After initially wanting the Rode Go II mic, I decided against it and when with the DJI mic set. No regrets in that purchase - but Rode definitely has better versatility of their cables.Now I can use the DJI mic with the Insta360 Flow gimbal - which I could not do with the provided DJI cables.

It's pretty difficult to review new cables, since you can't know how durable they will end up being. But, this one does have the feel of being well made. The coil keeps it out of the way. Most importantly, it does what it was designed to do. Using it with a Rode GO II receiver an iPhone 12 Pro Max, so an adapter is required. Would rather have a cable from Rode that goes directly from the receiver to a lightning port. Yes, it does seem a bit pricey for what it is, but if it lasts the life of the receiver, I will certainly feel like I got my money's worth.

The rode SC7 adapter is a great product if you are a content creator/photographer/film maker using a smart phone to capture your photos or videos. The SC7 adapter allows the TRRS (three-ring coil) to connect your smart phone to your lavalier/wireless mics. Note if using smart phones with a lightning style charging connection be sure to have the lightning to headphone jack adapter since newer versions of iphones and androids do not have the traditional headphone jack. Over all great product that offers a good alternative to use smart phones as main source of capturing content.

Ok.. I was highly recommend this would work on my iPhone to be able to record sound onto it while bypassing its internal microphone. I have the iPhone 8. So I used the adapter that comes with the phone to connect to this since the iPhone no longer has a headphone jack. Did not work. I tried on on my iPad. Did not work. So I figured maybe it was defective. I bough a second Rode SC7. Same issue. Tried it on multiple different iPhones. No luck. Useless. I was trying to live stream and did not want the iPhones internal microphone to pick up sound.
I am thrilled by the simplicity and function of this adapter. It's well constructed, the coiling of the cable is substantial. I love the color coded jacks as well as the cable, so it can easily be found and identified.I am a firm believer in purchasing the branded accessories for the branded components, and this adapter works seamlessly with the Rode Wireless Go microphones
This is a well made cable that works just as described. I had to order this cable so that I could connect our Rode Wireless Go receiver to our laptop computer for our live-stream sessions. I really like the fact that each plug is a different color which makes connection to our laptop less confusing. Be sure to check out the RODE webpage for video's on how to connect their Wireless Go to your computer as you may need an additional cable to convert the 3.5mm plug to a USB on your computer.
NICO, and anyone else that thinks they have the incorrect cable for their iPhone you're wrong... you have the correct cable for it, but there are two pieces you will need... you need the rode sc7, and the headphone to lightning cable adapter for iPhone. Connect those two pieces and you're good to go. I don't know why rode just doesn't make a single cable for the iPhone. I guess Apple won't allow it because they don't get a cut from it... smh. And if you have the DJI action 2 you will need the sc16 usbC to usbC... hope this helps!!
The salesperson said this would work on my H6 Zoom recorder/Canon R6 camera. But it didn't. I went to Samy's and the salesperson said it would work on my iPhone, not on my camera. He sold me the right one and it worked!
Typical world-class Rode quality. Needed this one to work with a iPhone, and it does the job beautifully. Not sure what else to say except that it works with everything BUT my iPhone 7. As to why, well... Apply, really. But it's being used with an iPhone 6 to record some ion-car vlogs with my trusty Rode Mini Mic Me, and it's doing cable-y things like moving electrons along to create sound. Science, baby.High-quality materials, flashy red color to match my underwear, and even color-coded so you know that the gray end goes toward the Apple, because it's old.In all seriousness, though, this is the one you need to connect your Rode shotgun mic to an Apple iPhone, prior to the 7. And no one else had it in stock. Best Buy coming through again!
I was burning brain cells trying to figure out why my iPhone 14 pro max wouldnt connect with my rode wireless go 2. Came across a thread that led me to this wonderful coiled cord and solved every issue. Now if only my iPhone would play back sound through its own speakers after recording without having to unplug this thing. That's a phone issue tho
