The camera is a piece of garbage that costs over $100 just to purchase, and it doesn't even capture half of the stuff going on even when set to it's highest sensitivity. When it does manage to capture something, the video is so pixelated you can't see a damned thing so it's pretty useless. Also, if you want to actually save recordings of anything you have to pay extra for an annual subscription! My recommedation: don't waste your resources on this company.

Keeps installing update and won't work

I bought the first one about a week ago. It had a strong internet connection but every few minutes it says it's installing an up date and I can't view anything while it does this. I was on the phone with Ring support for about an hour troubleshooting. At the end of the call the lady said it was a firmware issue and she'd have to look into it and would get back to me. About a day or so later I got an email from support that had the same troubleshooting steps that were already done numerous times. I took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it. The second one is doing the exact same thing. Strong internet connection and works for less than 5 minutes then says it's installing an update and I can't access anything. Like Having It

Have been wanting one and there was a fantastic sale going on so I purchased it then. I needed the battery operated ring since my front door isn't wired, The free installation with totaltech really made all the difference. First the app was installed on my phone and set up for me and then explained to me. Then the video doorbell was installed and tested to make sure it worked. Was also taught how to change the battery (I purchased a backup) which was good because the battery in it was only at a 30% charge and I had to change it the next day. It takes about 5 hours to charge the battery. It's been working great since then. I also like the neighborhood alert feature. Have a 30 day free trial for saving the video. Not up to scratch

This has the potential to be a very useful product but this can only be demonstrated when it is actually online. Despite installing wifi boosters and trying a whole manner of things, the front door Ring goes offline repeatedly. It's now been offline for nearly a week without any warning signal which has meant we've had no doorbell. It's especially obvious when there is bad weather. We looked at all the advice but nothing has really worked. It's very disappointing for the price. When it does work, it is really useful and the video captures a wide area of footage which is great. The motion sensor is also useful to check on post and anything else happening outside the door.But, all in all, hugely disappointing.

Ring3 Doorbell is the Best!

I purchased this doorbell to replace my Honeywell Home doorbell which constantly lost connection. I was apprehensive at first to purchase a battery powered doorbell because I was afraid that I would need to charge the battery constantly. I have been using the doorbell for 1 month and still at 75% battery power. I have the doorbell connected to Chime as well. Now I get alerts by phone and Chime...the customized ring tones are a bonus. The camera works great, in fact it's far better than our Google Nest cameras for alerting us of visitors actually when they are there and not hours after. The no drill mount (must purchase separately) is brilliant and eliminates the need to drill holes in our vinyl siding. This is one of the best smart home purchases we made.

Terrible for home security

For being a home security device, you need to be able to rely on being able to see what's happening when it happens. But with this product, you'll either get notifications too late or you'll never get notifications. When you go to use the live view, it either takes way too long to load or doesn't load at all. When watching the live view, after 2 minutes of watching live view, you'll always get a notification that live view failed. You constantly have to keep reconnecting to live view which is horrible if an incident is happening and you keep having to reconnect to it! Unsafe and the company DO NOT care

My boyfriend finally came over and charged it for me but never put it back outside because I had to call them to get a pass for the 2 step verification. I updated the phone number with his phone number to gain access to my account. The door bell remained in the house on the bar in my kitchen. This company do not care about the concerns of their customers and not only that my boyfriend was able to watch me while I watch him. Theres no telling who all and who else can access your phone camera while the ring app is in use or what else can they access on your phone while millions of people carry their phone around with them all day and every day theirs no telling what all other people and access without your permission such as photos, save passwords, and credit cards info. I do plan on taking this concern to my local new also with the screen recording I have of me watching myself from my boyfriend phone on the Cera that's on my phone while I'm using the RING app from work.
