Just after getting my grubby gamers hands on a pair of RIG 800 Pro HS my bliss bus crushed when my PS4 decided to have a breakdown of fortitude and function. Now, finally! Both are up and running, ready to eat my free time and attain high levels of performance. First perk is the easy set up. A touch left of plug and play, the process is as simple as following a few prompts. Second perk is the comfort. Lighter than I expected without feeling like regular use might result in breakage. If you are co-opting for hours you won't be bother by rub points or the headset digging in. Sound quality is primo with no delay. No signal drop. No echo or distortion. The mic picked up very little ambient noise with clear tone with a volume balance. Battery life is pretty good. Really though, hours of game play before they need to have a base recharge. Quick turn around, certain faster than my current rig. All around a very positive experience. My trash talk has improved as much as my score.

This was my first experience with a rig headset and it was pretty great with a few minor flaws. First off the comfort was phenomenal and never hurt on long sessions. The wireless charging base was great and battery life lasted all day. The mic was crystal clear and the flip to mute was great. Only flaws were the headset didn't have a loud enough volume to compensate for the impactful bass. The highs and mids would have shined more with some more decibels to bring it to it's full potential. Shame because like most almost great headsets for gaming are lacking volume to get the full emersion that each headset has to offer. When will these companies learn.

This headset is a great option for the online gamer, or even the casual work-from-homer that needs to be on tons of calls. The headset is wireless with decent range, like you would expect at this price point. Battery life is also decent, but the charging port that you can drop and charge in helps make is seem like they last forever as long as you charge them between uses. The headset is actually quite light, which come might criticize as being flimsy or cheap, but it helps you forget you are wearing them which I appreciate. I also love the ear cups, they are SUPER soft and comfortable. I also love the way these adjust the head depth - unlike your traditional slider style where both ears move up and down, these simply clip into one of 3 slots on either side, and the ... MoreThis headset is a great option for the online gamer, or even the casual work-from-homer that needs to be on tons of calls. I also love the way these adjust the head depth - unlike your traditional slider style where both ears move up and down, these simply clip into one of 3 slots on either side, and the elastic band over the top makes up for the slack. Super comfortable, and you know youre going to get the same fit every time you put them on without having to adjust each time. Only real gripes I can say are that they dont create a super solid seal on your head, and therefore outside noise gets in pretty easily, and the microphone is locked to one side without being changeable to the other. But the sound output on these is more than sufficient to drown anything out, and the sound quality is super great for a headset.

Comfortable to wear for those long gaming sessions and a great audio experience with in-game sound and chat audio. When chatting with friends, you have 3 levels of mic audio available, mic control is available on the left can, top right on a wheel that turns halfway up and down, with a slight tactile feel for the middle level. Overall volume is controllled in a similar way, though the wheel spins continuously up+ and down- with a tactile feel as the wheel scrolls up or down. The charging base is nice as it helps store the headset as it charges (can also charge the headset while using with included micro USB port). I finally found an every day gaming headset in the Rig 800 Pro HS. It so extremely comfortable thanks the cushy ear pads, adjustable head band, and relative light weight. My old set had a traditional metal slider hidden in a hard plastic band and this design is much better in terms of comfort, weight, and appearance. The subtle carbon fiber pattern on the ear cuffs is cool without being tacky. I also really like the adjustable goose neck style microphone. Other headsets have limited adjustability, whereas the one on the 800 pro offers almost infinite options. Of course it also has the flip down/flip on/off functionality. Pairing is easy—you can either go the Bluetooth or RF route. Personally I like the RF option as long as you have the spare USB port. Pairing is easy—you can either go the Bluetooth or RF route. Personally I like the RF option as long as you have the spare USB port. Speaking of USB, the charging cradle might be the best part. First, the cradle provides a great place to store the headset when not in use and to simulate noisily charge it. Second, RF dongle can be plugged directly into the cradle so you only use a single USB port for charging and connectivity. The audio quality is top notch and the people I have spoken to with the mic say I sound great. The headset is just awesome overall.
The RIG 800 Pro HS is a great gaming headphone set, but it isn't without its shortcomings. Let's talk about the pros: Build quality seems very solid. Sound quality is great. Mic quality is really good, and I love flipping the mic up to mute. The charging base is AWESOME. For some reason this is my favorite part. Sound quality and sound stage are also really good. Now the bad: the ear pads are small. They definitely aren't over the ear headphones. No way to plug in external sources. And they are a bit quiet. At full blast, it's a comfortable level, but I would like to be able to push them just a little more. Overall, a great pair. Works well with my PS5 and I would definitely recommend them,
The RIG 800 PRO Headset is a value package if you're not too familiar with headsets for gaming. As for myself, I'm not even a gamer, but often find myself on podcasts, Microsoft Team meetings, and Discord serves, conversing with different people on a range of topics. I found the RIG 800 set to be an excellent value add to my experience. The headset itself is well-constructed but very light. I was actually really skeptical about them when I noticed how light they were, but it's definitely more to its benefit! I also really love the charger base, it's compact and the headset seems to snap into place for easy charging using only a USB cord. I found the audio quality to be great, nothing exceptional but certainly well suited for my use purposes. I found the audio quality to be great, nothing exceptional but certainly well suited for my use purposes. I did find that after an hour of wearing them, my ears began to hurt, but fortunately they do have size adjustments for comfort. Another major let-down was the fact that these headphones DO NOT have Bluetooth connectivity! What a shocker, as I would've thought BT connectivity is a basic staple. Instead, we're left to use a USB wireless adapter, probably the reason why this headset only works with PS4/5 instead of being platform agnostic. Personally, there was also some confusion with even powering the headset (pro tip: press and hold the button until you hear "The Voice") as well as if the headset is fully charged. Otherwise, I do believe these to be of good value.
The headset is wireless and requires a USB dongle to connect to a device. It worked flawlessly with my Playstation as well as PC. I was only able to test the range to about 65-feet, but at the range, there was no static, disconnecting or anything of the sort. The charging station has an LED light. When the unit it charging, it shines red. When complete, it turns off. So there's no worry of an annoying perpetual light after the headset is charged which is great! After 3hrs of wearing them, I completely forgot I was wearing them and attempted to touch my ear only to be surprised when I felt plastic. The headset has simple controls. A volume knob, a microphone toggle knob, and a power on/off button. The microphone is enabled/disabled when raised and lowered. Fold the microphone into the headset and it disables the microphone, pull it down and it enables it. Upon turning the device on, you get an audible notification stating the battery level followed by whether or not it's connected. The headset is adjustable. The headband strap can be removed and is also elastic. Each ear muff has 3 possible positions but the muffs cannot swap sides. The microphone is also permanently attached and not removeable. Sound quality is good, not great, but definitely good enough for most. If you're an audiophile, I would look elsewhere. The headset is NOT noise canceling, so background sound can be heard.
So I have to say these are pretty amazing headphones. Definitely noise canceling which is a must in my world. They are super comfortable on my ears. I like that their is like a stretchy inner headband piece that makes sure you always have a tight fit. The mic easily maneuvers to where you'd like it to be. You can lift it up to mute the mic and pull it down when you're ready to talk again. The quality of sound is amazing and clear. Sometimes it seems like it's almost too clear. But that could be because of the other head sets I use just aren't as clear as these. Definitely won't be going back. Bluetooth connected in seconds. Only thing that isn't too much of a big deal but should be noted is that you can adjust the band to one of 3 clip on spots to make it bigger for your head. Only downfall is that you can only do it on one side. It can make them feel slightly off. Also where you adjust it, it seems like the plastic could potentially break easily if not handled with care when adjusting your headphones. But highly recommend!
I’ve been loving using this headset for gaming this past week. It’s super comfortable; the fit can be adjusted easily by moving the ear cups into designated slots, and when I had it adjusted just right I could play for hours without even remembering it was on! It’s like nothing is there, very light, despite how sturdy it feels. I’m glad the headband is very strong too, so it’ll last longer than my previous flimsier headsets. The sound is crisp and clear, and the ear cups are very soft but not warm at all, my ears breathe fine in them, no sweat or discomfort after long use. The cord is flat which is great for storage and staying tangle-free, and the charging base was easy to set up, and fits right in with my decor.
