This rice does not cook right. I make a lot of rice dishes including Spanish rice and used it because I thought it was something I was doing wrong. That was not the case as I used another rice with no problems. If I could send the remains back, I would. Mahatma is much better. This was processed by a company that clearly doesn't know much about rice.

Best rice for Arroz Con Gandules!!! If you cook it right with the right amount of aqua, the rice will come out nice n chewy, not mushy. Absolutely best rice for this recipe.

Please do not buy this rice, it has contamination of some sort. It looks to be painted then milled off. I have pictures of it. I bought 150lbs of it and it’s still at my house. I am afraid every time I eat. This variety in this bag has contamination. Some of the rice looks like it has been painted. After it cooks, the grains that was polished with off white color will look like it has been painted with crackle nail polish.
This is the worst medium-grain rice I have ever bought. It is bland and fragmented, which does not have the usual sweetness and semi-stickiness when cooked.I gave it one more star because it is cheap, $10.88 (tax not included) for 20 lbs.
Fabulous delicious rice. We use a ZOJIRUSHI Neuro fuzzy rice cooker (made in Japan) 3x weekly. Fluffy, unbroken, perfectly-cooked rice. If there are leftovers, great. We make extra for fried rice, Mexican rice, salads, blueberry/pecan/honey breakfast bowls, soups, rice puddings, and to serve under Hormel beef au jus, teriyaki chicken, peanut sauce, stir fry, or shrimp w/butter sauce. This rice is our staple that can be adjusted for our various diets.
This rice cooks really well, its shorter and a little fatter than long grain. It doesn't get mushy, at least not for me, but I've been cooking rice for a long time. IMO it's the best for Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Mexican rice recipes. Medium grain rice is hard to find so please keep it in stock Walmart!
Bought this rice because this was the only brand in the aisle. Looks weird and some grains are metallic looking. After cooking it, it just felt and tasted like plastic or wax. I just decided to throw the rest of the bag. Something is not right about this rice.
Love this Rico Rice the only only problem is my local store Lacey NJ 08734 advertises it but never has it . I have been checking since 12/12/2017 almost every other day and have had friends and family who check when they go if i can't make it in to check the the shelf for it has been empty every day. All i hear is that it will be restocked tomorrow or that it is on the truck. Spoke to Zack today and he told me it will be on 01/16/2018 because it was on the truck but couldn't guarantee it would be on the truck because i have shopped online with Walmart 08734 for Christmas and it was a nightmare 5 time and 5 times couldn't get what i wanted shopped with another store and got what i wanted the same day. This is the better rice for people that know of rice. Only what you have to is that you use the same measure of rice and water with a small amount of oil and salt. That’s it. Good taste, excellent.
