I have a tonne of ryobi one gear but this is one tool I don't like. Basically a hairdryer. $100 bucks and couldn't melt glue I needed it to on a floor. Went back and bought a $20 Ozito gun that was ten times better. Just not a serious heat gun. Biggest ryobi one dissapointment so far

Bought this a few weeks ago to replace a corded heat gun. Yes it does work, but unless you must have cordless then use a corded. It's slow and only works on small areas at a time.Returned mine and bought a Ryobi corded heat gun. Much happier now

Have been rocking a corded heat gun for some time and decided to finally get the battery version for my one+ eco-system, first impressions are that it's surprisingly compact, and nice and light, however doesn't have a very long run time, so unless you're doing a very small job, you wont be able to keep the weight down with a 2ah battery and you'll have to use a larger 5ah or similar battery, increasing the weight but maximising the limited run time, alternately have a few smaller batteries charged up ready to go, and just plan the job accordingly. Cord free heat gunning is still the main benefit and takeaway here! only 4 stars for value as it seems high on the pricey side considering how affordable a corded version is.
Useless. Slightly worse than a hairdryer. I would not recommend this heat gun if you wanted it to well, heat something. No where near powerful enough to strip paint let along heat shrink. I’m not too sure how it can even be classified a heat gun. I’d say more of battery chewing mildly warm gun. Go with a plug in instead.
10 years and still working like the first day i first bought my ryobi tools, my drills my saw the list goes on!.....so of course when my need for a heat gun presented itself the choice was easy peezy lime squeezy! Go that gorgeous green reliability that has to be seen! Every tool , every time and batterys that still match the first tool i ever bought. What a winning formula!
I have been stealing my wife’s craft heat gun for jobs in the garage. This cordless Ryobi heat gun is excellent. Gets hot very quickly and is very portable. Have heat shrinked with it and used it to soften hoses for connecting. Works a treat.
I purchased this to quicken up the drying time of small plastering patches before I paint. I use a corded hair dryer normally which works, this thing did notFan = Little to no power at all.Heat - Like others say, hairdryer is better.I have a heap of Ryobi tools that I am happy with, this one is going back.
I use a heat gun a lot at work, so I thought it would be handy having a cordless one, so I bought this product. Heat only travels about 10cm from end. Probably not as warm as a hair dryer. I can literally hold it 5cm from my hand and won’t get burnt. Should not be marketed as a heat gun. Less powerful than a hair dryer. This product serves no purpose whatsoever.
I have been a professional builder for many years, so I know about good & bad tools. I was a Makita man but these days I look no further than Ryobi. Great tools for a very reasonable price that's capped with a fantastic 6 year warranty. I have had one tool that died on me but that was not a problem, the people at Bunnings simply checked my purchase invoice and replaced the tool without hassle. Yes - I will be buying more Ryobi tools as I need them.
