Razer Wolverine Ultimate Gaming Controller - Xbox One

We bought the Razer Wolverine Ultimate Gaming Controller for our Xbox Series X console. We stream and are always gaming but our charging docks weren't doing the trick anymore. Nothing more annoying then your controller dying mid game to cost you the match. Now with the wired connection we aren't wasting batteries or going through multiple battery packs. It is also RGB and has a comfortable grip that is good for hours of gaming. If you are a Razer or Xbox fan, you will love this controller! This controller is great for the price and for what it is. It is wired but the cord has great, lasting quality. However, the lights on the controller can be a bit distracting and ive found that the controller will get a bit of stick drift here and there. Not too big of a deal for most games but sometimes it's a bit annoying thats the only reason I gave 3 stars otherwise it's a nice controller. Even has the trigger locks and has the same heaviness as an elite controller.

AMAZING Controller

I do not write reviews on the things I buy, even when they are nightmare purchases. This controller has compelled me to finally review something I have purchased. I have owned many custimizable/paddle controllers (Elite series 1 & 2, PS4 & Xbox Scufs, Fusion Pros v1 & 2, Steam controller, Astro C40, and the steelseries stratus) and let me tell you. The Wolverine Ultimate is the only controller I will purchase for the foreseeable future! The analog sticks are incredibly nice, smooth and accurate to the point where I would turn off aim assist playing on PC and do absolutely fine because micro adjusting your aim is so easy. The paddles are placed in such a way that if you didn't use paddles or were playing something you don't use them you would never touch the paddles and forget that they were there. They are in a spot that paddle usually aren't placed but once you get used to the position they are easily and comfortably pressed and easy to press so you don't have to strain to hard. Big fan of the position of the extra bumper buttons as well. I play ALOT of Rocket League and anyone who has played it knows how difficult it can be to dribble the ball in the air for long periods. Before this controller the longest I was able to keep the ball on my car was 30 secs and I could never touch it again no matter which controller or sensitivity I use. With this controller I blew my record out of the water with 45+ secs the next 4 times since getting used to the controller. Overall this controller is a godsend for controller players and WILL improve your accuarcy/gameplay. Only complaint I have is the configuration app for PC but its still not bad enough to warrant any less stars for this controller.

Better than most

Not quite as good as the Elite Series 2, but it's a solid controller. It's a little big. The back buttons might be a little too far for some. But overall it's a great controller. A definite upgrade from the previous Razer controller, the Wildcat.I've used a number of pro style controllers (elite 2, razer wildcat, razer wolverine v2, powerA fusion 1 and 2, Nacon revolution X) and this is my 2nd favorite. Fantastic controller 10/10

This is a 5* pro controller for sure.. I play a fighting game called brawlhalla on it and let me tell you what. Switching from elite 2 this is a huge upgrade. The is absolutely no delay , lightning fast response. Allows me to jump faster, fall quicker , hit faster . Virtually no delay it's amazing it's like going from 30fps , to 120fps it's that noticable. Yes it's wired but that's what you want in pro controller honestly. I'm a few hours into it and it's a learning curve Because it makes stuff so responsive that if you played with wireless controller you are a bit slow and didn't even know. But the curve is done and now I have a huge advantage because of this. Owning the elite series 2 made my bar kinda high but honestly I have zero regrets owning this controller so far. Give it a go, if you don’t love it bring it back for something else. Simple.

Good in the short term. Bad in the long term

I had fun with it for the first few months of using it, but then it started to fall apart. The A, X,B, and Y buttons started to fade, and my left trigger and button were very stiff. Also had a violent vibration problem, and the paddles wouldn't work. 2 weeks later I can't even click my left button for god knows what. I don't throw or rage at this controller considering its hefty price and it still manages to fall apart even tho it's kept in a case. It may be an engineering problem,I don't recommend it since there are other controllers like this other there that have the same features.

Great PC Controller

I am thrilled I upgraded to this controller. My Xbox One died recently and I made the decision to switch 100% over to PC. Since I no longer need 4 controllers I wanted to invest in a high quality controller. I'm glad I chose the Razer. I got it used on eBay and it has performed flawlessly. Pros: Intense haptic feedback, separate for triggers and body Brilliant, bright lighting with many display options Braided cable Case with space for extra peripherals Mechanical face buttons Synapse for Xbox works well and is intuitive Quick change between two profiles and the ability to make multiple profiles for different games Cons: Controller analog sticks are slippery The body grip isn't great and is slippery despite having texture I have small hands and this controller is ... MoreI am thrilled I upgraded to this controller. FYI it is built so well it doesn't look like there's a disconnect there so I completely overlooked it until I saw a forum post detailing that as the culprit--problem solved The cons are manageable: kontrolfreek grips are on the way--though after researching, you must purchase the PS4 stick covers, not the Xbox ones, since the Razer analogs are a larger PS4 size. Apparently the PS4 ones are slightly small but will fit with a bit of extra pressure. Love this controller. It's served me well on the PC for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Halo since I switched fully to PC.

PC user comparing with an XB Elite...

FPS Gamer on PC switching from an EB Elite — this is my experience FEEL: The Elite feels heavier and sturdier on first impression. Even though the Razer Wolverine(RW) feels a bit lighter and cheaper, I doubt it'll suffer from the long-term construction problems of the Elite (peeling grips, bumpers liable to break). I'd think I 'd have a hard time getting the grips off the RW even if I tried with tools, and the buttons feel very sturdy. I expect this controller will have good longevity. BUTTONS: the ABXY on the RW are absolutely amazing. Feels like a light sensitivity mouse click and feels SO good to press. The RW completely crushes the Elite in this category. The RWs has 6 multifunction buttons, two bumpers tucked on the inside of each trigger(M1&M2), and four vertically oriented paddle buttons on the underside of the controller beneath the battery housing(if it had one). The M1 and M2 buttons are game-changers. When rested over the main triggers, your index fingertips sit right on those buttons. Perfect for "pinging" in FPS games. Unfortunately the M3-M6 buttons are awkward to push, and don't feel great. Their placement and orientation doesn't allow for your fingers to curl into the basin of the controller at all. This straightening of the fingers to keep them on the buttons completely rearranged the posture of my grip and negatively affected my stick control. Huge readjustment that I'm still working through. In comparison, the Elite's removable hinging metal paddles are perfectly placed, and both their tactile feedback and hair-trigger responsiveness completely dunk on the RW's multifunction buttons in a huge way. The D-pad on RW I'd say is better as each button is in it's own housing, and they've got a really nice click to 'em. STICKS: The RW's thumbsticks immediately feel cheaper, lighter and less present than the Elite's. They appear to be aluminum coated, but the interior fittings that house the magnets are plastic, and you can feel it. The RW also includes two extra thumbsticks, one taller(not domed), one domed(regular height). Why they wouldn't give you two of each confounds me. The Elite comes with two tall, two short, and two domed(short) sticks, all metal parts and fittings. They feel sturdy and have a snap to them that just feels higher quality. Elite wins this category. FINAL THOUGHTS: I've only been using the RW for a couple weeks at this point, and it's been a tough switch. My thumbs never leave the sticks when I play, so the benefit of the RW's superior ABXY buttons is a non-factor and I'm left with the inferior M3-M6 paddles. I thought I'd get used to the sticks but they still feel cheap and insubstantial, like they've got no weight or snap to them. My hands still don't feel very natural holding the controller, fingers outstretched reaching for the M buttons. The M1 and M2 buttons have been the RW's saving grace. I really do love them. If they weren't there, I would have gone back to the Elite on Day 1. If I can get used to the other issues and keep the benefit of having those two buttons, the switch will have been worth it. Can't say that's the case as of now.

Pros and Cons

This is bought as a Christmas present. The person who received it was extremely happy. However we did have an issue with it a month after we got it. One of the buttons would stick. Be aware that Walmart's return policy on this is you have to return it to the manufacturer. They do not give refunds on this particular product. Luckily the buttons are programmable so the person is still able to use it.
