Bought as my first subwoofer on the strength of reviews alone. I’m not disappointed. Currently pairing with some B&W 706 S2s and I’m experiencing an entirely new listening experience. The REL blends in flawlessly to the speakers, strengthening both bass and midrange. I could not be without it.

Not having used a subwoofer before, I decided I needed one as had to have small speakers tucked right up in two corners of a big room, and wanted decent bass.I went with Dali Opticon 1 mk2’s for the speakers, which as it happens are incredible on their own and have an excellent range. The REL though is phenomenal. With the crossover set at about 50 (where the Dali’s drop off), it doesn’t require much volume to fill the room with beautiful bass. Punchy where it’s meant to be and gentle where that is required, but very tight, and creates the illusion of the two small speakers having all-powerful bass - with an amazing overall sound across the spectrum.I’m really pleased I made the investment in this - turns a good setup to great.

My REL T7x supports a pair of Monitior Audio Silver 300 speakers. These speakers have a fairly decent bass response on their own, but the REL really extends the lower end frequencies with a solid natural-sounding bass. And as many reviewers elsewhere have noted, there is the added benefit of improved resolution and imaging in the sound stage. I've been slow to realise this, but A 2-channel system really does benefit from a well designed sub. The REL T7x is also beautifully built.

Nice mid base sub as advertised. No complaints at all. No issues with high level connection to clas D amp. Not using for LFE at this time. Runnjng duel subs in medium size room 15 x 18 open to dinette kitchen and hall way. Works well for 2 channel. Runnig seperate sub for home theater, lower hitting for LFE in my opinion. Probably Rel s models would be better for running double duty as designed. Like the ability to run both connections. Very musical and filling . Works well with my Focal bookshelf speakers. Would buy again. Nice finish and appearance in room.
I purchased this item around 1 month ago, so still fine tuning. It is partnered with an Ambeo Max.The power and control from this sub is amazing, in honesty is most probably too large for the Ambeo Max, however my open plan ground floor volume (est 150m³) may have seen the smaller T5 sounding a little lost.Matching the cross over and volume levels has been relatively easy, and just needs minor adjustment as more time is spent fine tuning to my taste. The sub handles anything that is thrown at it with ease, I have the volume around 40% and could be at times considered too loud.Build quality and aesthetic are brilliant.Spent time in Manchester store discussing at length and, staff as always very helpful plugged this into an Ambeo max and let me play about. ... MoreI purchased this item around 1 month ago, so still fine tuning. This sub woofer has a tight deep low base. It integrates well with the main speakers as a result of connecting directing to the speaker output terminals of the amp. The REL is fed the exact signal that is fed to the main speakers. Thus it integrates seamlessly with the main speakers. Very pleased with sound!
Back in November 2020 I got myself a XTZ SUB 12.17 EDGE sub. This was to my complement Triangle theta signature speakers, I’ve always been a little of a bass head. At the time I got what I asked for, rich full fun bass. But there was just to much sub for those speakers. In movies its fine, but for music….. A few weeks ago I got myself a REL T7X, OOOHHH man its night and day. The REL is super fast and fun. They are not playing in the same league! Best part is, now the low sound is just there and you don’t know if the sub is there or not. It just adds that low punch without sounding muddy or bloomy. Now it´s perfect for both movies and music. I'm just amazed how good it sounds tbh. Great buy, even you pay A LOT for the brand and those logos all over the place ;)PS. ... MoreBack in November 2020 I got myself a XTZ SUB 12.17 EDGE sub. Running it with a Helgel H390 and it was hard to got the cable to fit as you have the speaker plugs quite apart.
Picked up my T7 x sub from Glasgow store. They were a great help in advising setting up of sub. Sub is well packaged and fit and finish is superb.Took a few hours to set up and was very discreetly placed in a corner.Well I've owned subs before , but tbe rel is in a different class it was painless to intergrate into my system that it disappeared and just moulded perfectly with my speakers. There's no bloated bass it's fast and articulated. As soon as I can convince my wife to give up another xorner I will be buying a second one deom Glasgow richer sounds.
Having had an excellent demonstration of rival sub-woofers in York, I decided that the REL T7x was the best of those demonstrated. I instantly bought the REL T7x and I was so impressed with its performance as a sub-woofer and its superb appearance in the piano lacquer black that within a month I ordered a second REL T7x and now have them running in stereo. I can thoroughly recommend the REL range of sub-woofers as being both excellent when listening to music or watching movies with a good quality AV amplifier. The REL T7x sounds wonderful and looks superb as a piece of furniture. My wife and I are very, very happy with our purchase and the help given by the staff at Richer Sounds York
I really wasn’t sure if a subwoofer would make much of a difference to my floor standing Linn Keilidh active bi-amped speakers but wow! The Rel is tucked away in the corner of my room (as suggested by Rel). You completely forget it’s there but the extra depth and solidity to the base seemingly coming from your speakers is amazing. This isHi Fi bass not boomy cinema style base; fast, tight and responsive. To achieve this however takes quite a bit of fiddling and tweaking of the crossover and gain controls as you need to adjust listening to a diverse range of music. You get there in a couple of days though and it’s well worth the effort. Connection to your amp using the supplied cable is a doddle and it’s length allows you to find somewhere convenient to put the ... MoreI really wasn’t sure if a subwoofer would make much of a difference to my floor standing Linn Keilidh active bi-amped speakers but wow! Big shout out to Joe at the Leeds branch who was incredibly helpful.
