Beautiful sound, crisp and clear. Nice looking. Switches well between sounds: mic to headphone. Works well with Audacity. However, I don't like the stand. You can't do it up tight unless you don't mind holding it up so it doesn't fall over. Mic' bag that's included is nice but feels a little redundant when one needs the stand and the pop shield to stay with it. I leave the shield on and it all in the box it comes in. Pop shield seems to work ok. On the whole a lovely mic for the money, just not sure about the accessories.

Post 2-year review. Does a great job and works well for video prod, voice narration and team meetings/calls. The only fault is that the ring mount is very poor quality and Rode know this. If you do a google search, you can find a number of people saying their NT USB ring mount (that holds the pop filter and mic) snapped/broke and this happened to me also. I've had to order spare part from a bloke on ebay Australia otherwise there is just nothing around or distributors that sell parts for these locally. Rode did refer their NZ warranty repairer but after multiple attempts they either don't exist, have no physical shop and have no info on their website. Great mic overall though other than this.

Rode's NT-USB condenser mic has been on the market for several years. You'll find many reviews on the Internet for this mic. This review summarizes my experience. It's an excellent performer. Yes, there are better microphones on the market. They're more expensive or lack items you're going to buy anyway. The pop filter works. I had wondered whether the included pop filter would prove adequate. It deals with plosive sounds very well, especially for the money. The mic plugs directly into your laptop or dock. I'm using Audacity to record audio on a MacBook Pro. I needed a USB-A to USB-C converter. Once the mic was plugged in it "just worked." There's a direct headphone jack in the mic that avoids delays caused audio processing. There are mics on the market with newer ... MoreRode's NT-USB condenser mic has been on the market for several years. You'll find many reviews on the Internet for this mic. This mic is amazing! I wanted something simple, easy but with great quality (compared to having been using the computer mic), to produce good quality music. This mic exceeded my expectations, and they were reasonably high! So happy with the quality, knobs and buttons are smooth etc. The pop filter is also a very useful item to have. I am 15, worked during the holidays (to earn the dosh) and have wanted to start recording my music, after doing some research into good quality mics, that are also budget friendly - this came out as one of the best options and I 100% agree!! The set up is unbelievably easy, I plug it straight into GarageBand on an iMac, and it connects and starts straight away! This mic isn't overly warm and doesn't have the proximity effect that some podcasters love. But I think it sounds clear and natural, bright but not overly bright. The pickup pattern is pretty wide so you will have background noise, but in a quiet environment, this mic will sound great on the edge of a desk or even with two people. For the money and ease of a USB mic it works great. I personally don't use the headphone jack.
I am very impressed with my early and inexperienced results using the Rode NT-USB Condenser Microphone. As a singer (soprano) I needed a microphone that would record just my voice without any background noise. The Rode NT-USB has done this without any complicated set up. The computer whirring away behind, but reasonably close cannot be detected, and page turns from the score are similarly unheard. I have only recently started recording (in lock-down for the self-isolation choir) so it was important to me that the set up and use were simple and compatible with a regular home computer system. It really was just plug in and use with the Rode NT-USB. I have used Audacity and the software immediately recognized the microphone. I needed to put the microphone onto a regular stand and the only difficulty I experienced was finding a screwdriver wide enough to unscrew the insert inside the mounting ring. An appropriately sized accessory would have been a useful and welcome addition the contents.
I’m no expert in microphones so this is a very amateur review! Bought this product for game streaming purposes and so far it has been fantastic (used for a few weeks). My voice sounds crisp and dynamic especially when up close to the grill. I do have to use audio filters such as noise suppression and noise gates to mute out typing and white background noise but there have been no issues. The mic has weight to it and feels very sturdy, also love that it comes with a 6m cable and pop filter. Only thing I would say is missing is a gain knob, seeing that most other mics have this, not sure why they didn’t put one on, but this hasn’t been a huge issue as I hardly change the input volume in the settings anyway. I’ve paired the microphone with the RODE PS1 boom arm so I’m ... MoreI’m no expert in microphones so this is a very amateur review! I’ve paired the microphone with the RODE PS1 boom arm so I’m able to place it at an optimal height/level which has been great. I was tossing up between this and AT2020 and have no regrets picking this one up! It’s a great USB mic option with everything you need in one package. Also kudos to DJ City for shipping the product the next day I ordered even when it said it was back ordered on the site (maybe my timing was just too good?). Nonetheless, I was super impressed with the speed of service.
Honestly I bought this for video conferencing, so I won’t pretend as though I have demanding needs. I’m definitely not an audio expert either. That being said, I have been very impressed by the sound quality and construction. Recordings of my voice sound clear, natural, and full. People on the other end of calls say the audio is exception, and I love how easy set up was (there was basically no set up; it’s very plug and play). The build quality is excellent. The mic itself is entirely metal and very sturdy. The dials are also all metal and rotate smoothly with hard stops at the extremes. The pop filter and mount could be a little better. The support hardware is plastic, and while the pop filter mesh is metal, the frame is also plastic. It seems solid though. I bought a third party stand with isolating foam on the bottom that is much better. I’m not taking any stars off though because the included stand, while not perfect, is adequate and seems fair for the price. My assumption is that anyone with demanding needs will be using a third party stand or boom anyway.
Looked towards getting this product after I watched a Linus Tech Tips review. I did a sync recording of both the mic and my phone and the quality is vastly different (obviously). But I especially like how there's significantly less background noise and hum compared to my phone which makes levelling out the audio much easier to do. The audio from the mic is really smooth and clear and pleasant to listen to. Great quality mic that also looks flashy on my desk, and the pop filter is a great plus too. Also hot tip: check for a coupon in the item window to save more off this item if you want to.
I bought this mic as a replacement for a Blue Yeti that I was using. The old mic had some serious USB port issues, and It was becoming too irritating to keep up with, so I decided to go with this one after a bit of research. The sound is great, I feel like it captures a more natural tone than the Yeti. Live monitoring is great, and the fact that this mic lets you adjust the live monitor mix is fantastic. Makes it very versatile for both listening and recording at the same time. I use this mic mainly for Teaching online classes, attending online classes, and amateur podcasting. It works for all 3 of those perfectly with absolutely 0 issue with hardware. Plug and play feature makes setup a breeze. The fact that this mic has no gain knob makes it a little irritating to adjust levels, but its easy to work around that. The lack of a mute button just makes me have to adjust the mix knob if I want to listen without a live monitor. Both of these issues have very easy, very simple workarounds. The complaint is more about convenience than operation, because this mic does everything I need it to. Great build quality, came with a nice little bag.
