I got this couple weeks ago and have been using it since then. It was quite easy to install with all the hardware included. I like that mounting plate was separate and the camera just clicked on to it. I had the Ring app on my phone already and adding of the device to the app was very intuitive. Having all the ring devices in one app is also very convenient. I was able to setup motion detection and alerts very easily. Also like that I define the motion zones. The in-unit lights is definite a plus. The siren is pretty loud and effective as well. It will definitely scare away any unwanted guests.

I am beyond impressed with this security camera!! The picture/video quality is top notch during the day and at night!! It has a great field of view and responds extremely well to motion. I love that I can configure the level of motion I want to be notified on (for example, I'm not too concerned about the neighborhood cats walking by so I can filter this out). I'm still playing around with the settings in the app but so far it's working perfectly. It performs extremely well even at night time which is huge for me. The built in LED lights also cover a great area adding an extra layer of protection. I also love that I can hear sounds and talk back through it (plus it comes with a built in siren). So far I have had no issues with it disconnecting from my Wi-Fi network. It looks very sleek, sophisticated, and seems very sturdy. It comes with all the hardware you need to mount it and keep the cables flush with the wall (I took the pictures before we finalized the cable position). I would definitely recommend this camera and am going to be getting myself a second one to cover the other half of my property.

The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Plug-In provides video, audio, siren and lights in one outdoor camera that is simple to install. The 1090p video quality is perfect for my needs and provides good images even at night. The bird eye view and 3D motion detection are interesting new additions to the camera that I probably won’t use much of but are nice to have. The camera is easy to mount with just four included screws. I like that there is the option to change which direction you want to mount it by sliding the back piece, so a ceiling mount is possible. The power source will differ depending on the camera version purchased but the camera can be easily changed to another power source if desired as all the cameras are the same aside from what is included in the box. I chose the plug-in version which includes a long usb-c cable that needs to be plugged into an outlet. The downside of this is having to find an outlet that is within reach of the camera. I luckily do have an outlet nearby that the included cable was long enough to reach so I don’t have to worry about charging a battery. I like that I have the option of adding a battery (or 2 batteries) or a solar panel to charge but it would be an added expense.Like most Ring products, this camera requires a paid Ring Protect subscription to access a lot of the services. There is no local storage so it relies on cloud storage with the option to download. Without the subscription, I can still view live video and alerts but like most people, I would want more functions out of a home security camera. I like that this works quite easily with my Echo Show (and other Alexa products) but unfortunately does not seem to be compatible with other assistant devices. The app is easy to use and requires minimal set-up.Aesthetically, it looks similar to the rest of the Ring lineup with a blocky design. I don’t find it to be the most sleek but it does look a bit updated and cleaner from previous generations. I like that this has lights but is smaller in size than a floodlight. The lights are enough for a small area like a porch. The siren is loud enough for the rare use of trying to scare off unwanted people but not something I see myself using often enough to care about the volume.I probably wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t want to pay for a subscription service or already have devices with other systems that are not compatible. However, if you are already paying for Ring Protect and using Ring products or willing to, then this would be a great addition to your home security system.

This was my first RING product, so I was excited to experience what they have to offer. Overall this camera/spot light works very well. It’s quite bright and the camera is pretty good for what we need it for. Now my concerns existed with this being a wired camera but a few things eased my mind- 1. You can have this cut down past the prongs and hard wired into your homes electric. 2. If you don’t have that ability I read ring will send you a new camera if it’s ruined by an intruder (as long as you’ve filed a police report). Those 2 things alone eased my mind right away and I felt comfortable choosing the wired camera. Definitely recommend to someone seeking some security.
The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro, Plug-In model is a great device. Install was very straightforward and painless. The main use for this device will be to keep an eye on kids while they are out of direct eyesight in the yard. This is especially important around the pool with the excellent motion detection and alerting feature. It records the motion detected and keeps it for future viewing in the app.In addition, the other functions including the nightlight, IR view at night, and large field of view are all useful in detecting and tracking the various wildlife that occasionally meanders across the yard. All in all, this is a great addition to our home.
Ring Spotlight Camera was so easy to install, my husband was able to install and set up in less than a hour. The interface on the app is easy to understand, the entire thing was an easy set up for movement sensitivity. No worries about catching a stray cat on the camera I can filter that out. I have a huge front area I need monitored and I was able to get a perfect angle to the two entryways of my porch. I like that it was a speaker and mic, I can talk to delivery persons and confirm they have the right address. This was an annoying problem before getting Ring, I always had to get up and do a face to face, not anymore! Camera itself is a great size, not too noticeable or intimidating. This Spotlight Cam Pro Plug In is a great device. It has excellent clarity, very clear sound quality, night vision in color, and 3D motion detection. You really can't go wrong choosing this device! I can set up whatever I need the Ring to do from anywhere that I am as well. I found this device to be relatively easy to install. Because it has a ball joint type base, it did add a little time to the installation process. However, I was able to put it up in about 45 minutes and this device is a wired device. This Ring records, is easy to playback, and you can see and hear everything like you were there. I love that and have never felt more secure. I would adore being able to customize the outside, like cartoons on a Ring for a daycare. However, this Ring is the bee's knees! I am an older lady with a bad back and not technically inclined but I did the installation myself. The directions are easy to understand and fantastic! I highly recommend this Cam to everyone and regularly bring it up in conversations to people who are interested in security for their family. This is the device I would pick over and over again!
Received this from Tryit sampling and I would say this would be great for those out in the middle of no where for the spotlight. I say this because it is very bright so if live near a busy road it will light the road up. The quality at night wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. The siren is something for sure to scare someone off because it is loud and would be noticed. Just not something for myself I would like to use unless using towards the back of my yard or barn. I do like the option of using rechargeable batteries and be cordless would be nice. Also have to pay for a monthly or yearly subscription to keep using which I like ones that don’t have to have the subscription.
I highly recommend this Ring Spotlight Cam Pro, specifically the plug in version. Here’s why - first of all, if you set up the plug in a secure fashion (meaning at a height that is not easily accessible) then criminals will not want to steal it nor will it be ease to unplug. I love the plug in version because I am not someone who is willing to get high up every 2-3 months to obtain the battery for charging; hence knowing that I always have a connection which is also secure, puts me at peace of mind. From unboxing to setting up the camera, took me about 30 mins total - a lot of this was adjusting the camera to the view we wanted and also fine tuning some adjustments within the app itself which I still have to work on. From unboxing to setting up the camera, took me about 30 mins total - a lot of this was adjusting the camera to the view we wanted and also fine tuning some adjustments within the app itself which I still have to work on. It’s very very easy to set up; the instructions provided in the box were super easy to follow as well. From plug in to connection of wifi and seeing a live video took me 4 mins or less! The video during the day is super crisp clear, more clearer if you take off the bird’s eye view. During the night, it is also clear and this gets clearer once the side lights came on as a subject passed in its view. This light is pretty darn bright and illuminated a good chunk of the backyard, as well put the subject in proper view. The sirens are a great feature I love….for example we had thieves break into the garage…so with this option, not only will I get an alert that is just 2-3 seconds delayed to your app, BUT I have the ability on the app to turn this siren alarm on while seeing everything that is happening. With this said, I am also able to speak clearly to someone in the backyard; in return they can speak back very clearly to me and they hear me with almost no background clutter noises. The speaker on this unit is pretty large which allows for a great background free conversation. I love that you can customize a lot of features on the app AND you can connect it to Alexa. Also, with some fine tuning, you can connect it to fire stick and have the view come up on your television when someone is at your door step / in view of the camera. Overall, this is a highly highly recommended camera which I have not found any fault at thus far. I have other outdoor cameras (plug in as well) which is no way near this comparison.
