity at any sound level these are a no brainer!

The Razer Nommo v2 Speakers pack a punch!
21 December 2023

I've been using these speakers for about a week now and I have a number of thoughts to share on whether these speakers are a good fit for your setup. The Razer Nommo V2 is a full range 2.0 setup, meaning that it does NOT come with a subwoofer. Even without the sub, the Razer Nommo V2 packs a punch and sound quality is very good. If you are a gamer and want a set of good all-round speakers, the Razer Nommo V2 are worth a look. The full range capabilities of these speakers are on full display when using the equipped THX Spatial Audio, which simulates 7.1 Surround Sound from 2 speakers. It does work, but it is simulated surround sound, and not true surround sound. The speakers are powerful, and loud, maybe a little too loud. It does work, but it is simulated surround sound, and not true surround sound. The speakers are powerful, and loud, maybe a little too loud. Yes, you can reduce the sound volume, but I've basically reduced my volume by like 85% to get to a normal level of sound to use in the evening. The speakers connect via a USB C to USB A cable or via Bluetooth. It's nice to have both options, though I use the wired connection with my desktop. It would have been nice if the speakers were adjustable, but they are fixed. Mine sit under my monitor, but they are tall enough that the tops are extend above the bottom of my monitor by about 3/4".Razer will automatically attempt to install the companion Synapse software to allow you to control the EQ settings and apply THX profiles when playing games. The software is alright, but it's extra software that I really wish I did not need to get all of the features. I get that Razer wants to make it seamless for those that have other Razer products to control everything. The other "feature" that I'm not thrilled with is that the speakers turn themselves off after 15 min of inactivity and then I have to manually turn them back on or there is no sound. This eco mode feature can be disabled in the Synapse software, but I'd really think it would have been nice if the speaker could simply wake up when the PC came out of sleep mode or when sound started playing again.Setup was pretty straightforward, but it wasn't obvious to me how to get the speaker to switch from Bluetooth to wired mode. The manual indicated that the LED would be green (instead of blue), but it wasn't obvious to me that you needed to double tap the power button to get the modes to switch.Overall, I think these speakers are pretty good. The look great, sound great, and deliver a solid gaming experience. The aren't perfect, but the positives for these speakers certainly outweigh the negatives and are worth a look.

Very good performance and great design!

Two speakers and one subwoofer may not seem to be enough or may not seem to be the most impressive set up, something I thought at first but later realized I was wrong. This 2.1 full range audio system has impressed me and exceeded my expectations. In the box is very well packaged and protected the two speakers and the subwoofer as well as the power and USB cables. This model is wired so you have to connect the speakers to the subwoofer, the subwoofer to the pc (or console depending on the case), and the power cable to the subwoofer. When connecting to the PC it is important to download the Razer Synapse app to be able to update the firmware of the device. The app also allows you to configure the sound, select and edit different equalizer presets, configure the RGB light and wireless power saving. The connection is simple, although it must be considered that it will be necessary to have a good cable management because it is a wired device. The configuration from the app is also simple. On the right speaker are located the volume buttons and the power button, the power button is the one used to switch the connection from PC to Bluetooth and also to activate the pairing mode to connect to a device wirelessly. On the back of the speakers there is only the cable that is connected to the subwoofer and the RGB light, there are no other connections or extra ports. The speakers have a cylindrical design supported by a circular base, the material the speakers are made of has a matte finish that I personally like a lot.The subwoofer is relatively small, although sufficient space is required for installation. The connections are on the back, on the sides and front there is nothing, and at the top only the brand logo printed discreetly and in relief, and like the speakers its finish is matte which makes it look very good.Regarding the performance I can say that Razer has put time into this, the truth is that the sound quality is very good and even though I have the speakers on my right and left side, the sound seems to come from different points, something that helps a lot when playing video games. Although the titles that are compatible with THX spatial audio are not many, those that do, such as Cyberpunk 2077, offer a very pleasant experience, there is certainly a difference, it is like more ambient sound. In other games I haven't had the need to use my headphones to hear well the environment or other players, it is a very clear sound and I can easily identify where it comes from. In content playback, whether movies, music, series etc, the sound is still clear and strong, it becomes a more immersive experience without a doubt. This added to the subwoofer that has power and makes the room vibrate, is an excellent combination. In summary, this set of speakers and subwoofer Razer Nommo V2 has enough power and clarity in the sound either in video games or when consuming multimedia content, it is easy to connect and configure, has a very useful app and has a relatively affordable price, also at the end of January razer will launch its Wireless Control Pod that will make the experience even more enjoyable, a well-made product that I can certainly recommend.
