Rowenta Garment Pro Style Care Steamer

was not sturdy at all. water dripped from the steamer head. I will return because it did not meet my expectations for a Rowenta product. I have only been using Rowenta products for years and this is the first time I was not pleased or satisfied with the quality of a product. My last garment steamer was very sturdy and lasted for years, only had for a few weeks and this one one does not seem to hold up well at all.

Quite disappointed!!! I ended up ordering three because the first two didn’t have the screen. They sent me a third which also didn’t have the screen. Each time I called the representatives were always kind, friendly and professional. The each confirmed that the item should have came with the screen. After the third one with no screen I ended up doing research to find it a lot less expensive on other sites. I thought the professional rate on this site would have given me the best price and quality.

Change is not always good

So much has changed since my first Rowenta in 1997. The sound it makes if trying to use it dry on cotton setting is annoying. It says to use Synthetic for dry ironing, but heat level is not sufficient for cotton (I quilt). And I can not turn the iron off.... at least I can not get the setting to go to auto off. Not sure if I will keep it or return it. Just started using it.

Only iron I would buy!!

I purchased a Rowenta Promaster X-cel Iron at BB&B a few years ago and it is the only iron that did not drip (until it dropped on its rear and bottom broke). I purchased a new one today (10/12/24) and very happy it is on sale!! I will be much more careful in the future....will not set on the dryer while washing machine is running-vibration from washer pushed old iron off washing machine. I have learned my lesson! Thanks for the sale price!!

Rowena SteamForce Pro+

When I received my SteamForce Pro iron, I completely read the accompanying manual to learn about the settings and proper use of the iron. In the instructions, it said to remove the protective sticker from the sole plate before use. There was no protective sticker on this iron. Once I added water as instructed, there was a vibrating, pumping sound when I plugged it in and held it in the horizontal position. There was no mention of this sound in the instruction booklet. I called customer support to ask about the missing protective sticker and this unusual sound. I asked if this iron might have been returned by another customer who removed the sticker and was also confused by the unusual sound. Seamstress for brides and bridesmaids

I had a Rowenta steamer before and LOVED it. I accidentally broke the water container, I could not find a replacement and purchased the new steamer. I am not as happy with the new one because the hose is shorter and the water tank doesn't hold as much water. I have a difficult time getting the hose into the resting slide and the garment hanger is HUGE and clunky.

Stopped working after a year

Worked great after a year (no warranty now)Turns on but is not producing steam. I went through the manual, attempting the descaling process but no luck. I took it apart myself to troubleshoot as there is no repairer. I guess the water that I always noticed leaking from the base corroded the electrical components. Would not recommend and reading these negative reviews on other steamers, I won't even attempt contacting costumer service.

Worst Iron Ever

Worst. Iron. Ever. I’ve used Rowenta irons forever. I replaced an older model Rowenta last year with this iron. It’s going in the trash today! I sew a lot and do a lot of alterations for myself and family as well as ironing cotton and linen clothes that don’t do well with just steaming. The button to change the mode (temperature) is right where one holds the iron, so it’s constantly changing from what I’ve set it at as I use it—set it on linen and my hand bumps the mode change and it moves to nylon. There is no option to keep the iron on “steam” so you have to constantly press the steam button to keep the iron steaming. There is no spray button to spray a mist to dampen the cloth when needed. It was so easy and they looked as if they had just been laundered and pressed without having to take them off the rods. Spring & fall cleaning just became so much easier. Next it was time to tackle laundry. We wear a lot of cotton clothing and I was ready to see just how well the Rowenta would perform. It didn't let me down. I've included a photos of my husband's 2XL cotton shirt to show the before & after. The screen on the unit provides just enough tension to allow me to quickly touch up the shirt including the pocket and collar & do the front and back without removing it from the unit. The bristles on the attachment allow just enough stretch on the fabric to allow the steam to penetrate & the wrinkles to quickly release. All of my laundry was ready for wear in much less time than it would be had I used my traditional iron.The steamer takes up a very small footprint and easily stores next to my dryer fully assembled. I'm very pleased with the garment steamer and highly recommend it.

The hose was already assembled and attached. The water compartment was a very easy to remove attachment within the base and unlike competition brand models, refilling was done easily without having to turn it over or spilling water in the process. Simply gently pull the water compartment, open the top, fill the water to the top and put it back in. No friction, no difficulty, no spillage.One of my least favorite aspects of other steamers I have used, most definitely ALL portable /handheld ones as well as some “full sized steamers, is that you have o refill the water VERY frequently. Depending on what you are steaming , perhaps even one garment at a time.WATER CAPACITY: That was definitely not the case with this product. The water capacity was a whopping 52oz and best of all, the instructions specifically stated that the unit is designed for use with any water! All my prior units have been designed to be used with distilled water which has always added to the hassle and cost of the steaming process. This awesome machine saved me from having to make sure I always carried distilled water!PERFECT FOR DELICATE FABRIC INCLUDING SILK: The 52 oz went a long way! The time I used this most, I had to steam 7 LONG dresses all made of two to three layers of silk. On some dresses, depending on the level of wrinkleness, I had to steam 2 or 3 of the layers as well. I normally hate steaming silk though I love wearing them. The reason being that silk easily retains the water splash marks from the steamers. But this one did not even have any large enough splashes that would make any markings on the dresses! All very fine particle mist steam without unwanted splatter! All dresses were steamed and finished and I still had plenty of water left.POWER ON: From the minute you power on the device, I counted 30 seconds exactly until the full force steam started coming. This was another huge improvement over other professional grade steamers I had used. (I don’t know how the box says 45 seconds but by my count the start was at 30 seconds)INCLUDED ACCESSORIES; the unit included 4 very handy accessories including a lint remover, steam bonnet, a nice protective mitten/glove, and a fabric brush you could use on fabric couches or furniture. The glove was a very welcome addition which I always thought all steamers should include but somehow always failed to do so. The lint remover was perfect since it was a loose item not needing to be attached, making it the perfect tool to use with or without the steamer.APPEARANCE; the appearance of this unit was very slick, modern, and of high quality. I got the black color and couldn’t have been more impressed with the aesthetics.SOLID POLE; one of my complaints about a previous model steamer I had used was that the pole was not stable and kept collapsing down after being put upright. This was never the issue with this Rowenta model. Not once did the pole lose stability or collapse or even give the impression that it wasn’t there to stay put. This made my life so much easier when I had to steam several long and otherwise unruly pieces.ANTI SLIP GRIP HANGER: the hanger had a velvet finish making it PERFECT for the clothes to stay put and not slide.GREAT FOR NON TRADITIONAL USES: one of the purposes I absolutely love steaming vs ironing, is that I have found myself constantly using my steamers for disinfecting my little one’s toys and furniture. She has a lot of electronic toys which cannot be washed and dried, so I always found myself steaming them to disinfect them. This is a must have for any parent- I would comfortably say! Short of buying chemically loaded sprays (which I would never recommend around any baby) this can disinfect 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses off of otherwise non-wipeable surfaces - perfect for use on and off flu seasons.ERGONOMIC HANDLE: the handle is very ergonomically designed perfect for my arthritic hands. The entire duration of my steaming sessions, I never once felt the need to put the handle down.The pole is also long enough for the very long garments or fabrics. Time and time again, when steaming, the pole is too short to reach the edges and stretching it made the entire unit tip over. Not once was this an issue here. The unit was incredibly sturdy and the handle was long enough to reach otherwise hard to reach areas.ADJUSTABLE STEAM LEVELS : depending on the fabric you’re working with , this unit gives you the option to adjust to 5 levels of steam pressure. This is perfect since not all fabric can tolerate intense steam or depending on the wrinkle level, some may not need to be subject to so much steam that a lot of models just standardize for everyone.STORAGE: I loved how this model had wheels that made it easy to move it from the laundry room into our master bedroom. We had a mix of hard and carpet flooring between the two places and it handled the carpet area perfectly without dragging. The unit is also very compact and takes very little space on the floor. Definitely unlike a lot of bulky units I have used in the past. This is easily an amazing professional grade steamer for use even in condos and other small spacesOverall, I am in complete love with this Rowenta model. I am very impressed with the sturdiness, quality, ease of use, and functionality. Without a doubt, this is my favorite steamer and now I have 100% trust and love to the Rowenta brand.
