If you haven’t, I would suggest downloading the recommended Razer software that can be used to customize the Viper along with any other Razer peripherals. In the box includes the mouse, USB-C charger and dongle for the wireless connection, instructions and grip stickers for the mouse that you can either install or leave off depending on your preference. Once the mouse is fully charged, you are good to go on most computers that automatically sense new devices and install the appropriate drivers if necessary.Although I’m sure I have become “groomed” and accustomed to the Vipers’ design and ergonomics over the years, in my opinion it just feels more comfortable in comparison to the competition. After previously using other mice, I have noticed my hand will sometimes cramp up over time. With the new Viper V3 Pro, the design and aesthetics are identical to their last V2 model until you look “under the hood”. Being that both models are extremely light, the V3 weighs only 54 grams, you probably won’t notice a difference in the weight. However, once you flip it over to check out the underbelly and begin to use it, you’ll notice how much more “buttery” smooth it feels because of the larger slip pads on the bottom which cover more surface area and make it easier to maneuver. Utilizing the included Razer HyperPolling wireless dongle, which has a true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate, coupled with their Gen-3 optical mouse switches and the Gen-2 Razer Focus Pro optical sensor, which has smart tracking, motion sync and asymmetric cut-off, the gaming competition won’t know what hit them with such precise movement and lightning-fast responses. The other benefit that I almost always forget about, only because I rarely have to do it, is the rechargeable battery lasts nearly 100 hours on a single charge meaning less down time.As I mentioned previously, the Razer Viper family has always been my favorite mouse and the new V3 Pro did not disappoint. I would highly recommend the new Viper V3 Pro, as well as many other Razer products, to anyone in the market for the latest and greatest peripherals and want a leg up on the competition or even as an everyday mouse.

This mouse was designed with the Zowie and Superlight 2 competition. They have almost the exact same shape so it all boils down to materials and behind the plastic. Compared to the DA3 Pro makes sense as its essentially nearly identical except with a few key differences. The hump on thr DA3Pro gives you more control but also more "drag," slowing swipes down on one side. The Viper V3 Pro being symmetrical works only because if you swipe left or right its the same. The Viper v3 pro is definitely lighter and it feels that way. In addition, the ptfe feet is significantly a larger real estate space on the Viper V3 pro, making the glide feel even nicer. The material on the V3 pro feels nicer too. I feel like whatever they did on the V3 pro material has more grip friction ... MoreThis mouse was designed with the Zowie and Superlight 2 competition. Lastly, thr Viper V3 pro is lower but feels like it has the same hump shape as the DA3 pro, but the lower Viper V3 Pro makes it easier to finger grip claw grip, which imo is better for fps games. Against the Viper V2 Pro, its also identical but the internals and the hyperspeed dongle included makes it a good value. FYI the dongle is like $30 or so, making this mouse cheaper than the previous generation if you bought the dongle separately. As with compared to the Logitech Superlight 2, the Superlight 2 even thoufh is extremely similar to Viper V3 pro, I feel like im squeezing the chassis more cause its more indented or somrthing. The material also feels a little too smooth and less grip on the superlight 2 requiring definite grip tape. Overall not a fan of the superlight 2 because of that squeeze feel. Overall you cant go wrong with the V3 pro series DA or Viper. Viper ovviously is the better choice for fps games.

If you prefer, you can use it wired as well.If you look at the specs you’ll find this: Razer Viper V3 Pro Wireless Esports Gaming Mouse: Symmetrical - 54g Lightweight - 8K Polling - 35K DPI Optical Sensor - Gen3 Optical Switches - 8 Programmable Controls- 95 Hr Battery. Overall, this means that this mouse has very good hardware and should perform at professional esport levels for a long time. As far as 8K polling goes, that just means the mouse reports its movements/clicks etc. 8000 times per second to your computer, if you want it set that way. Standard polling is 1000 times per second. The higher the polling the lower latency your mouse will have; however, latency decreases a little less with each bump up in polling. Also, high polling rates degrade battery charge more quickly. High polling rates, while some gaming situations may call for the slightest edge it may give to the player, are hard to notice in ordinary gaming or regular use of the mouse. In my personal use I’ve found that the Razer Viper is lightweight yet not to the point where a breeze will move it where you don’t want it to go – if you’ve used a “gaming” mouse before, you know there’s a line where if it is too light it will bring problems with it. I find the Viper to be just the right weight, yet it moves smoothly and easily on whatever surface you prefer. By the way, I’m an adult male with an average size hand but with longer fingers and this mouse is long enough to fit my hand and reach properly. It doesn’t set high at the top where your palm rests but more in the mid-range so that if you slide a keyboard tray back under your desktop and your mouse is on the tray, it clears the underside of the desktop just fine.My other gaming mouse (mentioned above) for some reason (no matter how I adjusted the response time when clicking the mouse) would often interpret a fast double-click as a single click – really annoying for anything – gaming or general office work. The Viper has operated flawlessly in this and all other regards. I have it set at the default setting for click sensitivity.I use the extra buttons on the left side of the mouse in place of some of the sometimes awkward required keyboard combination keys to execute certain moves in a game. I have a problem with my left pinky finger reaching the left control key so the number 4 button on the left side of the mouse handles this with ease. Same way for the 5th button. While the Viper allows you to use all other buttons in secondary ways (through its Razer Synapse 3 software for your computer) so that you can have controls as if you had a 10-button mouse, I don’t use this feature, but you might depending upon your gaming experience.Overall, this is an excellent gaming mouse with many rave reviews elsewhere. I really like it for the use I put it to and I think you will too!

I'm not going to lie, when the delivery guy handed me the package, I thought it was empty. Opening it and seeing the box inside and picking it up, it still felt empty. That is how obnoxiously light this mouse is. Getting it out, and ready to use, and even now after using it in a variety of games, and general browsing, I can't quite get used to how little this thing weighs. But I am coming off of using Razer's Naga Pro for the last 4 years, this makes that feel like a brick. Now, all that out of the way, I'm not sure the exact market for these Ultralight Mice. I am guessing for better snap reaction speed in twitch reaction style FPS games. Less weight, so less carried momentum when moving the mouse quickly, so less compensation needed to correct potential over movements or something, I'm having the opposite problem, the mouse is so light I am moving too much now lol. Though while I this mouse and the whole Ultralight category might not be meant for me, I do appreciate that people have a preference for this kind of thing. So I have to give credit. The Viper V3 Pro is responsive, the wireless performance is great, and the battery life is way higher than necessary, but since there's no charging cradle compatibility here, I can see why they went out of their way to make the battery life as long as they could within the confines of the weight. The included USB A to C cable is braded and flexible as to not interfere when using it and charging at the same time. Overall, I don't have any complaints with its build as intended. But while using it I miss a lot of the creature comforts my other mice provide. The scroll wheel lacks a left and right tilt, something I am used to and make heavy use of, and the DPI switch being on the bottom of the mouse makes it so you can't change DPI on the fly. The large skates on the bottom of the mouse do not glide on my mouse mat as well as I would like, and I value that above a lighter mouse a whole lot.I think this mouse ticks all the boxes for a good ultralight mouse, and if that's what you are after, I'm sure you will get a lot of mileage out of this one. For me however, it misses the mark by sacrificing functionality I have grown accustomed to over the years with other mice.

Massive refinements and a top notch mouse

Packaged in classic Razer packaging, you will find your mouse, the dongle and a very generously lengthed USB-C to USB-A cable.I love the external design of the dongle that also has a USB-C port and connects to the same cable as your mouse. As a result, you can run the braided USB cable to your desk to place the dongle as close to your mouse as possible. When the mouse needs charging, you just disconnect the cable from the dongle and connect it directly to your mouse to charge.Upon first use, the sensitivity was too much and it was all over the place and I couldn't adjust it to my liking. Looking online, there was a firmware update for both the dongle and the mouse and once applied it worked smooth as silk.I go through a lot of gaming mice but I settled down on a Razer Deathadder V3 wired mouse about a year ago as I really liked the feel and responsiveness to it for playing games. I've been using it for about a year so I was delighted to see the Viper V3 Pro has the same basic design but is just a touch smaller. In comparison, it has better clicks and moves better because there is no cable getting in the way. Pictured side by side, you can see they are very much related.I play Fallout 76 and World of Warcraft daily so I was able to get right in and judge the feel and responsiveness of the Viper V3 Pro compared to not only my Deathadder V3 but my Corsair M75 Wireless and the Viper V3 Pro is the superior mouse no question. It handles much better and passed my flick test with top marks. Moving and aiming is very responsive and for the first time it is on par with wired mice if not superior to most except the best. My only problem now is I'm so used to tugging the mouse from time to time to adjust for the cable on my previous wired mice that I find myself phantom tugging on the Viper but i'm sure this will subside sooner than later.I do not like over complicated mice with all types of buttons and gimmicks and the straight forward functionality of the Viper with just two additional buttons on the side is perfect. It is spartan in the best way. There are also quality of life improvements too and two things I love: One is the Viper doesn't have a slot for the dongle which I appreciate as I prefer the solid ergonomics of the Viper as is. Second is the indicator light on top that lights up when charging or first waking up the mouse to let you know it's ready to go then quietly fades away. The M75 and several other wireless devices I've tried either don't have an indicator light or it stays on the entire time in use which is distracting. These little design decisions go a long way.I consider the Viper V3 Pro the big BIG brother to the Deathadder V3 and it is now my new daily driver.Fantastic!

My new #1 mouse

I've now gone through several different mouse options, including multiple lightweight, wireless gaming mice, and with each one I've had they keep getting better and better. At this point though it seems to be very small improvements, but improvements nonetheless, culminating in what is the best mouse I've had to date in this Razer Viper V3 Pro.First off, it's important to mention for people just looking for a wireless mouse that this is NOT a bluetooth mouse. It still requires a wireless receiver, or in this case a dongle with a separate cable. That's not a bad thing though, this mouse is designed for gaming where speed and performance matter the most, where even the smallest performance advantage can be the difference between winning and losing a game, and a bluetooth mouse just isn't going to keep up as well.As for that performance, this Razer definitely performs. The speed and precision is top notch. So far the only performance issues I've had in games is the human controlling the mouse! Let's be clear, I'm not at the same level as the big pros out there, but having a mouse that's capable like this still, I can still see a slight improvement in my game. Now back to the wireless aspect. With the receiver requiring a wire, that means you can place it closer to where you have your mouse instead of further away or even at the back of a pc. Some people may not even be able to notice much difference, but again, any performance advantage can be a game changer, literally. Also though, you can bypass the receiver too and plug the cable directly into the mouse for a more standard wired setup. This is something you'll need to do anyway once in a while since the battery can't charge itself!Speaking of the battery, Razer claims it has up to 95 hours of life. I honestly haven't even had this mouse long enough to use it that long to see if that claim holds up, but I'm currently still on my initial charge and feel I gotta be close by now. Having a battery that lasts like this is definitely a confidence booster too. Last thing anyone wants is for your mouse to just quit working mid-game.While all of that is great, it doesn't mean much if it's not comfortable to hold and comfortable to use. As I've said, I've now owned multiple different mice, but I've found that I like the Razer products the best and that's what my previous mouse was, a Razer Deathadder. Jumping into this Viper instantly felt familiar. The design is slightly different, but similar enough that the very first time I used this new mouse it just felt right being in my hand. Except at a whole other level. It is amazingly light. I actually put it on a jewelry scale to verify the weight and it actually came in just a hair below the advertised 54 grams! Being so light isn't just nice for quicker reactions and use, but also for less strain over those marathon gaming sessions. Mix that with the slick pads underneath, and this mouse almost feels like it's hovering over the surface.I also like the fact that Razer includes some extra grippier decals. Not everyone needs or even wants them, but it's nice to have that option. I personally don't use them so can't really comment on them more than that.Overall I love this Razer Viper V3 Pro. It is now my main go to mouse, not just for gaming, but also everyday use. Between gaming and also being in software, I practically live with a mouse in my hand, and this makes life so much easier. If there's one negative it would just be the higher price. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you are putting together a new setup, need to upgrade really old equipment, or need a gaming mouse, I think it's worth it. If you already have something that's not that old, unless you're looking to jump into a different grip style, it may not be worth it. As I said at the start, although they keep improving mouse technology, those improvements aren't so big they're a must have. Regardless, if you're looking for a mouse, and quality and performance is important to you, then this is most definitely the mouse I would recommend.

Not as basic as it looks.

The Razer Viper V3 Pro looks like a basic mouse, but it does have some great features that can be easily overlooked. The mouse comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable, a wireless dongle, and grip tape. The grip tape is a great feature, as it makes the mouse extremely comfortable to hold, it also prevents it from sliding out of my hand. I was a little disappointed to find out that the only way you can connect the mouse wirelessly, is with the included dongle. This is called the HyperPolling Wireless dongle and must be connected via a USB cable. The mouse is compatible with the Razer Synapsis software, which allows you to update the firmware, and make some changes to color of the small light on the dongle. The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box, is how ... MoreThe Razer Viper V3 Pro looks like a basic mouse, but it does have some great features that can be easily overlooked. The mouse comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable, a wireless dongle, and grip tape. This is called the HyperPolling Wireless dongle and must be connected via a USB cable. The mouse is compatible with the Razer Synapsis software, which allows you to update the firmware, and make some changes to color of the small light on the dongle. The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box, is how incredibly light the mouse weighs. It’s by far the lightest mouse I have yet to use, it feels like you’re holding just a plastic frame with nothing inside it. The mouse is extremely comfortable, and it fits perfectly in my hand. And with the grip tape installed, the mouse never slips. When it comes to sensitivity, this is where the V3 Pro really shines. It worked on virtually any surface I tried it on, even glass! The V3 Pro has a max DPI setting of 35000 which is insanely fast, this can be toggled from a button on the bottom of the mouse. Razer brings the new HyperPolling Wireless dongle, which is their new trademark wireless technology that gives you accurate lag free gaming. It is extremely accurate, and I didn’t experience any lag at all…But honestly, I wasn’t able to tell the difference between this or any other wireless gaming mouse that I used.As for my overall impressions…From the surface the Viper V3 Pro looks like a basic mouse, but the more I started using it the more I noticed many subtle yet crucial features that make it better than the average gaming mouse. The fact that it works on any surface (including glass), makes it extremely reliable. The rubber grip tape, and the shape of the mouse fits perfectly snug in my hand. The mouse being so comfortable, and light gives me better movement, precision and accuracy. While I do give Razer credit for innovating in new technology, I’m not a fan of the bigger HyperPolling dongle and how you can’t just plug it into a USB slot. This just adds to the never-ending clutter of cables laying around my PC. Despite that little grievance the Viper V3 Pro is a good gaming mouse, and I would recommend it to any gamer.

Super-lightweight, yet fast and accurate

The Razer Viper V3 Pro weighs in at only 54 grams but packs a lot of gaming power inside that deceptively lightweight framert. The sleek ergonomic grip comfortably accommodates my grip style and makes the mouse easy to move and control. Although it feels like an empty shell when lifted, the mouse actually has a solid feel and good balance during use. It feels as normal as any other mouse. Lighting is limited to a sole status LED on the top front. There’s no decorative RGB lighting, which I don’t exactly miss. The mouse ships with a hyper-polling receiver, six-foot braided nylon USB-C to A cable, black grip tape and a sheet of Razer themed stickers. The USB cable is utilized by both the mouse and receiver for charging and PC connectivity. It can also be used to make the mouse wired or charge/use the mouse simultaneously. I’ve only charged the mouse once, using an old phone charger, and it took approximately one hour to charge from 50% to full capacity. I haven’t had it long enough to require a recharge yet, but I’ve been gaming daily for nearly a week and the mouse battery is still pretty full. Battery life is impressive so far, based on that observation. The Viper V3 immediately became a welcomed new addition to my gaming collection thanks to it’s lightweight yet comfortable ergonomic body. It remains comfortable for long sessions and I don’t feel any cramping or fatigue even after several hours of use. The gen-3 switches have solid performance and great uresponse. The scroll wheel has good stability, precise scrolling and no excessive play. The skates provide smooth, comfortable gliding and tracking speed and accuracy are both excellent. The mouse has so far maintained reliable connectivity to the receiver. I’ve never experienced signal loss nor any noticeable latency. Polling and DPI can be adjusted in-app or on the fly if mapped (DPI is mapped by default to the shared bottom power button). Synapse also allows me update both the mouse and receiver, change button and wheel assignments, and more.

I have been a long time Razer user with almost my entire PC eco system from keyboard to water cooling for my cpu. I currently have the Razer Viper V2 Pro Hyperspeed and with the new optical Viper V3 gaming mouse being released, I had to see if it was actually an upgrade. I can be honest, the V2 has had a bug with my system for the past 10 months, I would have to unplug the cable from the PC and plug it back in every time I let my PC go to sleep. The new V3 has already proven to me, the V2 did not like me or my PC.Now, upon opening the small box, I pull out the sensor and then the piece of paper, lol, that is what the mouse feels like. When Razer says it is ultra lightweight, they should have put a label on it that says "We Swear There Is a Battery In It". I honestly thought they forgot the battery in the box, but no, it is just that lightweight. The wireless speed of this mouse when tested with my reaction time was 103 milliseconds on average, the old V2 was just over 120 milliseconds, so there is a definite difference when I am using it, especially when playing FPS games. Please understand that these times were ran with my reaction time on movement speed and button clicks added up and averaged over 20 tests. Compared to my Wired mouse, we are within an average of 5 milliseconds on average, so I no longer need to use wired for gaming when fps versus click and movement speed is relative.Connecting the Viper V3 Pro was an absolute breeze and finally never loses connectivity. I am so happy with that alone, no more frustration. The cord and pickup have a small footprint, basically, invisible to anyone looking at your desk. Razer's software is amazing in there eco system, I really enjoy the ease of using Razer. Yes, Razer is expensive and many people think they are overpriced, but when you have this entire ecosystem under one control, it makes it worth every penny especially with their amazing quality. Thanks Razer for a great new Mouse option!
