Don’t wait to make the change . This mower is fantastic, and mows much better than my 4stroke, it even catches the grass along the wall and fence. Plenty of power to cut long grass.So light to push . Catcher hold lots and easy to empty

Just picked up a new scarifier - cut our lawn down before starting was hoping that would make it easirt to go. This is on the highest setting (furthest from the floor). Took me 45 minutes to travel 5 meters. Would walk 30cm and it cuts out. Takes 5 minutes of clicking to try get it to start again. When it does start, expect it to move a further 30cmBattery on full charge.It did pick up well, obviously there is some thatch picking up, and can see results. But this would take me days to do just the council strip. I ended up sunburnt, frustrated, and little to show for progress. Electric has a way go for a heavy duty task like this one. Petrol is still the way to go for scarifiers.

I was quite reluctant to buy this but my husband said it’s just what we need to get the thatch out of the lawn, it was quite bad so we bought one. I was very surprised to see how much we got off the lawn there was more than enough we fill 2 green waste bins. You can use it on the lawn as and when you need to as we have been over ours again this week and got more off it not as much as the first timeAlways going to be a handy tool. I’m sure our lawn will improve from this treatment.Recommended

Unfortunately we were unable to raise or lower our 1 year old lawnmower. I did contact Ryobi regarding this but didn’t get a response in a reasonable amount of time so went back to the retailer & they replaced the mower without a problem. Loved the mower though in spite of the raise & lower problem. Even happier with the exchange & super happy with the facility to register products on line especially the requirement to upload the purchase receipt!!!! I might have had difficulty finding it otherwise!
Bought this via a special order which was received into my local store within 3 days! Customer service was fantastic and the sales staff matched the pricing of the Scarifier tool with 36V 4Ah battery and charger to that of the kit due to the kit not being available in my store.Lightweight, easy to use & great results. I had an existing 5Ah battery and bought a new 4Ah battery with the machine. Highly suggest the 2 batteries if you have a bigger area. I managed to keep swapping the batteries out without much delay in progress.I did my from lawn on the 2nd setting without the catcher bag raking as I went, then went over with my Ryobi 36V lawnmower to pick up the remaining grass.My back lawn was in a lot worse condition than the front so I started on the second ... The results on the back were a lot more dramatic than the front, however the results should speak for themselves in a few weeks!Fantastic bit of equipment and if you are into keeping your lawns on point then this is the go. So happy I bit the bullet and invested!
I'm glad I read the other reviews before buying this tool. When I found the catcher filling too rapidly and ever too frequently I followed the other reviewers and left the catcher off. Raking up the material was a far better way to go. The blades are not sharp and buffalo grass strands tend to wind themselves around the blade mechanism and stop the machine working efficiently and sometimes stop it completely. This is also easy fixed by regularly checking the blades and unwiding any such buffalo grass strands. Don't let any of this put you off the machine as they really are only minor problems and are far outweighed by the outstanding job the unit does.
The first problem I had with this product was assembling it. It was not possible to screw in the fastener attaching the lower part of the handle to the body. So took it back to Bunnings and got the whole thing replaced after they were also not able to get it working.The second one was easy enough to assemble. So charged up the battery and went to work on the front nature strip. It was easy to use and it quickly did a terrific job cutting out all the thatching in the lawn which would have been a long hard slog to do manually. As others have recommended I didn't bother with the catcher and raked up the mess afterwards.There was not much charge left in the battery after that which was OK because I wanted to just do the nature strip first and leave it for a few ... I was a bit sceptical before buying the Ryobi Scarifier as I didn't think it would be as good as the more expensive petrol models, however after doing both front & back lawns I was very impressed with the results.The only negative comment would be the catcher is useless as it fills almost straight away but it was not hard to rake into piles & empty into bin. After scarifying I mowed lawns & picked up all the remaining clippings.
This is a truly great product if you love your lawn. I hummed and haaahd about spending this much on a product that I'll only use a few times a year but considering how much i want the nicest greenest lush lawn on the street, this was essential as is the edger line trimmer and mower and blower. They all go hand in hand and my lawn is standing out above all the neighbours and the kids love it. The scarifier is a small but strong unit and really gets all the thatch up so the lawn can breathe and all the nutrients and light can get in aswell as water. I highly rate this machine and in my oppinion even though it will be used only seasonally it is worth the money.
I used it to completely remove old grass ready for new seed and it worked very well. Lot's of dirt picked up because I had it set at the lowest setting. The machine is powerful enough, but I did creep up on the lowest setting due to the thickness of the old dead grass layer.Recomended order if you already have one or more 36v batteries. Took about 6 days to arrive in store.One 5 amp hour battery lasted quite a while and would probably be adeqaute for most suburban lawns if you are just doing a maintenance scarification rather than really digging deep into the dirt like I was.
