Revlon ColorSilk 50 Light Ash Brown

If you go to my photo, you'll see that on the left, I'm showing my hair with dark brown color. Most of my hair was virgin, gotta say an 85% of it. 5 boxes of [brand:revlon] Colorsilk, ultra light sun blond #3, later, my hair became the color I was looking for! (Shown on the right) I knew I had to get a really light hair dye color in order to bring it the color of my desire. This one won!! No need to go to the salon to get my hair bleached out by professionals, just few boxes of this hair dye and call of the day!! I love it!! Colorsilk Hair Coloring

I purchased Revlon #81 Light Blonde. I totally followed the directions paying close attention to the timing, 35 min. The picture on the box shows a woman with light blonde hair but mine looks medium brown. I have been blonde for 15 years so I am thoroughly upset that I have to wear this color for any length of time. This product is extremely poor if a person's hair becomes several shades darker than was intended. Does your hair coloring change composition if it has been in a warehouse and store over an extended period of time?

Good stuff

Great gray coverage. My hair was middle age, previously highlighted, dry, unruly, going gray gross hair. I used this color because I didn't want to spend $200 at the salon. My pocket book is empty. I saw this and thought what the heck. It couldn't get much worse and the price point was less than $4. Yup, I expected my hair to break off but couldn't do the nasty roots and gray anymore. IT Worked fabulous!! I used medium golden brown and my hair was soft and no roots or gray. I've had it for 2weeks now and no fade either. Good stuff. I will definitely purchase again for root touch up in a few weeks. And I saved so much money!! I will post before and after pics

Great Fix for Overgrown Highlights

I have naturally dark hair and from experience box dye will never lighten your hair. Only bleach will do that. But this was great for taking it shades darker. I had overgrown blonde highlights that I’ve been too lazy to do anything about. I finally decided it was time to make my hair look somewhat cohesive since it’s half light, half dark. Instead of paying hundreds at the hair salon, I applied half a bottle to the overgrown ends of my hair and it looks amazing. To avoid damage, I did not apply any product to my roots or come close to it.

Great product, until last night

I've been using this product for years and liked it for the low price and good results, until now. I didn't change my routine, it's obviously a bad batch. Didn't think that could happen. I had planned on calling them now to see if they could send me a product coupon thru my email today, so I can try it again. My daughter's 23 yr old birthday is tonight and I don't have any more budgeted money for this. I pulled the box out of the trash and was surprised to see ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT. The days and hours of their customer service are Mon-Thurs, 10-4p. Today is Friday. Plus they forgot to put EST or PST. I believe their corp. offices are in New York, so that's EST. Seriously, that's lame. They don't care to get it right. Its okay

This was the least bad smelling box dye I’ve ever used! Seriously no offensive odor here! My hair felt very silky soft after using and it doesn’t seem to have caused damage. However, I used the shade “light ash brown” over medium brown hair and it turned very dark and almost has a red hue to it which is not ash. It will lighten over time as turning dark at first is normal but certain spots pulled darker than others so the color is uneven and will fade unevenly. I normally use Garnier and have not had this problem before.

OOPS!

(I have to use 2 bottles for each application) The first application as I was putting the color on my hair the bottle was like dry rotten because it crumbled in my hands…. I was going to a meeting and had no time to do anything but the allotted time I’d already set for a color application. Then tonight I applied an application (2bottles) of blonde and my hair ended up red… uhm that was a shocker. So tomorrow I’ll be getting another 2 bottles to apply and try to correct this madness. If this doesn’t fix it imma have to go with another brand in hopes that they are more cautious of their product. REVLON COLORSILK NOT FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR

I recently purchased 2 boxes of Revlon Colorsilk Honey Blonde #42 and I was disappointed by the products results for my daughter's 3b/c dark brown hair. The product doesnt lift the hair color enough to show and all around color difference on the hair. It was inexpensive and cheap on quality. 2 bottle of the shade wasn't enough. DARK AND LOVELY OR CREME OF NATURE OR FADE RESISTANT BY D/R is far a SUPERIOR product and in my opinion, better quality for African American Hair where you outstanding results and are not cheated out of your money, time, self- esteem. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO DO NOT USE REVLON HAIR COLOR PRODUCTS ON AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR THEY SUCK.

Yes buy to save money

Yes please do buy the revlon color silk, all blacks to blonde box dyed are familiar no matter the brand they'll all look identical after use. Ingredients are similar scents are different it don't matter they all brand work the same so buy the color silk one. Wish Revlon include 1 oz toner in the color silk box dyes too! 3$ revlon coupon don't exclude box dyes it worked on it select colors but you can buy it then exchange it. The gloves are weak though not latex. They should make more purple tones and blue ,pink, green revlon color silk vivid lines for 3.$ price point !! Revlon should also sell a separate line of toners 2 oz sold for 3.49 $ price point or less.
