All done through the app on my phone then an invitation sent to the husband for him to set his app up easy!Then I set the motion sensor areas where I wanted it to record when anything entered the area and lastly pairing it with Alexa so she can tell me when someone is at the door.I've had it in place now for 4 weeks and think it's brilliant! I never miss anyone at the door. I can tell delivery people to leave parcels either with a neighbour or on the doorstep if I know I will be back soon.I can see my family coming and going which as a neurotic parent settles my nerves as they are growing up and wanting "independence" and of anyone wanted to come and visit my house uninvited then I can question them through the doorbell. Just brilliant!

The picture is very clear and it's range control is easily adjusted to suit your situation.It is not the easiest of things to install, I'm lucky to have an electrician as best friend so he has installed it for me. I also liked the fact that they provided you with a transformer and a screwdriver so I didn't have to raid my toolbox looking for the correct screwdrivers. The transformer was easy enough to fit and it was just a case of taking of the old door bell and fitting the new 1, took me around half an hour all in. I wouldn't advise doing this yourself unless you feel competent with electrics. Once all wired up it was pretty straight forward I downloaded the app and went through the screens connected it to the app and we was good to go. I like the fact that you can set up motion zones and set timers for when you want to be alerted to any motion, I currently have it set off from 11pm to 8am, the events still record but we do not get the notifications, this is good as you do not get disturbed at night when cats and foxes walk by. The motion sensor is really good, it senses shadows and car lights, which is good if anyone maybe lurking around. Overall I think it was a good buy, and for the peace of mind it gives us, you cannot put a price on that, when I am out and my wife is home alone, she can see who knocks on the door before opening so she feels safe. It is a really good quality product, well built and as it is hard wired you do not have to charge it like the other versions.

The manual makes no mention of this possibility, but I eventually found the info online. Turns out its charging an internal battery and you just have to wait (couple of hours for me)To store recordings you need to pay £2.50/month (or £25/year). Unfortunate, but commercial reality. I think its probably worth it though, and its cheaper than most rival systems.

And as of yet I am unaware of any other way of saving my videos. You will still receive notifications that there is motion, that you can view real-time. But it will not be recorded. So a couple of things to consider. Now that being said . I love it ,it looks superb and lights up when anyone approaches.It is the best gizmo I own. The microphone is also pretty sensitive and produces clear audio of what's happening in the area of the camera and beyond.You can use the app to set one or more detection zones that will trigger notifications on your phone and/or cause the plug-in chime to alert you of movement in those areas.When someone actually presses the bell, the doorbell itself, your phone and any associated chimes will sound pretty instantly to let you know someone is at the door. You tap the notification on your phone and the ring app opens and loads the video feed from the camera. From here you can either enable audio to hear what's going on without them hearing you, "answer" the ring and start a two way conversation or just "hang up" and ignore the ring.After about a month, I definitely won't be happy with a normal doorbell again after experiencing the convenience of not having to get up to answer to dodgy salesmen or that friend who never calls before visiting!
Avoid this. There are better options. I had a video doorbell (where birds live) for years and loved it. I moved to a new home and decided to give this a try since it was highly rated and the subscription was less expensive. What a mistake. I get delayed notifications (sometimes), false and repetitive notifications. And if you don't pay, you can't see anything other than the live feed. I'm looking forward to this thing breaking

In order to get the full use of the doorbell pro and other devices, you'll need to subscribe to Cloud for £25 PA if you want to save/review your videos.Box contains everything which you need for the installation but if you, like me are not good at DIY stuff then you need an electrician to wire it up as it does require a transformer to be fitted inside your main fuse box.It's worth checking the Wi-Fi strenght at your end before you install. Anyhow, Ring Doorbell Pro is a great product so it's worth investing in some booster. If you don't have good WIFI coverage then you might need a WIFI booster like Ring Chime Pro which is around £40.Personalisation:Box contains changeable bell covers to suit your own preference of colour which are very handy and can be easily swapped. Don't lose the screw driver which comes with the Ring bell as it's a special screw to change the cover. This Pro model is definitely slimmer than the Ring 2 too.Negative Points:In my personal opinion, the only thing they needs improving here is the lag when answering the doorbell on the app, it is a bit slow and sometimes the person has already walked away by the time, notification/video appears on the phone.
