The Vortex Bars are very solid and made of aluminum. They do come with rubber filler material for the top which can be trimmed to desired lengths. Easily attach to the leg system and have a plastic stamped key system on the end caps for removal.

It's a great design. The lower track has a bit of a whistle to it, which I fixed with some black duct tape.The top of the rack has a track to hold a bike rack or ski rack, which is what I'm using it for. No complaints.I liked the design so much I bought another Rhino rack for my second vehicle.
