Rimmel Lasting Finish 35Hr Foundation 430 Deep Olive

I was really looking forward to using this foundation. The formula is quite runny which surprised me for a long wearing foundation. It does apply nicely, I use a flat end foundation brush and it goes on really nice with that. It looks lovely at first and the shade is a great match for my skin. However, it really isn’t long wearing at all. I’ve had it on since around 10.30 this morning, it’s now 3pm and as you can see from the photo, it’s started to come off and go patchy on my forehead and cheeks. I did the rest of my makeup routine the same, so I know the only difference is the foundation, so I have to say I am disappointed with the longevity. I was kindly given the shade 210 Golden Beige to try and considering the colour match I chose was from an online Swatch it's a pretty good match. I have very yellowy undertones to my skin and it matches beautifully. This is a full coverage and a little goes a long way. I don't like it applied with a brush, only with a damp beauty blender. With a sponge I found the formula too thick and it left brush strokes on my face, but with a beauty blender it applied sooo well! It has hyaluronic acid in, which I love, as it is enriching your skin the whole time you wear it. I can apply this in just a few minutes ready for my day, I have 2 young children so this is a must. AWFUL new formula!

I have used the original version of this foundation for years and loved it. This new formula is AWFUL, why have they changed something that didn’t need changing?! The addition of ‘skin care’ to this (and many other foundations on the market, which seems to be the trend these days) seems to have ruined the formula for me as my skin is quite sensitive. I’d much rather choose the skincare I use and not have to compromise on my makeup. It now breaks me out (little pimples across my forehead, nose and cheeks, large painful spots on my chin and jawline). The colour is also off; I used to use Ivory in the original formula, but in the new one it’s very orange! Awful!

I’ve used this foundation for about 10 years and never felt the need to get another because this one suited my skin so so well. I would often receive compliments on how smooth my skin looked.However since the formula has been changed, I’ve had nothing but problems. Firstly, the shade I ordered (i.e. the shade I have always ordered) is at least a shade darker than it used to be, giving me a more orange finish. Secondly, the smell is incredibly chemically, which was never the case before. Gutted - bring back the old formula!!

I used this foundation in true ivory shade for approximately the last 10 years. I loved it because it was great value for money and it worked well on my dry skin. I was left with a dewy lightweight feel and it lasted all day. It was easy and smooth to apply and absorbed well. I was always complimented on my complexion because of the way it adjusted to my skin.I was shocked and utterly dissapinted when I discovered the new bottle I bought was, what felt like, a totally different foundation. It was the totally oposite of everything i loved about it. It did not glide over my skin on application, it feels heavy and weirdly powdery, it really highlights any small patches of dryness on my face. I had to use twice as much. MY new fave foundation

Admittedly, when I first received the email about testing this foundation I was hesitant. Usually when I get a foundation shade it’s not a match. HOWEVER, upon trying the product I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised this foundation is the best shade match I have ever had (even better than the foundation I bought from a company that customises to your shade!) this has become my new go-to foundation. I also appreciate that the foundation doesn’t “sink” into the creases on my face (e.g. smile lines). The coverage is decent, I would say medium to full, with a matte finish. The wear is long enough, although I usually only wear my foundation from 0900-16:30. Pointless, doesn’t stay on your face

I would give this no stars if I could!I have always used the 26hour long lasting in shade ivory…. I think it’s been about 9-10 years, possibly longer ….I loved itThe past year maybe 2 the formula changed, I had to change shade because the ivory got more orangey, the new shade of foundation wouldn’t stay on my face,I thought I would try the 36 hour ….. omg it is even worse!Within 2 hours it’s melted off my face, my chin, nose and my under my eyes/ top of cheek is really blotchy, when I saw it I was so embarrassed and there was nothing I could do until I got home!I am in the process of Finding a new brandRimmel why? So disappointed in new make up formula

I have been using Rimmel for decades and I am now a pensioner and still wear make up daily. I have bought a new bottle recently ( which I later discovered contained a new formula) and although I thought the shade/colour looked different I purchased it anyway. Have now tried it and cannot believe the difference with the previous make up. It is thick, it is matt on the face, it doesn’t spread easily,and to be perfectly honest, I now look “ made up” and caked in it, I have always liked Rimmel as it is a lightweight make up that was not overpoweringly obvious on the face. A nice feeling and more liquified than the present substance. I wonder if the new formula will?

It was the perfect colour and blended seamlessly with my own skin tone. I recently ran out and when I went to repurchase it I found out they had changed the formula to this new 35 hr version. I thought nothing of it and purchased. It’s terrible ! The shade is completely different to the original and comes out orange. I wore it once and found that I had to layer bronzer on my neck just to make the colour blend. It made me feel like I was back in the early 2000’s wearing a horrible orange foundation.
