When I adopted my senior cat, the shelter advised me to feed him Purina/Felix until he settles before switching his food. As I don't buy Nestl' products for political reasons, I transitioned my cat on to Royal Canin Indoor +7. I initially bought it from Pets at Home but then found a much better deal online here. At first I was happy with it but my cat developed an intolerance to it, aided by dry cat snacks like Whiskas Dentabits/hairball etc. I couldn't work out why my cat had consistently loose stools and after much internet research I got the impression that an entirely wet food diet is much better. I had intended to use up my 3.5kg bag of Indoor +7 and then make the change but then I read somewhere that cats can be intolerant to corn, which features numerous times in the ingredients list for this dry food. I immediately stopped using it as well as all corn based snacks and the difference has been remarkable. I now feed Bozita which works out the same price as Whiskas pouches from the supermarket. My cat's stools are now brilliant. After months of following him into the room to check and clean his bum (he has long fur which accumulates a lot of dingleberries) and even having to pin him down and shave him, this makes such a difference to both of our lives. He no longer drinks water from his bowl at all yet he urinates at least 3 times a day and poops just once, whereas before it was the other way around. He poops way less because he is able to utilise the food properly and does not need to constantly eject all the filler rubbish. Whilst I'm sure this particular type of dry food is good in comparison to some, I will never feed my cat or any future cat dry food again. It's just not worth the convenience or risk.

My 2 Birman cats like it very much. One 13yrs old the other 11yrs old. They don't have meal time but graze at their leisure. Just hope they continue to graze on their RC dental as well once they get used to both being out for them. It's only been a wk since I switched from RC hairball to the mature indoor. They've been on the Dental since I took them on about 8 yrs ago & I don't want to stop that. Hoping once the novelty wears off they will graze on both as they did with the hairball and dental.

Royal Canin FINALLY brought it back BUT...
1 October 2024

I use to buy this all the time for my largest cat but they stopped producing it during COVID. When I called them, I was told that they did not know when production would resume. Fortunately, found something in the interim. Anyway, I happened to think of it and was pleased to be able to order it AND to see that it's actually the same BUT it is TOO DARN EXPENSIVE for the size!!!!

Royal canin is Zelda's favorite

We always use Royal Canin food. Time to time we try different taste of Royal Canin. This time we got the 4kg. We use our Pets at home voucher and discount. She really like the taste of it. Enjoying her meals. My only worry is after using 2 or 3 kg dried food, if she wont fancy again. She always like newly opened food bag. She is very happy. I will try to keep it as fresh as possible to keep her happy and health.
