I had Ring Video Doorbell 2 on my front door and my garage door to watch activity in the front of my house. These are easy to install physically with the provided tools. I did have a purchase a masonry bit to get through the stone to install. Once installed, configuring it through the Ring app was very straight forward and easy. Ring makes this easy to setup with the step by step instructions and detailed screens. I was able to get this fully configured through the Ring app in less than 15 minutes. I like how you can silence the notifications if you are in the area. I like the night vision, I actually caught someone canvassing the area and testing doors to see if they were unlocked. I like the feeling of security and being able to look at activity over the night. ... MoreI had Ring Video Doorbell 2 on my front door and my garage door to watch activity in the front of my house. Which encouraged me to get Ring stick-up cameras.

The original Ring we had for several years would no longer charge. Thought about trying to repair but for the money it was more practical to just replace it. Looked around and found I can get a newer version of the original model for way less than newer tech. I was not super happy with the original Ring because it couldn’t handle bright daylight well (too washed out) and night vision was burry. But it worked well enough that I really couldn’t justify spending a lot more money for something more modern. So I found this one. The bronze finish is a new option which I really like. Installation was easy, however I did need to switch out the wall mount plate because the doorbell attaches differently than the original. Better actually. The Ring doorbell is great for the added security it provides. I can monitor my doorstep from anywhere with the Ring app on my phone. This is especially helpful when I am away from home. I also receive notifications whenever there is any activity at my doorstep, which gives me peace of mind knowing that my home is safe. The Ring doorbell is also a great investment for managing parcels, plus it also adds a layer of security to my home. It is easy to set up, has a wide scope camera, and provides convenient features such as communication with delivery persons. I highly recommend the Ring doorbell to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable home security solution. It's a small price to pay for the peace of mind it offers.

I absolutely love our Ring Doorbell 2 (2nd generation). We decided to go with the unwired version and it was super easy to self install! I have to be honest, we didn’t buy it due to crime, but because we live in Colorado and have a ton of wildlife in our neighborhood. I didn’t want to miss seeing them. Sure, crime is everywhere and I do feel much more comfortable knowing that if anything does happen, it will be recorded. However, of all the doorbell cameras I researched the Ring doorbell seems to have the best quality picture and it certainly does not disappoint. It is very clear and concise. I had steered away from getting one for a while because I thought it had to be wired and in that case I would need professional installation. I had steered away from getting one for a while because I thought it had to be wired and in that case I would need professional installation. With the no wired version, it literally look me 5 min to unscrew our old doorbell and mount the Ring. I really appreciate that we can choose for it not to record our neighbors or cars just passing by. I recommend it to everyone….whether you are wanting to catch crime events or just see what is going on in your neighborhood. Oh, and did I mention you can even get updates of other neighbors activity and concerns if they choose to post it? Amazing!
I purchased the camera after ongoing security issues at my apartment complex and surrounding neighborhood. It allowed me to monitor activity outside of my front door, see who is/was at my door when I was not home, and capture images to share with law enforcement. I also discovered that the door bell feature was quite useful, even without separately purchasing the chime. I further appreciated the ability to communicate with anyone at my door - for example, I could communicate with the maintenance crew during their visit to make a repair while I was away. Aesthetically, the doorbell is very nice, it’s super simple to install with the No drill installation, and simple to take down for charging and remove from the door if you move. The only negative I can think of is that you cannot purchase replacement adhesive strips without purchasing the entire installation kit which seems like a waste of money and unneeded product which is the reason I have yet to set it up at my new home.
Video quality is pretty good on it, day time viewing is great. Night vision is a little dark to see, but it is on me due to where I had to mount it. I mounted it directly on the door, the only problem with that is it picks up the white trimming around the door more than anything in the dark. My solution was to put a small motion activated light under it, it allows me to see the footage alright if someone happens in the dark. Under better mounting circumstances it works well at night Overall I am very happy with this doorbell camera I would definitely recommend it. I know a lot of people wouldn’t like the subscription part, but it makes sense since they’re storing your cameras footage. It’s less of a worry than a thief taking an sd card out of similar. Even just have the camera there has already acted as a deterrent, those neighbors have walked by but haven’t done anything near my porch since. The only people that have been up there are people that should be like the mail and such. With this I feel way more secure!
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas last year and he installed it by removing the old doorbell and wiring it into the electric. (I also purchased the Alexa that pairs with it, but I'll make a separate review for that.)It's been a life saver! Not only can we answer the door when we're away, but we can answer it from inside the house, when we don't recognize the person at the door.Today, there was a suspicious looking van in our neighborhood, going door-to-door, soliciting work (allegedly) and although I was home, I heard their footsteps on my front porch. Then. they bent down and looked in our windows! I was thankful that I could use this doorbell to run them off, but I alerted my husband (who was at work), to please pull up the Ring from his phone and ... MoreI purchased this for my husband for Christmas last year and he installed it by removing the old doorbell and wiring it into the electric. Hee-hee. I also like the fact that our community can share information with each other on the app. This was a great purchase and we are adding multiple devices around our property. I would absolutely recommend this product to everyone I know!
Brought this ring doorbell after reading many reviews on many different sites. I had a cheaper doorbell camera which worked good for a year or so but in the last few months the battery didn’t last 2 days and the picture quality was awful.I am so glad I brought this ring doorbell. I live on a very busy estate (new build with lorries, diggers etc going past) & the battery just informed that it is at 30% after 16 days. I have to stress I do live on a very busy estate (exit to the estate is by my house) and the motion is set to the highest. I am not only impressed by the battery life but the picture quality is amazing, the playback is excellent & I am Very impressed with how quickly it connects to my phone when someone rings the door bell. I purchased this because I can't see who is at my front door without opening it. As a mature lady living alone I felt it gave me security. It is a great idea but taking the unit off to charge it is proving tricky. The two screws are tiny and awkward to screw back in from underneath. The first time I attempted it I dropped both screws never to be seen again as I have a gravel path. I purchased replacement screws and this time I put a dustsheet down! As my eyesight is no longer 20/20 and my manual dexterity isn't what it was is is a real palaver, the unit actually fell while I was attempting to fix the first screw. It is working but now has a small dent in the casing. It does allow you to see who is at the door when someone presses the bell if they are still there and the battery life is good. However most of the functionality requires you to subscribe to, what I consider to be, a rather expensive service. Without that subscription you only have live view and can't see what has just happened.Despite other devices having a good WiFi reception at the installation point, the Ring doorbell consistently shows a poor reception and drops out every so often. The doorbell is loud outside, but inside you can hardly hear it. The chime is also very quiet even on full volume so you don't always hear someone at the door. The lag between motion being detected and you being notified on the app is horrendous - and appears to be a server issue ... MoreIt does allow you to see who is at the door when someone presses the bell if they are still there and the battery life is good. The chime is also very quiet even on full volume so you don't always hear someone at the door. The lag between motion being detected and you being notified on the app is horrendous - and appears to be a server issue with Ring (the WiFi, Network, and 5G are all fine). By the time you've been notified of a ring on the door, the person has gone. The camera doesn't produce particularly good images, compared to what you would expect for Full HD. The compression seems to be too high.If you don't take up the subscription then the Ring doorbell is virtually useless, apart from looking out of the camera live. All in all, just a cheap bit of kit and not worth the price.
