Roborock Q8 Max+ Plus Robot Vacuum & Mop Cleaner with Self-Emptying - Black

Better than expected!Due to back injuries, vacuuming and mopping were very difficult so decided to get a robot cleaner. I did a lot of research before buying the Roborock. I based my choice on reliability of company, meeting my cleaning needs, and pricing. It did cost more than I expected to spend, but it has performed so well, I find it well worth the price paid. I knew my model did only damp mopping, but for basic cleaning after a day of baking, or when it rains to clean footprints, it’s sufficient for normal use. One day after running the robot, I pulled out our expensive vacuum cleaner to follow up and it found very little dirt or hair that the robot missed. Mostly came from corners that the Roborock has difficulty getting into. Mapping was straightforward, and using the phone app to set up cleaning was easy. The unit is quieter than my regular vacuum, and while it is VERY loud when emptying, that is less than a minute so not an issue. I have been using it for over a month now, and have no complaints.

The Roborock Q8+. Your not gonna be disappointed. My wife was not thrilled I bought another gadget. I ran the machine it did as reviewed by others it vacuumed and mopped perfect , the app has so many functions. You have the no go lines you can draw on the map, it also has a function if you have carpet, you have the option to turn the mop off before it starts vacuuming the carpeted area. So the robot ran it goes back to dock, the machine has a vaccum in the dock that sucks all the debris out of the dust cup. I havent had to empty the bag in the dock but it looks to holds alot. My whole downstairs is wood so the only chore is picking up all the area rugs and chairs and stools. I'm a regular guy so the price of 500.00 for a vaccum was staggering. 3 dogs and 4 cats is no trouble for this machine!!

As a property manager business owner for 75 homes on the beach, I wish we could put these in all the homes with how well it cleans. My wife and I have been blown away how well it vacuums and even mops. Our expectations were about 7.5/10 and reality is 9.5/10. The only reason I wouldn’t give the last .5 is due to the mop portion always on and doesn’t raise up when not using. But that doesn’t bother me too much as my home is all hard wood (minus bedroom which is blocked) and kind of keeps the wood floor clean, even if just brushing up against it. Maybe one day too they will have a reservoir to fill with water in the tower so it doesn’t have to be refilled every time at the robot. With the built in LIDAR of this robot, it never bangs into anything as it has the whole home and desired cleaning space mapped out already from the initial setup. It is amazing what this machine can do, seriously goes beyond my expectations for the cost. We have 3 different schedules with options of mop, vacuum..no mop.. vacuum….etc. it’s a very cool software and a great app for this system. I will also say the packaging made me feel confident in the machine as it was really well packaged too. I have been raving to everyone about this. One thing previous robots always had an issue with was the transition of doorways and transition to carpet and back to hardwood. This robot has sensors that you can also hear transition when going from one surface to another and even one floor grain to another. All around they put a lot of thought into the customization of the app and what I can control and edit. I would buy this item over anything else I’ve seen and read. I highly recommend this product as someone with 3 large shedding dogs and 4 indoor cats. This thing makes our floor look untouched!! Can also set invisible walls and boundaries so the robot doesn’t enter rooms you don’t want it going into. We have a couple rooms with “made up walls” on the app that walls aren’t there and it actually works. I’m just impressed, I’ve tried all modes and everything has been great. Even did a 4 cycle run to see how it did and completed my whole house all on one charge and emptied as needed. I only rave on products I truly believe in, and this one will be a great addition to our home for years to come.Only con: I wish it came with a couple more vacuum bags. Comes with 2 but would like 2 more if possible as I’m sure each will only last a month due to the amount of our animals hair. Our problem though, not theirs. Great product!!

Defective unit

It took less than a month for this unit to give me a Fan Error. I am suspecting it was defective or if can’t handle fine dirt that gets dragged into my house by small children. That first month of use was amazing though! I wish it would have worked out. The mapping and navigating was very smart and efficient. It knew how to move on and off of thin rugs that don’t tend to lay flat. It had great suction and adjusted for more suction on rugs. I can’t comment on the mopping part because I knew it was going to be too ineffective in our house of kids and pets. I noticed that if you don’t empty the unit into the base the filter does get clogged. It got clogged once and it completed a whole run without detecting that the waste wasn’t moving the robot reservoir.

Fantastic cleaning

Amazing! I have bought and returned other products as they just don’t work well. I have had this a few weeks. We have 2 cats and dark vinyl floors. Despite daily hoovering dust bunnies were a nightmare. This robot hoover cleans magnificently! It also cleans in a logical manner. Spots aren’t missed. Excellent object avoidance so if you want a quick clean and don’t have time to remove things from the floor, it works it out. You can choose the rooms or do a full clean. Haven’t tried mopping function yet. I love that it self empties (a little loud like a large hoover for a few seconds) and would recommend getting that option. Not exactly the best bang for the buck.

As a long time RR owner, I will say this is not a huge improvement over my S5 Max. Obstacle avoidance leaves a lot to be desired. It routinely runs over the legs of my chairs, dog toys, and anything of the like, and I assure you all avoidance detection is turned on. When it does detect an object to avoid it sadly leaves a huge area within the proximity of the obstruction unclean.Another disappointment is the fact that I have to continually purchase filters for the auto empty bin. I understand Roblox is trying to make money, however it is not an environmentally friendly solution, it is a major inconvenience to have to continuously reorder, not to mention they are quite costly.Other than that it seems to be the same build quality you expect from RR.

Set and forget, almost!

Having owned a DeeBot N8+ I was getting frustrated with it losing the map of it needed to be picked up. Still a great Robot Vac.Decided to try Roborock and go for something that has more automation. I can say the app is much better than my experience with DeeBot and the robot had also never failed to find itself if I've had to pick it up for cleaning the roller.Having the mops lift and be able to do cleaning cycles in a single run is great! This thing WORKS, period.

I bought a Bobsweep Dustin first, but didn’t open it once it arrived because I dug into the REAL “verified purchase” reviews and it just fails all the time. So, my brother has a Q Revo series of this brand and he sent me a link. I did it need that expensive of a model so I focused on this Q8 because of the suction rating, the dual brush and the cool looking app with the 3D mapping. I did not want the “+” model because I don’t have pets and I don’t think i’ll need to empty the dust bin every time it cleans. I set up this Q8 for the first time and it was SO easy. I have been researching vaccums for months/years and always wanted a roborock. Dang, I am mad that I waited. I absolutley love my Q8 max plus! The mapping is the most amazing thing I have seen. The app is incredible. You can watch it create your map live and see where it needs to finish. Haveing it spot clean a certain spot and watch it drive over and do its job is cool. It creates a three D map and other types of maps if you want. It is crazy watching it work. It will go around the room edging it off, and then choose the best back and forth route for the room. It is like it is being controlled by a human. It is like it is being controlled by a human. I know other vaccums now with Lidar scanning can do the same, but in my experience this vaccum is worth every penny. I have hard wood floors and carpet. I attach the mop when I want the hard wood to be cleaned. It basically is a swiffer going around your room. I didn’t need a mop to get tough stains, just something that cleaned dust and made the room look magnificent. So the mop on the q8 works great for me. I just purchased some roborock cleaning solution that will take it up a notch as well (some say the swiffer fluid can work as well). Highly recommend this product!
