Best oil per dollar. I use it in my Suzuki Hayabusa as well as the Ford F350 460/gas engine and the 240Z L28/gas engine. Lots of detergent, great stability at various temperatures. Flows well when cold and doesnt thin out much when hot: GREAT for air/oil cooled engines as well, I noticed smoother shifting below 50 when using this oil in my Bandit 1200s: compared to a 15w40 or 10w40. Works very well with a wet clutch, as well as with flat tappet lifters. Consider this a well rounded oil for the cost concious performance minded individual. I will add, nothing has worked better in my motorcycles and Ive tried Delo 400, Rotella 15w40, Mobile 1 5w40 and 15w40 diesel oils, redline, amsoil, and the ecstar synthetic and conventional. This is the BEST oil you can get stateside for Saabs, Subarus, along with other forced induction cars. Its marketed as a HEAVY DUTY DIESEL OIL but... dont be alarmed folks, this merely applies to the ADDITIVE PACKAGES that are added into this motor oil. Diesel engines generally require much higher lubricity and wear protection vs standard gasoline engines glow plugs, carbon soot, etc BUT this oil works wonders on our turbocharged cars.Dont be worried about the 5W-40 oil grade designation as the oil behaves more like a 0-weight oil such as the factory specs of my Saab and other newer turbocharged cars calling for Mobil 1 0W-30 or 0W-40. I believe the call for Mobil 1 0W-30/40 oils are pure AUTOMOTIVE POLITICS due to GM destroying Saab and leaving loyal enthusiasts ... MoreThis is the BEST oil you can get stateside for Saabs, Subarus, along with other forced induction cars. Its marketed as a HEAVY DUTY DIESEL OIL but... dont be alarmed folks, this merely applies to the ADDITIVE PACKAGES that are added into this motor oil. Surely these brands are doing something right if results can be tested for the truth. Conclusion: if you wanna prolong your special turbocharged cars and minimize future engine problems: A bottle of Shell Rotella in your crankcase with a bottle of Techron Fuel System cleaner will keep that pesky overcharging mechanic away! Oh and if youre making more power with smoother engine operation then it merely shows your engine is HAPPY. Try out Shell Rotell folks. Only other oils Id recommend is German Castrol aka GC which are special oils Made in Germany and are.

The rebate was clearly only for one gallon purchases. I bought singles and received ALL of my rebates. The other bad reviewers were folks complaining about deliveries and that has absolutely nothing to do with the product. Hate on the delivery folks not the product.I highly recommend this oil!

After hearing and reading rave reviews on this oil, and reading posts about it on oil-focused sites and forums, I thought I would give it a try. Im running it in my 04 Grand Caravan with the 3.3L V6. Running a half-and-half mix of 5w-40 and 15w-40. Let me say this, my van has never ran so well just by changing the brand and type of oil I am using. It currently has 209k on it and runs like a top.I switched to diesel oil because it has a higher film strength, better wear packs, and better detergent packs than gas oil does. I want my van to run as long as possible. I am one of those people that drives a vehicle until the wheels fall off, so they say. Ive used other brands before and they have worked well, however, since changing to Rotella T6, my van has more power ... MoreAfter hearing and reading rave reviews on this oil, and reading posts about it on oil-focused sites and forums, I thought I would give it a try. Ive used other brands before and they have worked well, however, since changing to Rotella T6, my van has more power and response than I ever remember it having. Rotella and other Shell products will be my only brand now. Stocked up on quite a bit of Rotella in all its major types, T4, T5, T6.
Great heavy diesel engine oil. Used oil analysis has shown a reduction from 17ppm to 11ppm of iron, a 35.3% reduction, after switching to Rotella T6 5W-40 at 35,000 miles (well beyond "break in" period of engine). Additionally aluminum is down from 7ppm to 2ppm, a 71.4% reduction. Kind of wild, right ? My driving habits have not changed; I live in the same place and commute to the same office via mostly the same route.Anyway, highly recommend when you can find it. Pre-COVID this oil was an go-to, especially when you could find it at ~$22/gal on sale. Post COVID shutdown there were also the brown outs and winter storms in Texas, which were rumored to also effect supply of this fantastic HDEO.
I have a 17 year old Volvo TAMD41P-A diesel in my 31' recreational trawler. Prior engine oils for the prior owner (11 years) and me have been 15-40 dino oils, until I switched to full synthetic engine oil, also 15-40. Operating temperature dropped 5 degrees at standard cruising RPM of 1800 to 2200 (only one of two thermostats in place most of that time), the engine runs quieter and more smoothly. Based on research I have found, I know that my engine is running cleaner, with other attributes of reduced internal corrosion, less wear, etc. After installing 2 new thermostats, the engine runs precisely on specification for operating temperature through the full range of RPM, right up to wide open throttle, 3800 (end of the day 10 minute spike to clean the exhaust system ... MoreI have a 17 year old Volvo TAMD41P-A diesel in my 31' recreational trawler. Further, smoke when starting is greatly diminished to almost zero. I am completely satisfied that I am doing all that I can to accomplish optimal engine performance and protection with Rotella T6 over the last two years, and I am comfortable recommending Rotella T6 to boating friends with diesels, confident in the cost/benefit of using the best oil quality, grade and viscosity for my application.
I use T6 5W-40 for all non catalyst engines from small engines to tractors and older gas trucks.I live in ND where the temps range from -30F to 100F in a season and this oil has performed excellent in both gas and diesels. The only thing that sucks is the ZDDP will smoke o2 sensors in newer vehicles so I quit using it there.Nice to have one oil do the job of three.
Hi, my opinion of the Rotella T6 5W40 oil is that it's definitely better than the Mcraft 10W30 I was using. Already seeing fuel mileage gains in comparison loaded and unloaded. The Rotella definitely pumps up better upon start up as well and just makes the engine sound better at idle overall compared to the 10W30 Mcraft. I'm an M One man but I don't think it meets Ford's newest spec for the 6.7 liter whereas the T6 does. I had consistently used Mcraft 15W40 on an 05 6.0 that I'd had for years and about 70K miles. I had purchased it used with about 60K on it and drove it till it had over 130K. That engine at time of trade in for the 6.7 could hide an exhaust manifold leak with the injector noise it made. I know because I had the exhaust manifolds and gaskets and hardware replaced under extended warranty because of excessive noise and carbon tracking, one was cracked as well. I thought it was going to quiet down a lot but it didn't because most of the noise was coming from the injectors. The injectors were still functioning properly but the noise they made was incredible. You could literally hear the thing coming from about a half mile away, it could pull though, great truck and great engine. Hopefully the Rotella will be a wise step for me with the 19 6.7, now that is an amazing engine. Factory stock to factory stock compared to the 6.0 there is no comparison, 6.7 all the way any day, what an engine and what a truck. Thanks
I own a towing company. We are classified as emergency and NEED every truck to start, run well, and last a long duration. Over the years weve tried everything. Currently, we run older 7.3 diesels and new 6.7 diesels. There is hands down a HUGE difference in cold starting and gas mileage, and performance. So much easier for the pumps, and a smother running engine. Its no joke, this oil has been used since it came out in out trucks, and our 7.3's have zero internal issues with between 500k and 800k miles on some of the engines. Our 21' and 22' model year trucks come from the dealership new, oil drained, and t6 put in to make sure the engines get the best protection right from the start.Yeller Towing, Elk River
I've used the Rotella T6 5w-40 for years and years in motorcycles with wet clutches, trucks, and tractors and had no problems. Most notably I've used it in: 2004 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 (wet clutch) and put 30k+ miles on it and I used it in my 2011 F-150 for it's entire life (bought new). The F-150 is impressive because it had the 3.5L Ecoboost, the first year of that engine, and I put over 218k miles on it with nothing done to the engine except oil changes and spark plug changes. I also use this in my tractors, I used it in my 2002 Dodge 2500 with the Cummins (bought new, sold at 168k miles), and other vehicles. I love this oil.
