Well, i guess we can call this a long term review of sorts. I have had my pair for almost two yrs now. That in itself is incredible!!! Especially for me, as I’m in the building trades. They have been the most comfortable boot I can recall ever wearing. Right up there with my Carolina’s. If i hadn’t welded while wearing them, they would have lasted longer than they have. Nylon doesn’t hold up well to molten steel. And not designed to! That being said, I am ordering a brand new pair and taking them straight to a leather/boot repair store and fixing the one thing Rebook left out……….THEY NEED A HOOP! On the back to help get them on! Only thing i can think of to make them any better than they already are. Excellent boot, even if not made here……

First pair I got was at the PX in Baghdad 2006. They were on clearance because they had side zippers and apparently were not fire resistant. But their lightweight, highly breathable, extremely flexible construction was ideal for that environment. Next set I took to Afghanistan 2009 and 2010. Next set after that 2nd tour of Afghanistan 2013. Zippers hold up well, tough duty boot. Actually ran and did MWR sports in them instead of sneakers. And then.....Having had three different manufacturers produce them over the years, you'd thought they would have addressed the 'not fire resistant ' part. I'm sorry to say,...this boots failing is, if exposed to a source of ignition,... they don't melt, they burn. But, I am wearing the replacement pair as I'm writing this.

This makes the third pair of these I’ve had, the first pair I wore five years, and I wore them to the bones. The second pair I wore for five years before the stitches started coming out on the toe. This pair has a hole in the toe because I’ve been using it to lift parts at work. I could still wear them. They’re just gonna be a good pair of yard boots now. I don’t understand what everybody’s complaining about. They’ve been great boots for me and I put them through heck. I wouldn’t buy anything else.

Received this boot today and am super pleased with the look and feel of this boot. Would have given 5 stars but sizing is an issue. I have worn a size 9 1/2 shoe in oxfords and slip-ons from Sears Roebuck to Floreshiem for 40 years now but this boot was too big in size 9 1/2. Similarly, I previously purchased the Reebok Spearhead boot from another supplier (you can find it here on SG) and it was too large as well, so Reeboks appear to be oversized on two counts in my experience. I purchased this boot in size 9 and it fits perfectly. If you are in the size 8-10 range this might be an issue. A couple other things: the gusset only extends up to the 5th eyelet on the boot. Surprising considering how the military wears their BDUs bloused above the boot. Keep this in mind ... MoreReceived this boot today and am super pleased with the look and feel of this boot. Surprising considering how the military wears their BDUs bloused above the boot. Keep this in mind if whatever you plan to be walking through is going to get up over this level. Also there is more padding in the tongue and shank of the boot than I expected. Probably ok but laces could be about 6 inches longer on this account. The zipper is not as functional for R&R as one might think. Not sure who's idea this is. It does help a bit to remove but you will be unlacing to get the boot back on. Not enough of an issue to consider an exchange though, plus this boot is offered in Desert Sand instead of Coyote like the unzipped version which I really liked. All in all I'm very confident that you will like this boot.
I have owned 6 pairs of the Reebok Side Zip work boots. They are good but used to be great. Now made in Vietnam. The previous boots were made in China & were more comfortable. The sole has a noticeably harder formula. I still like these, but wish for the prior formula.
Very disappointed with this boot. Returned immediately. I bought the 6” pair at the beginning of the year and they are the best shoes I’ve owned less the side zip Velcro not staying attached all the time. So I bought these 8” ones for winter. I love the way these look, but that piece behind the ankle/heel is unacceptable! I originally thought it might have been a defect but after reading way into the reviews I see that others have had the same problem. Someone had to use gauze?? I took 15 steps in these and Immediately started feeling major discomfort and rubbing on the back/sides of my ankle, with thick socks on! It is that “support” piece that looks like cheap leather paper. I’ve bought a lot from this site and this is not something I would expect from them. I ... MoreVery disappointed with this boot. I would highly recommend discontinuing the sale of these boots. Whoever designed these shoes should try on a pair and walk around for an hour and see if their ankles aren’t rubbed raw. The design difference between the 6” and 8” is crazy. 0.5 stars because it isn’t wearable. It might as well be a door stop.
This is my 3rd pair of these boots over the past 4 years. I work aboard ships in engine rooms and these boots take a beating- covered in oil, walk ~7 miles a day, climbing, stuff getting dropped on them, etc. They last a while and even more important they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Seriously it's like I'm wearing sneakers. Feet stay pretty cool too, much better than other boots I've worn. Previous pairs had worse slip resistance but I think Reebok has rectified the issue because I haven't had any issues at all with my current pair. I absolutely recommend these as work boots.
Surprised how light these boots are. I ordered these boots because in the advertisement it said they came in an extra wide option which for myself seems to be hard to find. I believe it also somewhere in the add said they ran (true to size). The boots I wanted were supposed to be men’s size 9 double or triple E. The length (9) was adequate, but the width was far from (true to size) in my opinion. They are very narrow, to the point of being uncomfortable. I have worn them for les than a week and they are still very uncomfortable so I am going to contact customer service to see if I can return them for something WIDER to fit my duck feet. I sure hope they will take them back because they were not cheap! Other than being WAY TO NARROW and not treated to be water ... MoreSurprised how light these boots are. Other than being WAY TO NARROW and not treated to be water resistant, (stained up already) they have the possibility of being a fairly acceptable boot. I will follow up with a further review soon I hope. So hold on don’t spend half a pay check yet.
This is my 4th or 5th pair of this model. 1 pair every 1-2 years. Extremely comfortable boots. Safe. Snow, sand, heavy industrial environment. High quality. Heavy duty. I can always count on them. Saved my ankle from unexpected twist many times.Highly recommend for very active persons.Best boots I have ever owned.
I really want to like these boot. The boots hurt my feet from day one. I know sometimes it takes time to break them in but they felt comfortable. I even stop wearing for couple of months see if that made a difference but still same results. I love the other Reebok work boots I bought, and thought these would have the same comforter with no luck.

Reebok's Rapid Response combat boots offer phenomenal fit, protection and comfort. The flexible Tailex lining moves with the foot with each step, helping to prevent blisters and other foot injuries, and creates small air pockets in the boot, giving the foot room to breathe. It also wicks away moisture, which rapidly evaporates as soon as the boot is removed, reducing the growth of bacteria that could cause mildew or odor. The Rapid Response also protects the foot in several ways. The ASTM F2413-05-rated composite toe guards the foot from compressive loads up to 2,500 pounds and impacts up to 75 pounds. A Shock Eliminator heel cushion and dual-density outsole absorb shock, while a dual-density polyurethane cushion and EVA midsole protect the sole of the foot. No need to fumble with laces at the end of a tough mission. The durable YKK side zipper allows for rapid on-off.
