Rega Planar 1 Plus Turntable with Built in Phono, Matt Black
Call for availabilities. The answer was simple; our engineers added a custom designed, high quality, moving magnet phono stage based around the multi-award winning What Hi-Fi? 5 Star Fono Mini. The new built in phono preamp offers the ability to connect the Planar 1 Plus directly to almost any system that has a standard line input via a standard phono to phono cable (supplied) or phono to 3.5mm lead. Your Planar 1 Plus will connect directly to any standard Line Level input (such as you would connect a CD player to). There are obvious audio advantages to housing the phono stage directly beneath the tonearm. The carefully shielded tonearm wire is soldered directly to the stage which prevents any unwanted pick up via the usual external cable between the arm and stage. The Planar 1 Plus benefits from all of the advantages of its sibling, the Planar 1, such as a low noise 24v motor, precision hub bearing assembly and hand made RB110 tonearm with a factory fitted Rega Carbon cartridge. Set-up remains possible in under 30 seconds making this the easiest to use, and most flexible Rega turntable to date. Stick on your favourite LP, sit back and enjoy!

TTL is a wonderful place to order a Rega from, and they make the experience feel special. Also, the careful packaging with double boxing is a real plus. I've been loving my P1, it's perfect in every way. I've used P1s for maybe 20 years and this is my favorite yet!

I just picked this up after chatting with the friendly staff at AudioT. I haven't played an LP since the early 90s, but wanted to get back to basics with an old-school record player. I was drawn to this, as it includes the pre-amp, and is cheap and cheerful.I honestly wasn't expecting the player to sound this good. So good in-fact, that I feel like my sound system has been wasted for the last 10 years (cyrix amp + eclipse TD510s).Now I want to go back and hear the difference between this and the RP8 even more!

This is the best turntable I've ever owned or used. Its design is simple and elegant. The plinth is beautifully finished. The tonearm is well made, and the motor is quiet. The cartridge is well balanced. The most remarkable thing about the turntable is the sound: I've had a lot of turntables, and this one is superb. It is open, dynamic, and detailed. It is also a pleasure to use: the tonearm is easy to set up, the turntable is easy to set up, and the operation is easy. The turntable is sturdy, and I feel it will last a long time.

Amazing service. Great communication and extremely speedy delivery. I purchased this bundle to get back to vinyl and I am extremely happy I did. The walnut is even more gorgeous in person and the sound from the Rega and the Q acoustics is outstanding. This was a fantastic deal. I will most definitely use Doug Brady Hi-Fi again in the future.
How marvellous to be entering 2022 with a brand new record player. Forty years on from the arrival of the " compact disc player" who would have imagined it? My old revolver deck had seen much use and the rubber band surrounding the platter had become a little overstretched and fiddly. Otherwise...its in fine condition if you are interested! The Planar (with Ortofon cartridge), is a good value, solidly built, neat looking UK built deck and works well through my Monitor Audion speakers. Records have less shrillness about them than cds and its almost nice to hear the odd crackle or two again! Highly recommended.
Great sounding turntable. Old school rock like Van Halen and early live KISS sound fantastic. Beautifully weighted and balanced, but missing basic, expected features like auto-return and speed setting for 45.
The Rega Planar 1 is the perfect way to re-introduce yourself to the pleasures of vinyl. It is so easy to set up, from box to playing in less than 15 minutes. It comes will the cartridge pre installed, just fit the tone arm balance weight plug in, fit the lid and away you go. It is totally manual to use, from turning on the rotation of the platter, lifting the tone arm, sliding across to the required position on the record, lowering the arm and stylus, sitting back enjoying the music, then lifting it off the record at the end to return the arm to its resting place. This record deck has no unnecessary functions all the attention has been put into its performance. This record deck has no unnecessary functions all the attention has been put into its performance. And what performance, I have to admit to being a little nervous, returning to vinyl after 35 years, was it really any good, how would it compare to cd or streaming? To cut to the chase, I did a direct comparison between the three forms of music reproduction, and to my ears the Rega is warmer, not soft, with a fuller sound, more revealing, details came through that were lost in the digital version of tracks. It is a more enjoyable experience, especially against streaming which sounds brittle in comparison. Ok enough, I'm off to listen to more of my old LP's and even ordering some new ones!
Just perfect. I had bought a House of Marley Bluetooth turntable originally, however after having multiple issues with two different types of the turntable I decided to buy a completely different one. As a beginner into the vinyl world the Rega Planar 1 Plus Turntable is perfect for simple and easy playing. The sound is far superior to the Marley turntable. A very happy purchase.
Rubber insert used on lift arm was too long and not properly attached, had to trim about a eighth of an inch and reinstall. That didn't bother me as much as the sound of the Carbon cartridge, which seems uncapable of reproducing any midrange detail. Has decent bass and high end, but no midrange. Might sound ok with a better cartridge, but since it is " plug and play ", probably not worth the effort. Only turntable i have to compare it to is a 1974 Pioneer PL 55X that that cost $450.00 wo cartridge new, and has a Shure M93ED Cartridge. No comparison in quality of sound. Not recommended at even half the price.
As a vinyl enthusiast for over 30 year I know what makes a great turntable. I purchased my first rega over 20 years ago and it is still going strong great quality product. I have just purchased a new one from John Lewis for my daughter for Christmas and we did a lot of research. Let me save you a lot of work simple buy the Rega. Do not be fooled into buying a cheaper product over the next 20 years the small extra with seem like nothing. My other tip is not to buy a blue tooth player. they work but if you want the best sound quality avoid.
