This is a 99% positive review of this machine. My mother in law got this machine for my wife and I for our wedding present and we couldn't be happier! She originally bought us a fully automated machine like something you might find at Sur La Table or William Sonoma, and when it was a decent machine for push and go, just after about 4 weeks we notices that it was inconsistent, wasn't giving us that rich creme we loved when going to coffee shops, and steaming milk was a bit weird being that it was automated. We returned the machine and with the money I did more research and found the Appartamento. My wife and I couldn't be happier since. We have our favorite coffee "Kauai Coffee Estate Roast" dialed in to perfection for espresso and just love this machine. With other ... MoreThis is a 99% positive review of this machine. We have our favorite coffee "Kauai Coffee Estate Roast" dialed in to perfection for espresso and just love this machine. With other coffees it takes about a shot to figure out grind size ect. and were up and running. We use this machine every single day both of us for our commute to work coffees and sometimes twice a day for an afternoon shot. We also use it at night for those ever amazing espresso martinis. This machine has held up fantastic over the last 2 years. I'm just about to do a maintenance on it and going to inspect the screen and seal and then take apart the E61 Group Head to clean and inspect the parts for hard water, even though we have a whole house water filtration ya never know. The only downside I can see for this machine is the water tank is a touch to small in my opinion and although that isn't a huge deal breaker, I wish there was an easier way to visually see the water level. There's been a few times where I went to brew a shot and as soon as I started the green light would blink signaling low water and the shot would stop. The machine is a touch loud too which isn't a massive deal, but I do get up for work at 430 am and I'm just glad my wife is a heavy sleeper so she barely hears it. Even after two years I still love fine tuning my espresso and next I would be looking to upgrade my grinder to something a bit more commercial grade as I think that would be a huge difference in coffee profile and flavor.

I've been extremely impressed with my Rocket Appartamento since upgrading from a Rancilio Silvia about 2 months ago! My first shots on this matched the best I was able to get out of years of temperature surfing on Silvia & it's only gotten better from there! Being able to pull shots & steam at the same time has been an even better upgrade than I was expecting. The massive steam power took a little getting used to but that's not a complaint!Beyond the espresso, the build quality & attention to detail are top notch - this machine feels rock solid & the magnetic locking drip tray is a nice touch. I love the look of the e61 group head & Rocket's styling; I'm very happy to see this sitting on my counter every day.The Clive customer service was great as always! I bought this machine but when it arrived, the side panel was loose and shifted, and it would not turn on. I ended up swapping it for the Quvkmill Lucca M58, which works beautifully! Thanks Clive customer support for the swift exchange!
Absolutely love this machine! Wish I would have quit wasting time on other machines and bought this sooner. This machine is consistent, produces great espresso/crema every time. I use a Baratza Sette 270 grinder.
We are very happy with our Rocket Appartamento. This is the first espresso machine we own, so I can not compare it to others. But I’d say we make better coffee at home than we get at Starbucks and most coffee shops. It took a bit of time to get the hang of it. It looks gorgeous, easy to clean and operate. I especially appreciate the powerful steam wand, takes seconds to steam a cup of milk. The only downside I can think of is 15 min warm up time.
Rocket makes an incredible machine. Craftsmanship and effective engineering with every part and function. I don’t miss Starbucks or other local coffee shops one bit. So good.
Love this machine. I make about 6 drinks per day for me and my family and it has suited me well. Compact, great steam pressure, and looks great. I just wish it had some sort of PID/shot timer, but that's something I can live without. Very pleased!
We have had so many espresso machines over the last 35 years that we stopped counting. All of them were at best stop-gap. That's over! This machine espresses coffee - it doesn't pretend, it doesn't come close, it doesn't disappoint. We can now stand toe-to-toe with the best coffee houses we have ever visited to savor the wonderful flavors. We are still searching for our favorite roast - and enjoying the discovery process.
We’ve had the rocket appartamento for about 4 months now and I have no idea how we lived without it. This machine really holds its own. We’ve hosted get togethers and made 20+ coffees back to back and it pulled consistent shots. Though there was a learning curve it did not take too long to get the hang of it with the amount of resources that Clive has to offer. From the YouTube videos, phone support, online articles, and follow up emails Clive has carried us from pre-purchase to today. That’s really what has made this machine so worth it.There are a couple of things to note.. none of these are things are big deals to us, but it’s good to know:I wish it had some kind of indicator when the water gets low.. we don’t seem to remember to fill it before it runs out and ... MoreWe’ve had the rocket appartamento for about 4 months now and I have no idea how we lived without it.
