Rega Planar 1 Record Player Matt Black Finish with Rega Carbon Cartridge 2021 Release.

The Rega Planar 1 is a great choice for anyone who wants to get into vinyl with a Rega brand turntable. It offers great sound quality, is easy to set up and use, at a reasonable price. Note that this turntable requires that your amp has a phono input. It has a clear, detailed sound with good separation of instruments. Bass is fast and tuneful. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a entry level turntable.

My first turntable in many years. And so far enjoying how it sounds. Build quality seems very good apart from the front top edge which was a bit rough and ragged. Can’t notice it visually only when you run your hand across it. But that is the only negative thing I have to say.

From the moment I set it up the Rega Planar 1 ECO DECK Turntable, I was blown away by the clarity and depth of the sound it produces. The build quality is exceptional, and the ease of use is a definite plus. Playing my favorite vinyl records on this turntable has been a truly immersive experience, bringing out nuances in the music that I never knew existed.

Bought this Eco Deck last week and and I have been a happy guy all week.This is my first turn table and being my first totally analog music listening experience, 'I'm blown away by the sound quality' is an understatement.I bought 9 records to begin with and barring 1 (only because of the quality of pressing), they all sound so much better than their HighRes FLAC versions.This turn table is beginner friendly and it was up an running in 10 minutes including unboxing. The packaged information about the setup is alright but it is best to see the setup video on youtube for better clarity.The only drawback of the package in my opinion is the supplied felt slip-mat. I thought of getting an acrylic platter mat but there is a difference in thickness from the original felt mat which would make the tone-arm sit 1 mm higher than its factory setting. So I don't know if it is recommended.Overall it is a beautiful sounding turn table and it has only piqued my interest in analog audio. Highly recommended.

A record 2022

How marvellous to be entering 2022 with a brand new record player. Forty years on from the arrival of the " compact disc player" who would have imagined it? My old revolver deck had seen much use and the rubber band surrounding the platter had become a little overstretched and fiddly. Otherwise...its in fine condition if you are interested! The Planar (with Ortofon cartridge), is a good value, solidly built, neat looking UK built deck and works well through my Monitor Audion speakers. Records have less shrillness about them than cds and its almost nice to hear the odd crackle or two again! Highly recommended.

Audioengine A1 Wireless Speakers

Everything about these are amazing! I can't fault them in the slightest. Packaged well and arrived within 24hrs ordering! They are sturdy wee things and well suited to my needs. The sound quality is brilliant! Look fab! Big sound for such small speakers! They certainly do my vinyls justice that they truly deserve. I have yet to try them in a different room from where the turntable is but I will add a review once I have. Adviser's were super friendly and highly Knowledgeable about everything as I needed bit of help making the right choice. Such an excellent company. I have made another purchase since. A remote control would have been the cherry on top. It was a really great experience overall and will not look anywhere else. Highly recommended

Best entry level tt hands DOWN for audio

So this is a review for Rega Planar 1 turntable.....I don't write bestbuy reviews ever... This is my first one for best buy.But I had to put my feedback here to help other newb turntable buyers save a lot of time and energy and money .My first turntable was just to get my feet wet with vinyls. Ended up buying a used audio technica LP60x. Quickly realised this isn't good enough. It was pretty decent if you just like playing vinyls and don't really care for audiophile quality playback. I found the built in phono unsatisfactory and tried using phono out with my own preamp.... this tt noisy when using phono out. Tried to fix it with grounding and all sorts of isolators. I sent it out for a warranty repair because this was audible in low volume playback. It was NOT fixable.I finally ended up getting this rega p1. This turntable is dead silent. No motor noises. No weird humming... I have exact same setup as other tt (audiotechnica and Project ), and nothing's changed but the turntable.... Amazing. The stock cartridge(rega carbon) is also MUCH nicer sounding than the stock cartridge in Project stock cartridge (ortofon OM5e)... Much more bass and mid presence ... The ortofon was thin and lacked a lot of bass--; often required additional EQing on my receiver to get it boosted. With rega, it just sounds fantastic without any eq help. Though this has a lot to do with cartridge and stylus , I'm comparing what you get out of box for similar price tag. The rega in general has a much more airy and wider sound.... Project just sounds compressed and flat for some reason.It's simply no match in my opinion.Theres more. I ended up trying to compare rega with project turntable Apples to apples. Same phono preamp . And I put the ortofon OM5e on the rega AND the project turntable just to see if there's anything different. It was night and day. Project vs Rega, there's something about the tone arm on the rega that's really drawing out more dynamics compared to the Project essentials tone arm... Or maybe it's the electronics ??? All I know is, using same cartridge and same phono pre amp, the rega sounds just more full, brings out more bass and mids , much more airy spacey sound than the Project turntable .I'm very very happy finally. My quest to find the ultimate budget entry level audiophile turntable is over. This is simply an outstanding model and I can easily recommend this purchase to anyone looking to get into turntables. Don't waste your time with audio technica and Project turntables at the entry level class .... Rega has been around forever and they know how to make turntables.

The Rega Planar 1 is the perfect way to re-introduce yourself to the pleasures of vinyl. It is so easy to set up, from box to playing in less than 15 minutes. It comes will the cartridge pre installed, just fit the tone arm balance weight plug in, fit the lid and away you go. It is totally manual to use, from turning on the rotation of the platter, lifting the tone arm, sliding across to the required position on the record, lowering the arm and stylus, sitting back enjoying the music, then lifting it off the record at the end to return the arm to its resting place. This record deck has no unnecessary functions all the attention has been put into its performance. To cut to the chase, I did a direct comparison between the three forms of music reproduction, and to my ears the Rega is warmer, not soft, with a fuller sound, more revealing, details came through that were lost in the digital version of tracks. It is a more enjoyable experience, especially against streaming which sounds brittle in comparison. Ok enough, I'm off to listen to more of my old LP's and even ordering some new ones!

Solid player

Just purchased this player and I gotta say bang for your buck this is a solid player.Best part is the sound, it’s crisp clean and pro sounding.The build is solid with a good weight, turntables are not suppose to be overly heavy.The arm is solid with great features. Cartridge sounds really good.One thing I don’t like is, it has three legs, so it’s tipsy but should never be an issue once in place.When you turn it on there is zero noise, which is what you want plugged into an av unit phono ports.Comes with a mat and the player is really nice to look at.Another negative is the motor doesn’t stop unless you power it off. So you gotta change records while it spins.
