Russell Hobbs 4443BSS 3.5L Slow Cooker

I bought a Russell Hobbs slow cooker a few months ago. Don’t use it ever day, but every now and again there Recipes I like to try. Last night I put a pudding in, which recipe said should take 2 hours on high and it was in for 6hours. Ended up chucking this out. Tonight trying another dish. Again takes 2hours on high. It’s been on since 3:30 and it’s now 7:30. Chicken isn’t even cooked. The actual cooker is hot and very much heated but nothing cooking.....

Always perfect every time

I use this product for a lot of recipes, my favourite is lamb stew. I cut all the vegetables into cubes, buy a good cut of lamb cubes. I then put flour, pepper and salt, just blanch the lamb in a frypan, put all ingredients in the slow cooker, with seasoning. I put the appliance on before I go to bed, and let it cook all night. I wake up to a delicious aroma and lunch is all ready . YUM YUM

Constant Use

I use this all the time. We have multiple meals a week with this slow cooker, and I couldn't be happier with it. Make it all up in the morning, and just turn it on low, and it's done that night when everyone has finished work. I've even mixed up all the ingredients the night before and kept in in the fridge overnight, and then turned it on in the morning on low before heading off to hospital for a day-procedure, and it's ready for eating that night when I'm back home. Just makes the day so much easier with less pressure, having to decide what to cook after an anaesthetic. Tick of approval.

Great product

I can cook so much in this. Having the low & high settings allows me to set it depending on what I have in it. It’s a perfect size for a piece of pork, beef or pumpkin soup. It’s my favourite item in the cupboard. Easy to clean after.

Pros: Very easy to use and clean. Glass lid enables you to see the food. Smallish size good for 1 - 2 people.Cons: Takes quite a bit longer to cook food completely than indicated in the recipes. Beef brisket cooked for 10 hours on low still not fully cooked. Lamb shanks on high for 4 hours could have easily had another 2 hours to be just right.

Not good!

I have brought this slow cooker as we don’t need a large one. I am very disappointed with it on how slow it cooks compared to my large Sunbeam one. Today I am trying to cook a rolled beef in it which isn’t large and I have had it on for 4 hours and it hasn’t even started to cook, I have it on high!

The best alliance I own!

After hearing so many good things about slow cookers, I decided to find a top quality one so I could make delicious slow cooked meals for the family. This one was recommended to me by a friend. As soon as I cooked my first meal, I was in love! It cooks all protein perfectly! I love cooking slow cooked lamb as it's so tender and full of flavour! This slow cooker is amazing quality at a great price point. Can't fault it!

Unexpected failure

Had this for just over a year, maybe used about 7 or 8 times. Put to cooker on last night to cook over night, got up this morning to find a piece of the control panel had cracked off and the control panel not firmly attached anymore. Very disappointing, speaks to poor quality control.
