I’ve been using this pomade for around 5 years now and it’s the only product that has ever really worked well with my hair (very thick hair that was always hard to style because of the weight of it). I always get the 4oz tub and each tub lasts me for a really long time. I just ordered my newest tub and was surprised to receive the extreme pomade travel kit with the 4oz tub, a tiny travel sized 1.3 oz tub, a travel sized daily shampoo (used it before and it’s great too), and a super nice travel bag. Basically every time I’ve placed an order I always get some type of nice gift along with the product I purchased. This gift being the best yet! I wish all companies were like Reuzel!

Gel is hard to find for me. My hair is straight like a chia pet. It grows straight out, is thin, and therefore will not shape at all. I need strong gel. This product is a lifesaver. It works unbelievably well, it smells good, and provide a nice finish. I will use it asl long as this product is available. 10 out of 10 for me.

All other water-based pomades get crunchy like gel. I have tried MANY other brands. This stuff is the best out there. I apply it to damp hair, comb and let dry. Then I comb through afain & style after it dries a bit. Unlike all other water-based pomades, it does not flake when combed through. This method provides a dry pompadour style that holds great and looks great with my fine, straight hair. Kind of like a Dale Watson or 70’s Conway Twitty hairdo. Difficult to achieve with my fine hair but this grey-can stuff does the trick. Try it.

I add a small amount of the Extreme Hold with the Matte Hold to increase texture. I can get thicker spikes in my hair. It also stays put. Holds all day and even thru wind. I get asked how my style holds so nice and this is the reason. I have thin hair and when I use the Extreme with the Matte it creates volume and makes my hair look thick. Other pomades fall so far short compared to this method. Highly recommend these 2 together. The finish, look and Volume is hard to beat.
Great product! I love it. It's water soluble, got a great smell, and a matte finish. Apply into wet hair for a "combed" look. Good quantity/size. It lasts me months! Smells gentle and tropical? Maybe like melon or coconut?
When I first got this pomade I loved it. Made my hair look thicker, shinier, and maintained a nice hold without looking like it was full of product. However it turned from a gel like texture with a dark color to a light yellow glue like material seemingly out of nowhere. It doesn’t work well anymore now. I’d upload a picture if this review let me. The pomade has been in my apartment since I bought it about 8 months ago so it hasn’t seen any major temperature or humidity swings. Can anyone answer the question of why this happened? Im nervous to purchase again because of this.
So, I have to first state, that I really do love Reuzel products. I have purchased nearly all of the pomades. My favorite is the Blue pomade. It has the best hold for my hair and has a clean scent. However, I have to say that Reuzel really missed the mark in my opinion when it comes to the Reuzel Red Pomade. The hold is good and so is the shine. But personally, the scent makes me nauseous when I apply it. It’s strange because the scent is suppose to be ‘vanilla cola’ and the Blue pomades scent is ‘vanilla wood’ and they couldn’t be further apart. The unfortunate part is that I have two large tins... I will still be a customer, but boy... this Red Pomade is rough.
This stuff is absolutely amazing! It holds my hair even after a ride on the motorcycle. It’s easy to apply and definitely will hold all day. The dryer your hair when you apply it usually the better the hold but I have applied on towel dry hair that is still a little damp and it holds better than anything else I have tried. I definitely have to thank my barber for introducing me to Reuzel’s products!
Extreme hold is perfect for keeping your hair in place in any kind of weather. I've walked through heat, wind, snow, you name it, and my slick back always stays in place when I use extreme hold. If you use enough product, you can use hair tonic to revitalize your hair for 2 days after initially styling. It's a great pomade, and even better when combined with the Blue.
This is my everyday “go to” for my short pixie style haircut. For years I used Jonathan dirt paste, but the brand went out of business and I was out of luck. Tried many many products and they were either too goopy and slimy or too dry and stiff. Plus many really had strong odors which I didn’t like. This Reuzel pomade was recommended by a hair stylist and it is everything I was looking for. Good hold with slight flexibility and no goopy slime. Looks natural and feels good. Also no overwhelming smell which is a fantastic thing.
