Revlon PhotoReady Prime Plus - Mattifying and Pore Reducing 30 ml

I quite like this primer, because I’m Suss on primers and not convinced they do much I mix 1:1 for example one pump Ole Henriksen : 1 pump revlon to save money. A beauty therapist friend told me most of the top shelf products at Mecca Sephora are super concentrated so even if you water it down with moisturiser or a less effective product, it’ll still work. I guessed from the feel that this was high in silicone and when I read the label dimethicone was 5th on the ingredient list. There isn’t a tacky feeling to this product, it really just feels like moisturiser but with slip. I guess of what we consider “drug store” here in Australia 🇦🇺 I think L’Oreal, then Revlon are the top tier and I prefer this to L’Oreal’s primer. So, I don’t know about this primer. The good: nice packaging, and products glide somewhat well over it. The bad: it has a very heavy texture. So heavy that it doesn’t go on perfectly even. In fact, if it starts drying before you are done it kind of crumbles. The formula is so think that it doesn’t really work great with the pump to get it out. Goes on heavy and it feels a little cakey before it dries. Does it work? Well, it does keep makeup in place and with some blotting paper it does manage to keep you matte for the most part. Honestly, not something I would buy again

Awful Product, Bring Back the Old

I recently bought the mattifying + pore reducing primer. Apparently it has replaced the photo ready pore perfecting primer. HUGE MISTAKE Revlon!!! This new product is awful, it feels thick going in, it left my skin looking more oily than before I put it in, and does absolute nothing to smooth my pores. It also pills like crazy after putting foundation and/or powder on, leaving a white clumpy mess all over my face. Once I do manage to get that mess cleaned off my face, my skin looks awful within a few hours, my make up looks caked and streaky, and my skin oily/shiny.Although I hated the packaging of the previous photo ready pore perfecting primer, I ended up having to throw about 25% of the remaining primer away because you couldn’t get it out, the primer itself ... MoreI recently bought the mattifying + pore reducing primer. It glided over pores, perfected the fine lines under my eyes, and evened out my skin tone.Why did you have to mess with a perfect product with such a high following, Revlon??? Bring back the old, with a better bottle/pump please. If I could give this product negative stars, I would. Sorry Revlon, you have also lost this customer as well until the old comes back.

Disappointing, nothing like the old version

The old version of this primer was the backbone of my makeup routine—so when it disappeared from stores and got replaced by this, I was really hoping the reformulation would still work for me. Unfortunately, it didn't! I'll start with the good things: it's easy to apply, and didn't make my oily, acne-prone skin break out. Now the bad things: rather than the "mattifying pore reducing" it promises, this primer actually made my face oilier and emphasized my pores. So, it did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to. On the whole, I found this product to be a big disappointment and a waste of some money. and I wish they'd drop the "prime plus" rebrand and bring back the old version that actually worked.

Disaster of a primer

I bought this a couple of days ago as an alternative because my usual brand was out-of stock. I wish I'd taken the time to read some reviews. This product doesn't seem to absorb the way other primers do, it remains quite tacky even some time after application. It sits on top of your skin and so whether you wear it on its own or under foundation, if you rub any part of your face it start to flake off. I thought it might be a specific spot but as the day went on it was happening everywhere. It is a complete waste of almost €16 as there is no way to get a refund and it completely unusable. I will now have to hunt around for another replacement so effectively will have to spend the same amount again. Avoid

Don't waste your money

The product itself is just okay. I've used much better primers at the same price point. The bottle design is the biggest flaw, in my opinion. The pump stopped working when it was only halfway gone because the product sticks to the side of the bottle. The consistency does not allow you to smack the open bottle against your hand to get the product out and the bottle is too hard to squeeze. I've resorted to scooping it out with a q-tip but I know when I throw it out I will have wasted product, and therefore wasted money. Not impressed and won't be buying again.

Dupe for Benefit Porefessional

I love the packaging of Revlon PhotoReady Prime Plus™ Primer Mattifying & Pore Reducing. Its clean and bright. I'm a huge fan of a pump for skin products however the pump was broken on my product so i had to twist off the lid and deposit product onto my hand using a cotton tip.I really liked the consistency of the product. Its thick and applies evenly. Its reminiscent of Benefits porefessional primer in that its a powdery paste but I actually think it applies smoother.My makeup wore all day and my oily T zone stayed matte which NEVER happens. EWG certified

I rarely wear cosmetics. But, when I do I try to only wear healthy alternatives on my skin. I usually look at 2 things before buying: great reviews and EWG ratings for safe products. I was recently shocked to see the Revlon photo ready Prime Plus on the EWG safe list. I was intrigued so I bought some. I tried on half my face and compared the difference. OMG!! I absolutely love it. Because I rarely wear anything on my face I could immediately see the difference. And, it’s super light and silky. Thank you for making a safe product. I will buy this as long as you make it.

Moisturize and Prep

I didn't like this primer at first but I was determined not to let it go to waste. I was reading reviews and was seeing that it was hit and miss. People either absolutely loved it and compared it to higher end products or completely hated it and had an experience like I did at first and found that it became flaky. I noticed that some spots on my face would be white and flaky as soon as I put on foundation. I made sure I applied toner and moisturized my face in areas where my face was very dry and where the primer was flaking. I applied this product smoothy like a lotion instead of patting. Then I applied my foundation with a sponge. NO FLAKING! My face also feels less oily with this product which is the reason I got it

Not as advertised

This primer did not minimize my pores. Normally I purchase the ELF Pore Minimizing primer, they were out of stock so I ended up purchasing the Revlon pore minimizing primer. Do yourself a favor, save some money by just purchasing the ELF primer, it works better than this overpriced primer. I can't comment on the skincare benefits of this primer. I already have a skincare routine to help with my acne and discoloration. This did help with mattifying my makeup for the day, but I would not repurchase due to the lack of pore minimizing.
