I haven’t been able to have brown toast without burnt edges! It must be something to do with the “50% Faster Technology”. It just seems to be too hot to achieve a golden “toastiness”.To achieve brown toast, each slice has to have burnt edges scraped off and even then the bread is more singed than toasted.I’ve been making tea and toast for my wife for 40 years. After 2 months of trying to get it right, I’ve had to conclude that this appliance is a dud.

It looked good, had good reviews, the necessary bells and whistles, seemed just what I was looking for. But right from the off, it was toasting the edges, not the centre. So to get the centre browned, the edges would go charred burnt. Consequently returned for another model.

Wasn't wanting to get a fancy pants toaster and have things I just don't need. This turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Works really well, Is fast, fits the slices fully and can get out smaller items. Looks good and all at a reasonable price!
This is the worst toaster I have seen. Bottom of bread is burnt while top is not toasted and middle section is unevenly toasted. The product was so hopeless that I returnee it. This is the last Russell Hobbs product that I will ever buy.
Not impressed with the toaster we bought. Very erratic toasting, sometimes hardly toasting AND tthen almost burnt. Tried all settings. Also very hard to see the settings for the dial. Taking it back tomorrow for refund or exchange for another brand.
It's excellent. Value for money under $40! Looks really stylish with mirror finish stainless steel. Has all the usual settings plus a function that lifts the cooked toast higher in the slot for easier and safer removal. The slots are wider to accommodate thicker slices and crumpets easily.
I was looking for a basic toaster with a high wattage at a reasonable price. This toaster fits the bill and does what I need very well (so far)It has a higher wattage than most or all of it's competitors which means that toast cooks before it dries out, which is a fault of many toasters.It toasts reasonably evenly and cooks crumpets effectively without multiple attempts. Build quality is also commendable
I wasn't happy with several toasters I've had over a few years but this one ticks most boxes. Clean and tidy looking unit, easy to keep clean too. It toasts the way I like it, crusty on the edges and still soft inside the slice. Also, its wide enough to accommodate more uneven slices and 'slice your own pieces'. Highly recommend
I have to say firstly that it looks great aesthetically , especially next to the matching kettle. However, its so darn difficult to get toast right - never had this problem before..You put the dial on 2 and the toast is super lightly toasted. You put it on 2.25 and its overcooked. Heaven help you if you go to 2.5 or god forbid 3 as your bread will look like its from a post apocalyptic wasteland and your home will smell like theres an ash cloud outside.If you can get the setting just right and buy the exact same thickness of bread every time its fine, but if you buy a slightly thinner slice and use the same setting its going to come out looking like its spent a years vacation in the underworld.Normally Russel Hobbs do great stuff, and our last toaster from them was ... MoreI have to say firstly that it looks great aesthetically , especially next to the matching kettle.
