Best Litter Ever!

So i have tried basically every litter: clay, silica, wood shavings, newspaper, but tofu-based litter is hands-down the best there is! It's made from the leftovers from developing the soy bean that would just go to waste normally. It's compostable and flushable - it just completely disintegrates in the toilet! No messing with plastic bags and taking out the litter! It completely absorbs all the smell and liquid way better than any other litter i tried! I'm so impressed. It leaves just a pleasant, neutral scent. As for all the one-star reviews saying this litter is "too dusty" I don't really understand? Maybe they haven't used any other litter before? Because it's not any dustier than say, clay litter. And I'd 100% rather breathe in natural tofu dust than toxic clay ... MoreSo i have tried basically every litter: clay, silica, wood shavings, newspaper, but tofu-based litter is hands-down the best there is! If you're smelling ammonia, you probably changed the litter too fast and your cat just straight up urinated outside of the box. I thought this was basic cat owner stuff, but maybe there's some cat newbies here? So, absorbs smell, easy to clean up, what's not to love? I would use this litter even if it wasn't perfect, because it will always be worth avoiding the damage clay and silica litter mining practises do to the environment!

It clumps well and the pellets are so large that with my litter rug is doesn't track much, definitely less tracking than clay or Pidan tofu. It's also great in that it has very minimal dust! And the price point is so much better than Pidan, which I also tried and really liked but did not like the price. But I have to agree with other reviewers about the smell. The litter itself has a strong smell, its almost like an artificial watermelon? The smell of the litter itself fades after about a week though. It doesn't bother me a ton, but my main smell complaint is it doesn't mask pee/poop smells very well, and the combination of the waste/watermelony smell is kinda gross. I would recommend this best for people whose litterboxes are not in a common area where you'll smell ... MoreIt clumps well and the pellets are so large that with my litter rug is doesn't track much, definitely less tracking than clay or Pidan tofu. Great clumping/flushing but SMELLS
26 March 2024

I tried this litter since the Michu brand is currently out on chewy. I've tried a variety of material such as corn, cassava, and tofu litter, I've found tofu is my cats favorite! It clumps well and fast, the flushing is good too. Sadly the smell from the litter is very strong and unpleasant for an unscented product, I don't even notice my cats (stinky) poops because the odor from the litter itself is so strong/overpowering which I didn't think was possible lol. If the 'unscented' scent is fixed I'd consider buying again but not for now

I love it and so do the cats!
30 October 2024

Having used clumping granular litter for years, I recently tried this brand. Not only does it flush down the toilet (it took me several weeks using it to brave doing this), it doesn't track around the house like the other did and the cats all seem just fine with it. There was no transition period for them. No more scavenging plastic bags to put the litter in so more environmentally friendly as a bonus. I will never look back!

The best litter EVER
21 June 2023

About a year ago I rescued a tiny kitten on the side of a busy highway. In a whirlwind of a day, we needed to pick up a litter that was kitten-friendly. I grabbed a small bag of Wee Kitty at my local store, didn't give it too much thought. After experiencing how well it clumped, how easy it was to scoop, how well it kept away odors, and that it was flushable (!!!) I gave it a try with my other two cats. They used it without issue, and for the last year it's the only litter we use. Yeah, it's not the cheapest, but the benefits outweigh the cost. No more gritty, heavy clay litter strewn everywhere. No more using half the garbage can every week just to dispose of litter. With 3 cats we have 4 boxes, which means each bag lasts a long, long time. I couldn't be happier ... MoreAbout a year ago I rescued a tiny kitten on the side of a busy highway. In a whirlwind of a day, we needed to pick up a litter that was kitten-friendly. The good: I was given the first 8lb bag and covered litter box with a grate and pad drawer below. Everything was really good. Clumped well and little dust. Pleasant ordor. Trick was to keep the litterbox full so kitty could cover the poo. I scoop at least twice a day and top up litter box as needed. Some pee, dust and broken up clumps fall through to the pad. Change pad every three days. Have one cat. Try to get 3 to 4 weeks out of one bag then start over with clean litterbox and all new litter.Clay litter doesn't come close!!Not so good: 2nd order was a 4pk of 8lb bags. Expensive purchase. Heavy and the built in handle hurts the fingers. The contents have to be emptied into smaller bags. I kept empty 8lb bag but the transfer was hard to do. And the dust was really bad!! Going back to 4pk.

Works so well!!!!
10 September 2024

i got this new cat litter a month ago now and i’m never changing to anything else. It clumps so well and it is so easy to scoop. The clumps don’t disintegrate into smaller pieces when disintegrate which is great. It absorbs smell and pee so well my house never smells and i live in small unit and have three cats !!! They love it and tracking in minimal. I love as well how there’s different options of the litter brand :) The fact that it’s flushable is also such a good option. I don’t do it every time but if one of my cats use the litter once and it’s just one scoop worth i flush it down no stress, no need to waste a bag. Plus it’s affordable and if you go to pet barn and you’re a member it works out so well!

You can address the dustiness
9 January 2022

I am thrilled with this litter. It is wonderful on odors, it makes nice, discrete clumps that are very solid compared to other plant-based clumping litters, and it DOES NOT STICK to the litterbox, so no strong-armed digging to get a clean box, as with clay. Also, because it is 100% plant based, it does not contain volcanic ash (bentonite), which the clay litters use as a clumping agent. I don't want to breathe volcanic ash, and I certainly don't want my babies breathing it and ingesting it during grooming! I drop a star because I do find a lot of dust in Wee Kitty, but that is likely because of the long transportation times from Australia. If we create enough American demand that they can manufacture it here, I'd expect that to largely resolve. However, clay litters ... MoreI am thrilled with this litter. If we create enough American demand that they can manufacture it here, I'd expect that to largely resolve. However, clay litters do the same, creating a cloud of volcanic ash, so I opt for the plant-based dust cloud. What you can do for the dust is spray some mineral oil on the litter every so often. I've also taken to using a classifier, so the dust never gets in the litter box in the first place. I also feed a dry kibble that has a lot of fine particles, and sorting them out using a classifier has been a great time-saver there as well. If you clean your litter box at least daily (You can do it! I do 11 boxes twice daily!), the clumps won't dry out and disintegrate into more powder.

used to be my go to litter--terrible for humid weather/odor
20 August 2024

we're diligent about cleaning our litter box. it gets cleaned 1 to 2 times a day, we have 1 cat. this used to be our go-to litter--our cat prefers pellets and we love how it clumps. but recently, we feel as if the quality has gone down. despite frequent cleaning--this litter REEKS. like truly makes our house smell terrible. additionally, during humid summer weather--the litter soaks up the humidity and gets saturated really quickly. maybe we'll switch back to using this in the winter. but for now--we need a different litter based on smell alone.
