I was very pleased that the stage bundle at ProSound was about the same price as most other vendors were charging for the keyboard only. I am very happy with the sounds of the keyboard and the action of the keybed, this of course is subjective and I already knew exactly what I was purchasing because I had auditioned this keyboard beforehand and knew it was what I wanted. The sustain pedal was nicer than I expected with a switch on the side to change modes from normally open to normally closed. I like the gold color of the pedal, nice touch. The stand is quite nice, in fact it is one of the best X-stands I own. I particularly like the clamping system that offers more height adjustment selections than all of my other X-stands. Roland has always been my board of choice. Going back to the days of the original Juno, I have included Roland in my arsenal!As I stated in my headline, the sounds are fantastic. What disappointed me was the feel. One of the boards I still own and use frequently is an A-30 controller. Mated to a plethora of sound modules (Roland included), I love the feel. I was less than happy with the feel. My son, on the other hand, who is a student at the Univ. of the Arts in Philly, had a different take on the board. He quickly said that he could get past the feel just to utilize the sounds in some of his latest projects. Another keyboard player who attended a church concert we had a couple of weeks ago also remarked that he liked it. Soooooooooo, I guess it's staying. This is a digital synth so when using along with an analog synth the difference in sound quality is very obvious. Be as that may! This synth does it all and some! 76 keys is the way to go if your using this more as a workstation and want to use a lot of piano presets. They keys are a bit stiff and heavy and very velocity sensitive. Lots of cool modes on this Juno make it the perfect workhorse synth! The black plastic material feels kind of flimsy but should hold up. The screen is awesome and well lit much easier to navigate presets and sounds than other way more expensive synths. This keyboard even have dog barking presets to rustle your dogs jimmies. Every band needs one of these.

The keyboard itself is great! Great sound and very user friendly in this price point. In my opinion the experience was even better and it is truly a hassle free process. I would compare it to purchasing from CARMAX you don’t deal with the all the dreadful things you think about from a car dealership. The price is clear, the closing is simple no negotiation where your feeling your being taken advantage of and they really do finance most people. Great company, great service and will definitely be buying more gear from them.

A few nice fat synth sounds and a few useful leads-so no complaints.My beef is the keyboard action (ie keybed). I've been playing keys for 30 years so somewhat particular on the keybed. I hate the overly springy/spongy feel of some synths. Feels cheap and its hard to play 'fast' riffs or arpeggios. I also didn't want a fully weighted keyboard like most 88's have from yamaha, roland or korg in the $800-1000 range. I want to be able to play something that feels a little piano-ish but still light enough I can play organ and it not feel sluggish. I even called Roland prior to buying this one. Its keybed is a bit more weighted than I personally like for playing organ passages but frankly compared to the Yamaha MX88 or Korg units I find the Roland DS88 the lightest touch, quickest response in the 'weighted keybed' category in this price range. (yamaha mx88 felt a bit spongy/sluggish to me too for the record). Naturally these three top brands all have great keybeds on their $2k-3K synths/boards but as a part timer I just can't rationalize spending that much and frankly asking for a decent keybed on a $1000 instrument should NOT be a big ask. (Casio seems to be able to produce good keybeds on their stuff??) Come on Roland/Korg/Yamaha. Do us weekend road warriors a favor and build a nice performance synth with professional, semi weighted FULL SIZED keys. If you want a layman like me to show you the light....just holler

Absolutely priceless, convenient, solid integrated hardware. Keys are not too springy. Lightweight with excellent sounds! My best friend in FL. had the 88 via DSW software we swap songs, expansions etc, without one single issue.Thanks Roland, your longevity.... Speaker for itself!

I prefer 73 or 76 key keyboards as 61 is too small (I only carry one board), and 88 too long. I really loved the DS-88 keybed, but it was 88 keys, so I kept waiting. I tried the FA-07, but didn't like the plasticky feel for that amount of money. My Juno Stage is robust, has a decent key action, metal housing, but heavy. I didn't want to compromise, and wanted something that could do everything the Juno Stage does and more. I had my heart set on the new Yamaha MODX7, and went to purchase. I was very disappointed after playing it due to the smaller keys and poor (cheap action). Anyway, I noticed that Roland just came out with this 76 key Juno-76. So, I picked one up. Sound quality is better than my Juno Stage. Still has all my favorite sounds, but the new DS sounds are way better than the standard ones. Love the EXP downloadables also. Real time volume control of both layers and splits is great - no more menu diving. Also, I can now use samples for my band intros - yeah! The key bed is weighted synth action, not weighted piano action. Still, it's better than the Yamaha. My Juno Stage is now for sale. Loving this - lightweight, portable, do it all and more. Now, let's say you don't have a lot of synthesizing knowledge and instead of creating your own sounds you simply need a great keyboard "right out of the box". That's the reason I mentioned earlier my hands-on knowledge of the symths of the '70's & '80's. The Roland Juno DS76 contains about 500 (yes, 500!!!) what I deem "stage ready' sounds! Magnificent sounds that can be used "as-is" and will get the job DONE!... The Juno DS faithfully replicates (or emulates, if you will) the wonderful tones of an OBXa, a CS80, a Mini-Korg, Matrix-6, Mini-Moog, and, of course, the Jupiter-8 and the Juno-106!!!... Nearly all the fabulous patches of the Fantom series have been included! Yes, this is a LOT of praise for one little keyboard, but, at THIS PRICE POINT, it dive-bombs & obliterates its competition!... (And no, Roland HASN'T paid me-- sigh...) Simply put, I am so impressed (and on love) with this keyboard that I've decided to acquire a SECOND one-- because two Juno DS' are worth far more than any single 2,000 dollar keyboard!!!... And so, in closing, I'd be criminally negligent if I didn't even mention the pattern sequencer on board this unit. If you, like me, are given to music as a means of sheer fun, excitement and joy (and not always "heartbeat" serious), then the pattern sequencer can occupy ALL the last moments of your life- if you allow it!!!...,,LOL!... It is EXTREMELY easy to use (and master), and its polyphonic & multi-timbral capabilities allow for some really thick, deep, complex, and smooth sounding loops! (And simple ones, of course) You'll be surprised how straight-forward, intuitive and logical the sequence of operations is!... But, don't take my word for it! Get YOUR hands (and ears) on one... You, too, will be a proud Juno DS owner!!!.. Rawk ON!!!...
