Revlon Colorstay Foundation is medium coverage. It has a liquid but dense texture at the same time , it is not heavy and it blends easily. It's definitely not matte, it's brighter, so if that's the look you're looking for, I think you'll like this foundation.

The consistency is on the liquify side which is perfect for me. I like to mix it with my moisturiser sometimes for a light makeup day. The color match was great and worked perfectly. We especially need sunscreen here in California. The big problem for me is not the makeup itself but the actual company Revlon. They are not a cruelty free company and that it a huge no-no in this day and age we are in. There is absolutely zero reason whatsoever to test anything on animals. It should be completely outlawed like it is in other countries. It also has some ingredients in it that aren’t exactly great for skin when used daily. The foundation goes on smoother, it feels silky, AND it lasts longer than MAC's long stay option I used for over a decade. Living on an island means settling for the one pharmacy that's close on a very large island, or driving a good 45 min into the mainland to where I found the nearest MAC was located. I decided to check Amazon and found that it was much better price wise, and when using my prime membership I was able to have it delivered within two days. It feels very moisturizing and doesn’t dry my skin at all nor does it feel greasy and pasty like other dry skin foundations. As I said, it feels like a second skin. So much so that I don’t have that urge at the end of the day to take it off and often have been forgetting until bedtime. With my usual “fancier” foundation, I feel like I “need” to wash it off as soon as I get home in the evening. I have to say, I’m a convert and will make this my everyday foundation. I have very oily mature skin and find that makeup tends to crease in fine lines and break up in surface oils. This is a very good option for combo and oily skin. Drugstore pricing is a bonus. I would compare this to Mac Studio Fix, Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Liquid, or the venerable Estee Lauder Double Wear (note: to date, NOTHING has ever touched the staying power of the original Double Wear, reformulated ca. 2013.) Texture is almost gel-like in its weight and spreadability. It is buildable and feels like it meshes and flexes well with the skin. I got great application with both a buffing brush, and a damp sponge, but I prefer the sponge method. My photos are after initial application and then after about 6hrs wear. When I use my phone I can see transfer of makeup and when dabbing with a napkin. My face does tends to get shiny due to oil but not terrible with this foundation. Honestly, I think the trade off of having Oily dewy skin vs patches due to mattifying too much...honestly I prefer it that way. I've really grown to like this foundation and can see myself buying this for everyday wear.

I was skeptical that it would actually stay on for 24hrs while I chased after my kids yet it truly did last 24hrs and really is transfer resistant as it claimed. I loved that this makeup was infused with “skin -caring ingredients “ (Revlon’s Quote) . So The bottle I was gifted was for combination/oily skin in color nude with a matte/poreless finish , which as you can see in my pictures, it has a matte/poreless finish as described. It also contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to avoid drying out the skin. Its fluid and non-heavy texture is perfect for oily and combination skin as it goes on my skin well and spreads easily on the face. I like to use a damp beauty blender to quickly apply the product on my face - it only needs two pumps as a little goes a long way. It offers a medium-to-full coverage, and is able to cover 70% to 80% of the blemishes on my skin. When wearing this foundation under a mask, I think the foundation in my nose area of the t-zone is more likely to come off than the cheeks. So if you need to go out for a long time, some touch-up will likely be needed. This foundation has a matte finish which is always my preference as I don’t like my skin to look too glossy. It's also worth noting that this foundation doesn't leave much foundation colour behind if you wipe your face with a tissue when sweating, so it helps me to maintain a good look after exercise.

Here in the humid, hot, summers of North Carolina, that's saying something.You really don't need primer with this. The long wearing formula dries tight to the skin and primer just adds another layer, which can look too made up. Save the primer for wispy, wimpy foundations! I just dust a little setting powder on my T zone, that's it.Also, Revlon doesn't claim that it's waterproof but it really is. You have to use soap to remove it! Which brings me to....The only problem I've had is how to clean my brush. I saw someone else complaining about this too. Revlon Colorstay is that indelible!! BUT I've discovered through trial and error how to do it: Mix Dawn dish liquid with Windex at about equal parts. Swirl the brush thoroughly and let it soak for a few minutes. Then rinse with hot water. (The Windex contains ammonia and vinegar). This is the only thing I've found that will break down the product sufficiently to clean the brush like new. I keep two foundation brushes so I always have a clean one.As far as shade choice, I am a natural blonde and tend to have a lot of pink in the center of my face, which I like to downplay. I use Buff in winter and mix in a little Sand Beige in summer. Those 2 colors are neutral and slightly yellowish so they cancel the red. I also like to swipe a little foundation on my eyelids to grip eyeshadow. Works like a charm and again, it stays on all day.
