I was quite surprised how smooth this was. I wanted to try both. But, it definitely does not take much to feel 😎! 😆 The first taste is a bit strong because this was my first time having it but it was not bad after that. I tried with ice straight and with a bit of coke. Quite good! I definitely recommend.

First time trying and it will now be added to the home bar. This is one of the best VSOPs I’ve had. It was smooth with some vanilla and fruity notes but nothing over powering . My husband loves it on the rocks but I love it with pineapple and cranberry juice. Great night cap for us both. Would highly recommend.

This is an amazing product, it is so smooth and goes down nicely. It mixes well with a chaser or can be taken as shots. It is a dark liquor which is my favorite. The bottle is aesthetically pleasing and the portion size is good. I would definitely say you get value for your money. I recommend this product.

Remy Martin is one of my favorite cognacs. Off top you get the floral and fruit notes and the flavor profile represents that but I also get a hint of sweetness similar to vanilla. Very smooth, I love it. First test: neat in a Germain glass. Second test: on a ice spear. I recommend this product.

This is my first cognac review - I'm more used to scotch and whisky, but I figured I'd start somewhere with cognac, even though I was disappointed with this one. I'd like to see this sub grow, so while this is a pretty boring cognac from one of the big four, I hope this adds something. I'll continue to add reviews of cognac as I try them if other folks like it, and I hope others will do the same. Color - reddish brown Nose • Vanila • Dried fruit (prune/apricot) • Oak. • Floral and caramel notes opened up with some time. Taste • Toffee on the tip of the tongue, a spicy feeling in the middle, and strong cloves on the back • An orange almost Grand Marnier burn in the aftertaste After letting it sit for a while, I noticed some currant notes, as well as strong brown ... MoreThis is my first cognac review - I'm more used to scotch and whisky, but I figured I'd start somewhere with cognac, even though I was disappointed with this one. Score: 55/100, though this is my first cognac review and I do not have much to compare it to. It doesn't have the complexity or subtlety I would hope for in a fine spirit, and its alcoholic harshness ruins any of the interesting flavors you might pick up, though letting it sit for longer (10 minutes, even though this is a VSOP) did open up some different notes.

I was at a rooftop hotel bar in Williamsburg with a few friends when a lovely older lady suddenly came up and joined us. We made friends immediately and she was the epitome of class, chichness, and had an idgaf attitude. We talked honestly and openly about all kinds of things and she shared her wisdom and secrets with us. I asked her what she was drinking and it was . She let me try it (this was pre-covid) and it was lovely. To this day, I enjoy cognac when I want to have a drink. This product is smooth and goes down easy. I wasn’t a dark liquor person until I tried this. It doesn’t take much, just an oz or 2 to feel relaxed and lovely. Much better imo instead of going through several cans of hard seltzer or beer. I love that my experience with this has a story ... MoreI was at a rooftop hotel bar in Williamsburg with a few friends when a lovely older lady suddenly came up and joined us. Better than Henny
14 May 2023

This cognac levels up on its main competitor, Hennessy VS, in that it’s aged longer and is thus more mature and drinkable. It’s also bolder, brighter, and fruitier, with less alcohol burn, and ranks among the best cognacs for a Sidecar. This was one of the first cognacs I’ve tried, with crisp notes of grape, oak, leather, and red apple. Would buy again, though it’s not as good as, say, Pierre Ferrand.

Remy-Martin is consistently top-notch.

This VSOP is a premium brand and tastes well either straight or mixed. Although I prefer Remy-Martin XO for sipping neat, this cognac is a great option if you're looking for a more affordable option or something for a cocktail. This cognac has a better balance than the XO and is warm, smooth, slightly sweet, and sharper.

Try Rémy Martin V.S.O.P, it's four times longer, four times stronger, and you won't regret it!
26 November 2022

My favorite V.S.O.P by far is Rémy Martin (V.S.O.P stands for the minimum aging of four years). Yet, guess what? The age of Rémy Martin V.S.O.P is almost four times that needed by French law. And talking about four... In order to create a cognac that is unlike any other VSOP on the market, Rémy Martin combines four times as many eaux-de-vie as Hennessy VSOP. V.S.OP is the Cognac I prefer, unless I'm in the mood for the 1738.

Way Too Pricey!!!
14 September 2022

I have been purchasing Remy Martin VSOP Cognac for my lovely spouse for many years. I was thrilled to find it at Total for $33 for the 750 ml bottle - much cheaper than anywhere else. When the Trump Administration levied tariffs on French products, Cognac was included, and the price went to $50 at Total. Now it's at $55. I will not be purchasing it at Total any longer. The tariffs are NOT that onerous, and I am forced to conclude that Total is making a few extra bucks off of this situation. Too bad. My wife really likes the stuff and I've really enjoyed shopping at Total. Until now.
