Love my new Rimowa Essential Cabin in green. The most distinct difference between this and other luggage I’ve owned is how effortlessly the wheels roll - so smooth! Love the inner compartments and that the top handle for lifting is on the outer half (allowing you to use your body to pop the suitcase off the floor).

HOWEVER the item I got is clearly a store display item given how many scratches it has and it doesn't have the free leather tag! The dust bag and information packet is there but no tag. CS says they can't do anything since the description of the item didn't say anything about a free luggage tag. They apparently can't prove that it should have a free luggage tag even though you can go to the Rimowa site and read that in their description ("Includes a complimentary leather luggage tag and a sticker."). I am a loyal Tumi fan for over 10 years. I recently purchased Large Essential Rimowa Slate color for my trip to South America because I only wanted to take one check in luggage without getting charge overweight fee as I am not a minimalist when it comes to packing. This Rimowa luggage is lighter compared to the same size Tumi lightweight luggage I own. I’m so surprise how smooth and effortless this luggage to handle. I am planning to purchase the Essential Trunk (not Trunk Plus) for my next trip to Asia. I hope Nordstrom will carry the Trunk size in Green in the near future. This luggage converted me becoming a loyal Rimowa fan.

The color of my latest Rimowa carry on luggage is so HIP & Stylist!! The shine of it is totally make others turned TWICE😄😂TOP! LOVE IT the minute I’ve seen the color and the size of it!!!! PS: The size and thickness of the luggage is so perfect too and fits all things that I would bring for my trips—jacket, extra outfit, my laptop, the phone charger & powerbank + my headphone & LOL😊.. my little snack! Keep up a good job, Bloomingdale’s! Let me know if your store has a large size of it because I’m interested to get it too!! Your Sales Store said, the store doesn’t have it at the time I purchased the Rimowa cabine size.
This case is worth the money I only used it once so I give my short term use review.-It held up to checking it in. No wheel damage or dings.-The wheels are amazing. It just glides across the floor.-I used a garment folder and it was large enough to accommodate.-The telescoping handle was easy to operate.There are much cheaper alternatives to this size, but the lifetime warranty, wheel system, and color combination sold me.
Rimowa is supposed to be one of the best suitcases, and the way Bloomingdale has handled it is beyond crazy. Ordered it online, my cardboard box came half open/half broken, the suitcase didn’t have a dust bag on, and the bag was half damaged. I called customer service and they gave me an immediate refund, but I am shocked because I was supposed to travel the next day and I had to go and buy some other random suitcase. We are talking about a 800$ bag here, and they’ve treated it like it was worth 80$. I am terrified and in utter disbelief. Terrible customer experience, and no value for high-end products.
For quite some time, I’ve been eyeing the Rimowa Essential Cabin (Matte Blue) to replace my Tumi carry-on and finally pulled the trigger. It has style, flexibility, performance, and adequate protection. I was also considering the Hybrid Cabin ($175 premium over Essential); however, since I never plan on checking it, I don’t really need added protection. The hybrid also has less flex when it comes to stuffing your bag, and sports a more rugged look. The two locking mechanisms (Hybrid) are faster than using a zipper (Essential) but you lose out on added flex. Lastly, I prefer the cleaner, sexy lines on the Essential Cabin.
I don’t know what is going on, but the box they shipped this in was wayyyyy too big. Not only that there was no protective bubble wrap. The box that it arrived in was bent inwards, so I assumed when opening the box that the item would come in the Rimowa box. No. There wasn’t even bubble wrap protecting it inside the rest of the huge box. It was damaged with black marks that you can’t remove and scuffs marks. The zippers are even damaged! It looks like this thing was returned. Who pays $900 for a piece of luggage to have this much of mediocrity?? This is Bloomingdale’s. Not Walmart. My god. Like are you all ok?? I’m returning this! I’m just going to buy it from the actual Rimowa website!
I always wanted a Rimowa but I’m always hesitant to get it because I am used to my Northface luggage. However, a month ago I finally bought the essential cabin in green color. It’s gorgeous! The luggage is very light, the wheels are easy to glide on carpet or hardwood/tile floor. Plus, it comes with 5yr. Warranty. The only hesitation I have is the zipper. Since it is the only thing that keeps the luggage close, I am afraid it is not enough to hold everything inside together. Yes, this luggage comes with divider but I am not used to it. Seems like the zipper is not strong enough…I will have to test and use this luggage domestically in case it break. I will have to bring a luggage belt just to keep myself ready..other than the zipper, I can say this is a good luggage
I bought the matte Blue Essential cabin. Have wanted a Rimowa for a long time so was excited to get it. However, when I received the product, there were DEEP scratches on it that are colored White so they are very noticeable. I have read the reviews and I know that the polycarbonate material is prone to scratches, and I kinda expected there would be minor scratches but not deep ones that you actually feel the recess when you run your fingers on them. I was so disappointed I drove to Bloomingdales within an hour of receiving the shipment to do a return. I cannot believe that Bloomingdales would ship such a damaged item without proper QA.
