I simply love this tool. It looked good in the product video I viewed before I bought it and it is so much better in real life. It cuts cleanly and effortlessly and easily matches the advertised number of cuts on a single battery charge. The tool comes into its own when you have to lop a few branches from a tree. Ever cut a large branch and then spent ages cutting off all the side branches with a manual lopper to fit them into the recycling? It takes ages and is tiring when you have to do 40 or 50 cuts. With this tool the only hard work is lifting the cut branches into green waste bin.Did I mention I love this tool?

This Ryobi Bypass Lopper has done a lot of work since purchased and has performed beautifully. I was surprised by how much life was still in the battery after a few hours work. Not having to spread handles as required on my old lopper makes this Lopper far more versatile and less tiring. It has good balance and isn’t very heavy. No need to bend down to cut up lopped branches for chipping and sharing the 18V battery with the blower and reciprocating pruning saw makes the skin really good value for money. Get your hands on one of these at Bunnings. You won’t be disappointed.

I bought this yesterday ,put a 2.5 amp battery on and started pruning. I made probably a couple of hundred cuts and still had half battery power. Cuts varied from 30 mm down to 2 mm ,all handled with ease. I loved being able to lopp off some higher branches that I hadn't been able to reach previously. I also made a bunch of cuts at lower levels and under bushes that saved my 70 year old back.Very pleased with the purchase. Cleanup was a breeze and a spray of wd40 before storing.

I bought this a week ago and so far I am very happy with its functionality. As you would expect with a mechanical cutting mechanism it opens and closes fairly slowly, so it is probably not suitable for smaller twigs where secateurs would be quicker. But it is brilliant for larger branches that would normally need a saw to cut. I lso find it usefull to cut out tree roots that are popping up that are not wanted
I got this on advice from Bunnings and it is a fabulous tool to add to the collection I used it last weekend to lop some trees and tidy up a few areas. What a great job it does. I would highly recommend this item. Keep it away from toes when on the ground or your fingers because you will lose them if you don’t easy to use not too heavy and I used a 2.5 battery to keep the weight down and it performed without a hitch.
This bypass lopper is amazing! It's so easy to use and chews through branches easily. I may have got slightly carried away and chopped more than I should have, but it was such fun! I used it with a 2.5ah battery to keep the weight down and it lasted for ages. This is my new favourite tool!
Long story short, first one failed, returned to Bunnings no problems. Had paper receipt.Replacement worked OK for a while then died. (Cable retracted too far after a jam then failed to open all the way up again). Second time round, misplaced receipt thought it was on power pass, now stuck with an under warranty product without proof of purchase. I would not suggest this product as there has been 2 failures over 2 years. All branches were on spring growth of fruit trees so nothing too hard. Bunnings were super helpful trying to locate the product on my power pass (over 45min) Ryobi gave me the sorry, cant help. Over 6k worth of Ryobi tools and this is the only one I have had multiple problems with.
Got the lopper to “hard prune” nearly 100m of 3m high 30yr old viburnum hedges that had grown out of control. Am half way through and so far very happy with the weight (not too heavy), balance, reach, lopping cycle time, and battery use. A proper safety cover for the business end when storing it would be a bonus. The 6 year warranty has given me the confidence to not hold back with the branches and got me over the line with the purchase. A worthwhile addition to the other Ryobi gear in the tool shed.
These are the best garden accessory that anyone could have . I have a large property with many trees that need trimming constantly . This tool enables me to reach further without the risk of overbalancing and falling off the ladder. It is also a blessing for my wrists as the lopper does all the hard work. I have many Ryobi tools now and will keep collecting them as I need them .
The first one was faulty - but replaced under warranty. A really useful tool for pruning. Yes - hand pruners do the same - but this does the job effortlessly and also much quicker and with a neater cut to the plant. It allows to get into tight spots that conventional pruners can't get to because of the handles.
