It "smells bland" and it probably tastes bland for dogs but this is precscription food by design. Overall, my dogs poop have better consistency and he's not constipated when he eats this. His tummy was okay with intermittent bouts of diarrhea which we just thought was because he is a GSD and they are very sensitive.He's nine and a half years old now. After three months of consistent diarrhea, two courses of antibiotics, and two vet visits totalling $350AUD, I finally went to a new vet who said I should try the Royal Canin Gastro. It cleared up his bloating and diarrhea within two days. He's on an 'aggressive weight loss' plan so he has 1 can and about 450 grams of the Gastro kibble a day just for now. It's a bit pricier than the food he was on before, but if it keeps him healthy, that's a very fair trade off (plus no more visits to the vet for runny tummies saves money, too).
Our border collie kelpie x, suffers from epilepsy.. he was undiagnosed for two years, even after many vet trips. He got pancreatitis and then diarrhoea several times and then a long time friend and former vet recommended Royal Canin. It changed his and our life. I tried many diets and this product has transformed our boy into a happy healthy boy.
I love - or at least the dog loves the food.I asked for 2 lots of 24 tins. I got what I ordered. 2 lots came in a small box each and the other 2 came in the big boxes. Much much bigger.This is not good for the Pet Circle profile. Firstly a big waste of trees. Secondly, my boxes could very easily be reused - in other words recycled.Thirdly the boxes are hurled onto my verandah and 2 of the tins were dinted - not badly.I really like the company and the staff and I hope Pet Circle can tackle the recycling.
I swear by this food, and to Pet Circle for its price, when so many overcharge for these cans. My beagle, who is lazy, and had got to 35kgs, has been on this food and dry food, now for a year, has dropped 10-12 kgs, and we know how beagles can eat, but this food may not be cheap in general for everyday families, but it's worth it for the dietary need, to help lose and maintain good weight and health. Pet Circle have always maintained the best in quality food and prices for this wet can food to Gastrointestinal, and the dry food well balanced.
