I actually ordered the battery operated camera, but received the powered/corded version, so returned it. Either way my major comment is related to both the corded and batter powered cameras. My biggest complaint with the Stick Up Cam, is that if you want to mount the camera to a ceiling, you must purchase separately the mounting hardware. If the camera is mounted upside down, there is no way to rotate the image/video on the settings, so your images and video are upside down. While the product description indicates that ceiling mounting requires separate hardware, it does not explain why the hardware is required; i.e. not for the purpose of mounting to the ceiling, but rather so that the camera can be installed upright. This seems like a flaw in the design to me. ... MoreI actually ordered the battery operated camera, but received the powered/corded version, so returned it. I started by installing three Ring cameras to allow me to keep an eye on my dogs in our fenced backyards. The 2-way talk feature allowed me to encourage them to stop barking without going outside. This worked so well that I expanded the network to cover my driveway, doors, and mailbox. The night vision features work well. The battery life is reduced a little by very cold winter temperatures, but it is easy to recharge the batteries. Adding a solar panel can extend the battery life some (but not as much when there is only 5 hours of sunlight). The Alexa app or use on a PC allows a panel display of all cameras or a focus on a single camera.

I loved this camera when I got it a few months ago. It had a nice clear picture and it was so handy to have in my garage so I could keep an eye on the friendly feral cats I feed (and TNR etc.). I feel like the video quality became less and less over time and then what appeared to be a cobweb suddenly somewhat obstructed my vision. I tried to wipe it off but now it is so much worse than with the web. The picture is extremely pixelated if it even works at all. After taking tons of time reading through their community forum (that’s pretty much the only way to get a question answered through them) the best thing recommended was to spray Pam on a cloth a wipe it on the lens. I’m assuming that’s mainly for a cloudy lens cap from oxidation from being outside though. Mine ... MoreI loved this camera when I got it a few months ago. I still gave 5 stars because it originally was great and I’m hoping I can figure out a replacement lens cap or something so I don’t have to change my rating. There isn’t one available anywhere that i can find, though. You’d think if it could be out in the cold and wind and snow and rain that a spiderweb could be cleaned off with next to no problem. I would highly recommend never trying to clean anything off of the lens cover and probably place it in a clear weatherproof box if you are going to keep it outside (and also inside, apparently). Also, you must pay a monthly fee if you would like to see anything other than the current live feed, just fyi- I’m pretty sure there’s something similar with most home monitoring systems though.

Great delivery service from JL as always. This is the third Ring stick up camera I have purchased. I purchased it in the BF sales. Good value for money and great 2 year warranty from JL. Easy to install and configure, just follow the RING set up guide for adding a device. Build quality is good and picture quality is also good. Advise I would give is check your wifi coverage before deciding on a location for your device. Especially if it's some distance from your house (ie down the end of your garden). Would highly recommend product.
For ease of set up in the Ring app, I rate this as good. I soon had this working. Linking it with the Alexa app and getting announcements on my Alex's Dots was tricky, but I got there in the end.Fixing the camera to the wall was easy. It comes with an adjustable mount. The mount didn't have quite enough adjustment for my application, but you can buy or make something that will give a bit more adjustment. The wire to power the camera comes with a moulded dc plug on the end of a power adapter. The plug is quite big and requires a big hole. I opted to cut the wire and rejoin the 2 wires. The picture and sound quality is very good. I'm happy with purchase.Pros.Easy to set up in Ring appEasy to install on wall.Good picture quality.Free 30 day app ... MoreFor ease of set up in the Ring app, I rate this as good. I really like that the stick up cam looks modern and stylish and doesn't look out-of-place in the living room. We set it up in our living room where we can see our pets while we are out. The camera function is extremely clear and high quality, and so is the audio function. The audio function is very high quality as well. It literally sounds like I'm standing in the next room. I also really like the fact that the battery is removable and easily charged with a USB cord instead of having regular batteries or being hard-wired to the house's power. I am not very tech-savy, but I was able to download the ring ap and get the camera up and running in under 15 minutes. The program guides you through set-up and makes the whole process very easy. This is our first Ring product. We've been using the Ring Stick Up Wifi Pet Camara for about a month and couldn't be happier with it. Currently we are using this indoors to monitor our pets and home when we are away. The Camara's design is sleek and contemporary looking and is small enough to not be obtrusive. The directions are well written and we found it very easy to set up and use. There are options included for a couple of different mounting options. Because of the product's versatility and image clarity, we have decided to purchase a multipack as I manage a small feral cat colony at a location other than our home. We have Wifi at the second location and am looking forward to being able to also monitor the feeding station more closely for new cats, potential ... MoreThis is our first Ring product. Hello Bestbuy,I recently bought this ring camera at the Augusta maine location. I was drawn to it because my mother had bought one at the lowes in auburn maine. I hooked hers up in her house, and also shared it to my phone just incase hecause the primary reason was to keep an eye on the house of course but also our dog, and my dad not to like make him feel smothered just to make sure he's okay ( 84 in july). I also have purchased dash cams for my truck just because of crime rates increasing but i wanted something that i could get notified with a live viewing if my truck was being messed with ( I could call 911 asap, catch burglar in the act). My mom's is the older version ( white/indoor or outdoor) we love it! My concern if i so choose to hide it in truck would it be okay -17 to -20 possibly ( winter). I know it says -5. I just don't want to do it and damage my camera. Email me a response to my question I don't get on here often. Thaaank u!!!Great customer service as well at both locations !!! Very knowledgeable about the product and quality as well!!! Thank uAnG
Ah, the Ring Video Camera, the high-tech sentinel of suburbia, or as I like to call it, my personal snooping sidekick. The Ring Video Camera isn't just a security device – it's a comedic companion that turns everyday surveillance into a sidesplitting sitcom. From installation antics (im not tech savvy, instalation was tricky. I had to get help) to motion detection mishaps, it's the perfect addition to any homeowner's laugh-out-loud security arsenal. I use the camera in my livingroom and it helps me keep an eye on my dogs while im at work. After my son helped with installation and talked me through the app, it was great. It works well, great picture as advertised. I feel better about being away from my dogs, knowing i can check on them with just a click of a button.
I was very excited with the anticipation of receiving this product and it did not disappoint. I already have the doorbell ring, so this was the perfect compliment to that system. I have one small pittbull/poodle mix on a GPS collar and 3.5 acres, plus a handful of sheep and goats out back. My young child likes to play on the swingset and always brings the dog out with her. With the outdoor ring, I have the capability to check on them at any time and still see any visitors to the sheep and goat pen. With the option to adjust the area of the shot where movement triggers a notification, I can include any approach to the sheep and goat pen as a trigger, but not the pen itself where those guys are moving around all day and night.I also love the feature where I can have ... MoreI was very excited with the anticipation of receiving this product and it did not disappoint.
