Awful spray paint, runs like you wouldn't believe - DO NOT BUY

If you dare overspray onto itself it will run. Did I mention it runs way too easily? It runs so bad that you can only give a very light coat and I mean so light you barely can see it. So you have to do about 20 coats to get a decent cover. And that would be about 10 cans for my metal table legs. Best spray paint that we've used

We're a huge fan of the Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover range. We've used it successfully for painting on all surfaces, including wood, aluminium, steel and plastics (e.g. drainage PVC).We've just used it to repaint a front door, that was stripped and sanded back to the wood.Brilliant self priming, where the coverage certainly seems to be better than most other paints that we've tried. One issue though is that each coat needs to be thin to avoid rippling as it dries. Also important to follow the drying time instructionsto avoid a similar problem. Hence 4 rather than 5 stars.Price has been steadily increasing. Still value for money but not quite as good as a few years back.On that basis we'll continue to use the paint for the foreseeable future.

Great color/lousy mixing

If the 2X coverage is accurate, I needed it and much more to cover the reddish primer that came out after shaking for up to 5 minutes.

I hate leaving negative reviews but am sorry to say am very disappointed with Rustoleum. I should have listened to Helena’s and Troy’s review. I also got the wrinkle effect (even when the paint was left for 3 days to dry and it was a very light coat). Furthermore some cans started to spray the paint with a roughy gritty texture. I fixed this by changing the nozzle from a can that worked fine (but why should one have to do this?)The paint didn’t wrinkle when applying 2nd and 3rd coat while the paint is still tacky (within 30 minutes of spraying). Maybe this paint is not designed to dry and be sprayed… and this should be made clear in the instructions (which it is not as it clearly states that paint can dry before applying a finishing coat).I’ve had way better ... MoreI hate leaving negative reviews but am sorry to say am very disappointed with Rustoleum. Never wrinkled when re spraying the next day. Should have gone with this paint instead. As for coverage, hard to say wether it covers better than other paints. It did seem like it did cover good, but again, waisted a full cannon respraying the wrinkled paint.

I painted the kitchen cabinets with this paint. One can of it even after I shook it up really well like I always do when I use spray paint, that one can edit it started spraying out paint but then it started spraying like a powder. You could tell the difference on the door! I did not know what to do, but I let it dry and was able to just dust the powder off. Really strange. I do have to say it was not just the Walmart paint because I had purchased two cans of the very same paint from Lowe’s, and one of the other cans I used on the same day did the same thing! I wondered if it was because it had primer added and the primer would not mix well in those two can for some reason? I think I use six cans total, but I did a lot of cabinet doors. The two doors that had the paint on it that turned to powder, looked a little odd, even after I resprayed them with a different can. I’m wondering if there are more cans out there like this. I’ve had really good luck with the Rustoleum brand paint, and even this 2x ultra cover, so the bad 2 cans I got must have been a fluke!

DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC - or anything at all!The instructions specify plastic as one type of surface you can use this on.BAD idea!FIRST LAYER (the total destruction of the object you are painting comes with the second layer, but read this completely):It sort of works. SORT OF, and only from binocular distances! The "satin" effect is not a smooth dull lacquer formula, as it should be. It consists of tiny speckles of high gloss lacquer, which is mixed into the paint in a small amount, so it does not cover the whole surface. They were from the first layer, which this paint attacked with its own solvents in the new layer! My model was ruined! There is no way to remove the paint and redo the work, because you need aggressive solvents that will also attack your plastic object, be it an expensive model, some kitchen gizmo, furniture, or whatever. So, do NOT use this paint on plastic, or really anything at all, because it attacks its own first layer, if you spray a second layer, which you need.

Rust oleum should be ashamed to claim this paint bonds to plastic. Ditto that it gives double coverage. After sanding, cleaning and checking the weather app for humidity and temperature I thought I was set. 2 coats gave minimal patchy cover so I did 4 coats (following the instructions) with disappointing effect. Began chipping immediately it was dry, with very gentle handling, and is so bad I’m having to peel the remaining paint and start again with a different brand.I notice the instructions warn DO NOT STRIKE CAN. With the level of frustration this paint has caused I can see why such a warning is necessary. Waste of money and time.

White in an Aerosol Can

Yup. You got it. This stuff is a very pleasant shade of white. Wait a minute. Did he say shade of white? Yes, he did. Strangely, paint manufacturers produce %26 market white paint in several shades. True Story. Instead of white, many shades pushed as white are cream or bone, which is really not white. Rather it is closer to severely light padtel beige. Well, this stuff is very white, Dwight. That's right. Very. The cans have been absolute crap the last decade, though. No longer lasting ten or twenty years (10, 20) on a shelf, the cans rot %26 leak in as little as only two or three years. Ask how I know. The paint, however, is great. Likes it right much I does. Wants to see super gloss versions at these prices.

im forever painting things...clean it up , paint it up so looks new. Ive used other brands and nothing comes close to the Rustoleum 2X line of paints. I used the oil rubbed bronze metallic (quarts) to spray my 07 chevy express van. Spraying over red oxide primer and looks amazing . Im certainly a beginner, but this paint goes down so well. Nobody can believe it only cost $ 60 bux to prime and paint it! I would love to see Rustoleum begin offering more of their colors in quart size, only a very limited selection now. Great product to use on my equipment too! Lets get more colors!
