Redken Extreme Cat Treatment 200ml

I love Redken and can trust the brand’s ingredients and claims on each of their products. My hair is extremely damaged from constant use of heat tools, bleach and hair dyes. Using the Extreme Lengths line by Redken has been amazing on my hair, especially their leave in hair treatment. I apply to damp hair after shower and it makes it much easier to detangle while providing sleek hydration that is not too heavy and does not leave any residue. My hair instantly looks and feels smoother, healthier and shinier. It has helped to seal my dead/split ends while also eliminating frizz and dryness. This line has improved my hair health and length! I would suggest that very thin hair types should use a smaller amount but I absolutely recommend this to my fellow dried, frizzed, split and damaged hair friends!

I couldn't even do a cold blow dry on my hair without it curling and frizz itself up and be super dry. But then I went to a good hair salon which recommended me this and my hair is so good now. Now I can even do a normal blow dry even though my hairdresser recommended me to do a cold one just to be on the safe safe (there´s not a point in testing your hair's limit).But be careful to use this too much. Don't use it more than twice a week and make sure to use a deep conditioner afterwards since protein products doesn't make your hair soft, only stronger. If you don't combine this with a good conditioner, your hair will only become stronger, dry and "hard" and then it can also break off.

I have had a chance to try this a few times since I got my blonde retouched. When I get a bleach process done to my baby fine hair it does tend to feel stiff and not a flow and healthy. When I received this in the mail I was so excited to try it. I used it after I used my Redken Color Extend Blondage shampoo and conditioner. Those 2 products alone made my hair feel amazing and soft and it works well through and through. When I put this on my hair and waited a few minute until rinsing it off I couldn’t tell much of a difference at first. All you ave to do is spray it on your hair and wait a few minutes before rinsing it out. It’s something that can be done while you’re still in the shower if you get a good wash system down for yourself. It coats the hair nicely with no tug if you run your fingers through your hair. The bottle seems of great quality as well. It sits on a shelf in my shower that’s at least a foot over my head and it falls off all the time. Not because of the shape of the bottle or anything but because of my shelves. It hasn’t chipped or broken even on the cap. Quality bottle. Great Product

This is outstanding for all hair types to strengthen and nourish your hair. Years ago, I used Redkin's PPT treatment (as reccomended by a local Redkin hair salon). When that was discontinued Redkin introducted Extreme CAT and I have been using it now for many years.I haven't been able to find it (locally or online) for some time now. Turns out that's because Redkin redesigned the bottle. It has just become available by mail order. Being in Hawaii, I want to avoid that and would much rather buy it locally. I have been delighted that my local Walmart has been carrying other Redkin hair products for awhile now and I hope this product becomes available here soon also.

Great for bleached hair

I've used this product off and on for years 10+ maybe now. This helped keep my bleached sun/sea damaged hair healthy. I keep it in the shower and after washing/ conditioning spray this. I will say I forgot how poorly designed this spray bottle is. Once it gets wet you can't keep your hand on it to spray where you need it. I alway go out and buy a trigger spray bottle and poor this in there. Never makes hair greasy.

Knowledge is Power

My advice with this product is, knowledge is power! First, make sure you know your hair type and if your hair needs this type of repair. I have naturally curly hair, I used to be a 3B. But, over the years the curl has fried, from getting older, but also from straightening my hair. I do not, nor have I ever chemically straightened my hair, always blown dry, twice a week. But flat iron every day. I also color my hair myself, usually once every 2 months. With all that, I know my hair could use some intermittent nourishment.Usually my hairdresser throws a keratin treatment on for me, but, it's been a while. I also saw a lot of complaints about what it did to the scalp, I focused on mid to ends of my hair, especially the ends. Squeezed as much water out as possible, applied for 5 minutes. Rinsed and conditioned. No problems at all, my hair felt fine.As I dried my hair, I could tell immediately. Made it a little softer, so some control problems, but nothing ridiculous, the brush slid through without getting stuck at all. Once done drying, my hair was amazing!! I sprayed thermo protector (BTZ Smooth Criminal), used my flat iron.. my hair is even more amazing!! So shiny and soft, but not soft without control. I notice a huge difference in my ends, they don't look fried. I will keep a check on how my hair is each day, I only wash it twice a week and I will use this product once a month maybe.Between reading a lot of reviews, both good and bad and knowing the type of hair I have, I will definitely continue to use this product!

Saved my hair

Use a clarifying shampoo or it won't work. Squeeze out as much water as you can, then spray into hair. A little goes a long way. Then comb through gently with fingers. It should be foamy or it's not working. I used it incorrectly for a while but once I used it properly it was amazing. I follow up with a hydrating hair mask or conditioner. When my hair was super damaged from bleach, I used it 2-3 times a week. Now I use it only 1-2 times a month because my hair is decently healthy. I went from bob length, super fried bleached hair to waist length healthy and soft hair in a few years and my hair normally grows slowly. The bottle actually lasts a while and it's totally worth the price.

My hair was healthy until a bad salon ombré. I've been desperately trying to save my fried hair for a month. This stuff worked so well that I could cry. I took some of the tips from the reviews & used a clarifying shampoo. I followed it with a super moisturizing conditioner without protein. The conditioner just glided through my hair like silk. Then did my usual styling routine. My hair was SO soft and glossy looking. It was almost like I had my old hair back, aside from the fried ends I'll just have to cut off! The biggest thing for me was increased manageability. My hair dried nicer, and when I went to braid it, it felt really smooth and silky and the braid didn't have a bunch of flyaways poking out like before. I'll probably do this once a week. Have used this on and off since my early teens (25 years) especially during the years my hair was processed - color, body wave or both. Always worked great. Don't need it very often since I'm wearing my long straight lt brown hair natural, but it's to my waist right now and needed some damage control. Bought a bottle from Ulta in April and it was just as great as always. Bought another there a couple days ago and Redlen seems to have added a TON of fragrance. It's intense and overpowering. Forget smelling any perfume you might want to wear. This headache inducing, cheap, matronly smell will drown it out. It's miserable. It's been 18hrs since I rinsed it out and it's still INTENSE. Used this, with Anti-Snap, and a deep cream conditioner - many years ago when my hair was badly damaged (melting) from a bad perm. Loved it then, but got away from using it.My hair is fine, waist length, and now its greying. I have been dying it copper red for about 20 years. Ombred it a year back, which created a lot of damage on the ends. I have been trimming regularly, and deep conditioning with a protein deep conditioner (that used to work well for me) weekly, but it was still very rough. Forgot how much I love this.I use mild sulfate free shampoos, you don't have to use the Redkin Extreme shampoo and conditioner line to get excellent results.Also note, leaving CAT on longer than 5 min at a time really does not increase efficiency. If hair is well coated, you only need the protein to attach to the hair shaft, which takes about 5 minutes. Then you rinse. This is NOT a moisturizing treatment, which can benefit for longer wear time, to enhance absorbency.
