This is a simple but effective mount for Rode large diaphragm microphones, and possibly others as well. Although not shown in images of this item, it comes with a locking ring suitable for Rode microphones. Unlike the SM6 shock mount and pop shield bundled with a number of these microphones, the compact design of this stand mount enables close mic'ing without risk of damage to fragile instruments.

Though the model number is the same, this is not identical to the mount for the Rode NTR ribbon mic. It is heavier duty and stronger. This one is interchangeable, but not as high a quality. That said, it works fine and is of high enough quality to exceed most others.

Holds the mic like a momma holds a newborn. With this stand mount I can play the piano (I never could before) and sing like a canary. I hate that chirping sound; maybe I'll send this stand mount back. I would, but there's the whole piano thing. Modern life is SO complex.

The Rode NTR Ribbon Mic has a very fat base. The extension on the other basic clip Rode sells isn't long enough to attach the clip properly. This clip is obviously not a suspension mount. I may need that with the Rode NTR. If I do, I'll get a Rode SM6. I already have one here for the Rode NTK tube mic.
I am currently on my second one of these, which I use for my Rode Podcaster USB Mic. When you tighten it to keep the mic in place, the threaded hole that the bolt goes in to is made of plastic, so it gets stripped easily. The mic is heavy enough that you have to tighten it quite a bit. The threaded receiver being made of plastic seems to be a weak point in the construction.
As an engineer within a fast moving production each week, my RODE overheads are of key importance, but are also the first to get knocked over or detached improperly. The clip itself is a good design, however the plastic is a tad brittle, and will easily break if it hits the ground. Otherwise, I am completely happy with it's construction and utility. If there was one made from aluminum or a higher impact plastic, that might save me from having to replace one each year.
Rode lists this RM2 stand mount as being compatible with the NT1-A. While it does hold the Rode NT1-A microphone by the bottom threaded collar, there is significant play. This is because the ID of the RM2 mounting hole is way larger than the OD of the threaded collar on the NT1-A. It was off to my lathe to make a plastic bushing to take up the slop and center the threaded collar within the RM2 stand mount. It would only cost Rode a few pennies to include a plastic bushing. I don't see how Rode can claim that the NT1-A is compatible with this RM2 mount otherwise.
The part is very solid and sturdy and seems like it will last a bit. Only wish it could also accommodate the Rode windscreen that came with my Rode NT USB,
Broke the original mount for the NT-USB and got mixed reviews about the RM2 as a replacement. The RM2 works as in it holds up the mic and connects it to the stand that comes with the NT-USB but, massive BUT here, you cannot use the pop filter that comes with the NT-USB because it won't fit. (To be more specific, it's that the threading isn't inbuild into the mount like the original one, so the threading is too far away on the silver ring.) There's only room for either this mount or the filter.
I bought two of these because the mounts that came with my 1st-Generation Rode NT1s never seemed to thread properly on the mic stand. These replacements solved that issue... but as others have mentioned, the ring size is larger than the original (attached photo shows the difference).I'm not sure it matters from a practical perspective, but the lock ring from the original mount had a raised lip that fit snugly. The new mount comes with a flat lock ring -- you can still get your microphone firmly mounted, but it's just not as perfect of a fit. Also note in the photo that this mount puts your microphone further away from the stand than the original NT1 mount did.
