Ring Video Doorbell Wired (Certified Refurbished) in Black

I am very happy with the purchase of the Ring video doorbell. Thanks to it, I feel safe in my own home. The camera has a very good quality image, even at night. The advantage is also two-way communication and notifications on the smartphone. The application is intuitive and allows remote monitoring of the house. A great solution is the ability to save videos from the camera. Although the application is paid, it costs little and is worth paying this price. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to feel safe in their own home.

I love my ring camera so much. This is the best thing I’ve ever bought. I never answer my door anymore. The world is getting crazy and scary and this is such a peaceful way that I can sleep well at night. I love that you can rewind after your record. The picture is just like you’re looking actually at the person and it has night vision camera too. I love that I can just rewind and see what happened And this is incredible and I also love that I can talk to people through it and it was super easy to install and it’s really easy to take off and charge your battery too. This is incredible.

Video quality is excellent. Day time viewing is great; even at night the picture is crisp and not much difference from day time. Well, this new Ring came out, and it was less than 100$ thus I said, let’s try it… Appearance: Dimensions wise, this one is pretty small (5.1”x2.4”x 1.1”). The button is very noticeably a button; to me this is important as with my old knock off doorbell, people would constantly push the camera lenses thinking that they rang the doorbell. Differences between this Ring Doorbell and Previous versions: I did some internet research prior to deciding for it, and I could only find a few things: (1) it supports only 2.4 GHz networks instead of being dual band, (2) it only works as a fully wired setup (3) it has a single faceplate and (4)it is way cheaper than previous models. To me, it wasn’t a big deal the doorbell not being dual band, I planned on using the 2.4 GHz band anyway as I have been with my knockoff brand doorbell. There are several obstructions along the way (two thick walls and some furniture between the door and my repeater, and my router is in the basement), and the 2.4 GHz network is usually better for that albeit a bit slower. This doorbell requires to have an existing wired doorbell setup, unlike previous iterations that you could have fully battery powered doorbell. Yet the setup is only needed for power. You will be bypassing the existing doorbell chime, thus, you will either need to purchase the model that include the Ring Chime (+20$), purchase a separate Ring Chime (30-50$) or use a compatible Alexa device as the speaker(s). I am using a few of my echoes and I like the setup a whole bunch. The Ring Video Doorbell has a single face plate (black) vs 4 different color ones for the Pro. I did search online for other faceplates and I found a pearl white one going for about 15$ but I am sticking with the black one. The newer model is about 70% cheaper. About 60$ vs the 200$ MSRP for the Pro. Issues so far: I haven’t had a lot of issues, but I already had one. I had some connectivity issues right of the bat. The fact that this doorbell bypasses the hardwired chime exacerbates this. No connectivity means no doorbell whether you have power or not. A few resets, I moved my repeater closer and it appear the problem was corrected. However, I point it out because when compared to my old 2.4 GHz knock-off video doorbell, I never had an issue. I am considering this as a one off but I will update my review if this issue persists. Bottom line What I liked: Compatibility with Alexa. When Amazon acquired Ring a while back, I just knew that integration with Echo devices would probably only improve but even knowing that, I was impressed. You can define specific devices you want them to work with. It allows for tons of customization including ringtones. I currently have two echo dots and an echo spot serving as my alerts and this setup works great. The video playback on the Echo Spot is smooth as silk with minimal Lag. I will be linking it up to my new Echo Show when it gets here, next week. I don’t envision any issues linking it up, but I will update my review if needed. It features an advanced motion detection system that allows for customizable alert motion zones. It is extremely intuitive to setup. Thumbs up, all the way. It was very easy to install It looks elegant yet sleek. It is cheaper than any previous Ring Model. What I dislike so far. It supports only 2.4 GHz networks. This is not a major negative as 2.4 GHz networks usually allow for a better range, especially if there are obstructions along the way. Still, it is worth mentioning. I have a hardwired doorbell chime that is useless now. If my WIFI fails at any point, my doorbell is dead in the water. I already had connectivity issues. They might have been a one off so I am not necessarily overreacting to them but I will update my review if needed. The first two negatives were design choices that allowed lowering the price point and they were something I knew coming in. However, they are still significant enough that I called them out. Overall, for the price, this is actually a very good device. If you already have a Ring doorbell, this item is not for you. If you don’t, and you are ok with a fully WIFI driven, hard wired power doorbell camera, I strongly recommend it.

We’ve had ours for quite some time now and rarely have any issues. I like that there is a 2 way audio on this. The sound is not the greatest but it works fine. We do use the chime with it and our internet connection is top notch but we still have occasional glitches. The video is clear but the night vision is meh. This doorbell serves its purpose and the picture is good enough. You can not see far in the distance if it is dark out so you need light if your wanting to see your yard. The floodlight is a great addition for that. Overall for the price and its purpose we are happy with this. I don’t like having a subscription for every device but that’s a me problem.

I bought 4 of these to use as CAMERAS, not doorbells, for all 4 sides of my house. They cost less than cameras, and work great for that purpose. I bought 4 "24V 0.5A Power Supply 100V-240V AC to DC 24 Volt 12W Adapter ETL Listed Class 2 Power Adapter 6ft Power Cord with 5.5x2.1mm Tip" from ***** at $8 each, then cut off the 5.5x2 1mm tips, and connected the wires of the power supplies directly to the back of the doorbells. Those little power supplies work perfectly to power the cameras. Once you connect the power supply wires to the doorbell, just plug into any nearby wall outlet, follow the included Ring instructions on how to pair and connect to your Wi-Fi, and you're good to go! [Rewarded Review] Great Replacement, but watch for additional fees

This replaced our older larger Ring device that was no longer holding a charge. The new unit is much smaller, better resolution, and is directly connected to our original doorbell wiring with no battery. Installation was a bit challenging because apparently our 30 year old original door chimes and transformer finally gave out. I called Ring support and they were fantastic. They walked me through replacing the transformer and bypassing the or old chimes. Then they helped me reconnect my existing Ring remote chime to the new device. Only one disappointment was the Ring video subscription. I was going to try and reuse the old Ring device elsewhere, but they were asking for a completely new annual subscription fee. This was a gift, title on box- ring Doorbell Wired. So buyer knew we had a hardwire doorbell, bought it for us. The instructions are ridiculous, our handyman followed them to the letter on the brochure in the box, then in order to connect device, we needed the code on the side of the unit (which is to the side of the building so we couldn’t see it) Handyman came back, took it down, got the code, put it back. THEN had to take it off to make it “pair”, the pair button is inside the face plate. Insane. After that, realized that the perfectly good working indoor chime will never again be active. So, if you aren’t carrying a phone around for the app to alert you - say you are with napping children in upstairs, the real doorbell will NEVER RING.This product might have ... MoreThis was a gift, title on box- ring Doorbell Wired.
