I recently discovered that the brand of food I was serving my boxer did not have all the nutrients her body required (found out that RC does!). In addition to that my dog is very picky, I've gone through many brands trying to find the perfect taste for her "sophisticated" pallet. I discovered RC for boxer dogs and although the price tag is higher, it outlasts other brands which cost less. My dog can hardly wait until the food hits her bowl before scarfing it down (also, due to the shape of the pieces there is NO MESS from her wrinkly mush face dropping kibbles). Since feeding RC I've noticed a shinier coat, more energy, and other noticeable health improvements. This food is worth every penny. I donβt have a boxer. I have 2 King Charles spaniel mixes and a Pomeranian. The little guy has had heart disease for 5 years now. When he was diagnosed, the vet said he should go on a low salt diet. RC Boxer is geared towards a healthy heart and it was easy to find, so we went with that one. All 3 dogs love the food. I have tried to switch them to other brands on occasion, but they really only like the Boxer food. Itβs been out of stock everywhere for over a month. I finally found it here just before I ran out. :)

We've had our Leo on the Boxer formula for nearly 3 years now. Past 6 months or so he is not as interested in his food. He paces around the table as if he is getting himself talked into eating it, but eventually does. Just not nearly as much as he used to. Just seems like we are directing him to eat all the time now.

When my boxer was a puppy Iβd always ask other boxer owners when meeting them what they fed their boxers, and the overwhelming response was Royal Canin. After a few months I made the switch for my boxer and we have stayed with it, from puppy food to dog food. The main things I notice are the ease of him eating and the look of his coat. Itβs obvious how much easier it is for him to eat this dry food versus other dry food. The funny little zig-zag shape really makes a difference for his underbite, and Iβm no longer having to walk around the living room picking up all the pieces of food that he dropped while he was trying to eat. I also liked the puppy food stated the boxer specific muscles and energy that it supported and nourished while he was still young and maturing.
I used grain free until my 1.5 year old boxer developed a tumor in her chest. Vets told me to get off grain-free. I switched to this breed specific and although it has meal and some other by-product ingredients that are not desirable, my dogβs heart issue and tumor went away! This has the most taurine as well. I just wish the protein was higher quality and not chicken by-product meal and pork meal.
I have been feeding my two boxers Royal Canin Boxer formula for almost a year now and they are doing fantastic. I have a female 9 years and a male 8 years and They absolutely love it. They love it when I open a new bag and insist on a scoop of the fresh dog food even though thier dish is already full. The fact that it is packaged in a very durable foil lined bag certainly helps In preserving the high quality food fresh. My dogs were having skin and coat issues with the other brand foods. Royal Canin has a correct amount of protein and thier skin and coat started improved only after just a couple of weeks. I would never change thier food from Royal Canin.Previous other high end brand dog foods would produce gastric issues like vomiting and loose stool and gas. And if thereβs one thing boxers all seem to have in common is pungent gas when eating the wrong food. I have the Royal Canin set up on auto delivery so I never have to worry about running out. I live in a very small town so having a breed specific food locally is unlikely.
Our first Boxer was exclusively on Royal Canin Boxer Adult and lived to be 15 years old! Anyone can tell you, that is OLD for a Boxer. She kept a lean build which was better for her joints as she was aging. We now have a 1.5 year old female boxer and we did a blend of Royal Canin with another food - She picks all of the Royal Canin Boxer pieces out! We are now feeding her 100% Boxer Adult from Royal Canin. Both our Boxers had no issues with allergies to this blend and both are lean build while free-feeding this food. Highly recommend!
My boxer is still a puppy and she was not eating her food anymore. She would go days without eating because she didn't like it. I switched her food and she snarfs this down and she has gained weight to where she looks healthier all around, she's happy, energized all of the time, and she's built muscle. It hasn't changed her stool either when I switched her food. I'm so happy with this and it's reasonably priced for how many cups are in the bag. She has not shied away from this food. She LOVES it!
Wonderful food and does wonders for my 4 boxers' coats, joints, and overall health and energy levels. With the current economy though it is far too pricey. At the end of the day it is still just dog food. No reason for 35lbs. to cost over $100. That is just ridiculous.i can buy sirloin for humans cheaper.
Switched from boxer puppy to adult formula at 15 months. My dog liked it but struggled chewing the large kibbles. Switched to a different sensitive stomach dog food at 18 months old. My dog started to vomit the boxer formula right after eating it and was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Noticed less gas issues and loose stools after switching dog food. The boxer formula seems to be a good dog food but not for my boxer.
