I almost forgot what my scalp felt like before my problem started. I would say this duo has already eliminated 70%-80% of the dandruff and buildup I was having, just with the first wash. It is true that the conditioner seems to "disappear" into the hair. As it comes into contact with your hair, it feels like you didn't even put anything on it. I believe the conditioner is what makes the hair feel so dry, like many other reviews have said. I don't really mind the feeling though. I am still overall pleased and going to give this a few more washes before making my final verdict.

After my hair dried, I could not even run my fingers through my hair to the ends because it was that dry. I had to go back out to the store and purchase a Keratin treatment. Since the Keratin treatment, my hair is somewhat back to normal. I just wanted to let buyers beware because if you do use this product, you need to immediately follow up with a treatment to deep condition your hair or it will suffer damage from dryness and split ends from trying to brush it. And don't even waste your money on their conditioner- it's the biggest joke of a conditioner that I have ever used.Sincerely,A healthy head of hair WITHOUT this product.

This product is horrendous. I use redken which is normally brilliant, thought I would try save some money and bulk buy, but couldn't regret it more. Its made my hair more dry, sticky, greasy, my hair literally feels better without using it. What a waste of money!

How it best works for me

When I first used this product I used it by itself. I used the associated shampoo followed by this conditioner. At first I was not totally stoked with the results. I like how this system removes build up but thought it ended up making my hair look dry. However, since I spent money on both the shampoo and conditioner I figured I better find a way to make them work for me. I normally do not leave reviews but thought I would share how I use this shampoo and conditioner in case it helps other ladies use up their bottles and help them feel like they didnt totally waste their money. This little method helps my hair feel clean, remove build up around my scalp and root area, and still allows my hair to look shiny and feel soft. I hope this helps ladies!

I don't know what I just put in my hair...

I have thick, naturally wavy, and somewhat coarse natural red hair and I don't like the feeling of anything in it.I usually wash, condition, blow dry with a round brush and use a light serum if needed and that's it. I used the shampoo and conditioner together and it was a feeling like no other. I went to run my fingers through my hair in the shower as I was rinsing and my hair felt like straw... Like I had just bleached my hair and my fingers got caught on every hair. I decided to let it air dry before forming any opinions and the feeling didn't get any better, only worse. As it dried, it developed a tacky feel and I was unable to run my fingers through it at all. I know I rinsed it all out, so that wasn't it. After it air dried, I grabbed my big round brush and went to town with my hair dryer and it made it feel a little better. Not great, but better. It still felt like there was a buildup of product in my hair, maybe a gel, but my roots and scalp felt clean. My hair had a pleasant mild scent and more volume, which is something I never really have a problem with since my har is thick, but I appreciate. My hair also felt heavy, like it was weighed down, but wasn't... I don't know how else to describe it other than it felt like I didn't get all the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair before I styled it.I bought the large bottles of these on clearance, so I will try them a few more times as I've read other reviews that it gets better with time. I'm not holding my breath though. From my initial use, I'd say get the shampoo, but choose a completely different conditioner.

MAGICAL!! Best conditioner I've ever used!
25 June 2017

I am SHOCKED at how my hair has responded to this conditioner! After the first couple washes, my hair felt a little dry and got pretty frizzy, but starting after using the shampoo and conditioner combo the third time, it's become a DREAM. Not only is my hair now lighter and healthier and has more volume, it's also somehow more moisturized and fewer flyaways than I've ever had and I don't even need to use other products anymore to tame the dreaded frizz!! I assume this adjustment period is because it's micellar water-based.I bought this after an Ulta employee recommended it upon hearing my tale of woe. For the last year my hair has refused to hold color, and upon researching it I realized it's thanks to the silicone and other junk that is in EVERYTHING you need to get that coveted straight silky look; shampoo, conditioner, serum, spray, balm--it is all the enemy!! So I wanted a shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't deposit anything new on my hair now that it was finally clean again (way harder than it seems!), and she recommended this. Never expected it to be such a cure all, to the point that I don't even need a serum or spray to get the silky look now; a teensy bit of olive oil on the ends is all I use now! Straight MAGIC.My recommendation for using this is to not be afraid to scrub and massage your scalp (it lathers up nicely), and for the conditioner, I use the shower stream to distribute it evenly around my scalp and hair as much as my fingers and I make sure the amount I use is generous. Right after washing, it's going to feel like your hair is way dry and brittle, but have faith! Once your hair starts to dry it will come to life, and you'll be left with the inexplicably cleanest yet silkiest hair of your life!

BUT I think I finally found my conditioning answer. I have fine, thin, dry, color treated hair. (yes, I can be a mess) I have always had an issue finding a conditioner that would not weigh my hair down. I bought a travel size of this and the shampoo because it intrigued me. I am glad I did. The shampoo good but the game changer is the conditioner. Just to be sure it was the conditioner I tried it with several shampoos (did I mention I am always on the search for the next great solution). Bottom line, didn't matter which shampoo my hair looked great. I think the secret is this is not a heavy conditioner it rinses out easily (most don't for me) but still controls the flyaway and not sure if it is the conditioner but I notice my hair has shine. I want to open with for years I've abused my hair with heat, bleach & dye until the past three years where I've just let my natural dark (and oily!) hair grow out. And even though I have straight & oily hair (with super damaged, dry blonde ends) I've still been on the routine of washing my hair only once a week (or longer) for fear of drying out my hair too much when I was faux blonde all over... so I thought getting a good clarifying shampoo and conditioner would be my best friend for the times I actually wash it... I like a light conditioner that doesn't weigh my hair down, but gives shine and keeps the flyaways under control. I read a lot of negative reviews about this product, but thought I would try it anyway since I loved the Clean Maniac shampoo. This seems to bond immediately to your hair. It isn't a heavy or creamy conditioner, even though it looks that way when it comes out of the pump. After rinsing, my hair feels soft and conditioned, but no so soft that it doesn't hold a style. Also, I've had problems with a lot of conditioners in that they make my head itch. I have sensitive skin and allergies to a lot of preservatives and fragrances. There is a slight scent to this conditioner, but it's not overwhelming at all, and doesn't make me sneeze or have to use my inhaler. ... MoreI like a light conditioner that doesn't weigh my hair down, but gives shine and keeps the flyaways under control.
