Junk.First one lasted less than 3 hours of work chipping up some floor tiles.Second one died after drilling 4 x 12mm holes in a concrete slab.Complete waste of $.... unless you need to drill some holes in a bar of soap.

Very powerful hammer drill - almost too powerful. Sometimes knocks the whole brick loose. It drills through those almost invincible old bricks like it's wood. The only difference between the $1000ish Makita is the weight. It is quite heavy, but worth it for the price saving. Also works fantastic as a jack hammer

Burnt out brushes and caught fire on 3rd use. Bunnings wouldn't refund full amount

I bought one of these about 4 months ago, I drilled about 12 holes, then used the hammer function for about 10 minutes about a month later. Last week I used it to drill 4 more holes, after 2 it began smoking, then caught on fire. The brushes were completely gone.I returned the drill to bunnings, they agreed that it was bad but told me not to expect much more from ryobi. They offered only $50 as a return as I couldn't prove how much I paid for it.Does not seem in line with Australian consumer law, I'm very upset. To be clear, I'm a home user, not tradie.

Great overall, awesome value.

Firstly, if you need to remove concrete anywhere, this is 1000x times better than doing it with hammer and chizzel. Can't believe how well this works at breaking concrete/hard stuff.Unit itself is very nice, only issue was with the side handle. Within 1 hour of use, my first one broke. (The side handle, machine was fine)Took it back to bunnings, got it exchanged for a new one, and been babying the side handle since. Not broken again. All in all great, just needs a tougher side handle.

Great tool for brick wall demolishing
11 August 2022

Great tool for cleaning bricks, demolishing walls, putting in dynabolts. Comes with extra bushes. I suggest buying more grease as small starter tube. Instructions say not to overfill it though.

Little for size, big on performance

Exceeded expectations. Chiseled a channel through a 6 inch concrete path (1.2m wide) in a couple of hours. Drilled through 7 inch concrete foundation effortlessly with a separately purchased 22mm drill bit. Was a bit nervous having never used a tool like this but used all the appropriate safety gear and it worked a treat. Just watch the you tube clips on how to look after and use these tools. The manual that comes with it just has cartoon like pictures which are not that helpful.

Powerful and decent quality
1 February 2022

I purchased this drill for chiselling out bricks in a carport wall. I removed about 1600 bricks with the included 25 mm chisel bit. Each brick took around 5 seconds to remove once I got into a rhythm. It would have been impossible to do by hand and it was absolutely worth the money for that job alone. The chisel bit is still in good condition. The drill is more powerful than I expected, and by my research has significantly more impact energy than similar drills for this price. It's easy to handle and fairly light. The cable is good quality durable silicone, not PVC. The chuck seems very solid too, I've put a lot of sideways force on the chuck when the chisel bit gets stuck and the bit still runs true. I've also drilled some holes with it and it seems to do a good ... MoreI purchased this drill for chiselling out bricks in a carport wall. The switches for impact and rotation are a bit stiff but they work okay.Overall, a great value tool from Ryobi - probably not the highest quality mechanically but absolutely worth it for small jobs.

WOW! Good example of the right tool for the job!
2 August 2021

I just purchased this from Bunnings as I needed to drill many holes into concrete. I had been using a hammer drill but had lots to do and reviews on line suggested this was the way to go. Like others have said with the right drill bit this tool is fantastic. Sensational at drilling into concrete. It reduced work time drilling holes by a significant amount...saved me hours! Great tool!

When only 240v will do.
29 August 2022

Brilliant. We have used it so many times. Comes with everything you need. We were going to get the battery version but sometimes you need to do heavy duty stuff that only 240v will do.We used it to put brackets onto our concrete entry way and outdoor room so that we could add a timber deck. We've used it to put holes in our bricks for a glass pool fence, fence posts and even our doorbell. We'll be using it next to break up some concrete that spilled out a bit when our path was being layed, so we can get nice and close with our garden edging.

Worth every dollar you spend.
31 October 2021

I have to spend my time writing the review of this tool because it is worth it. I have been struggling drilling through my garage's brick wall. I wasted heaps of my time (15mins per hole) and drill bit because the drill I have been using is although it has hammer action but it is not powerful enough. This tool cut through the brick like I'm drilling into a piece of wood.I should have bought this much much longer before.Side note... It is heavy but I will not complain.
