Bought this a few months ago on sale, didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been pleasantly surprised! since purchasing I’ve refurbished several crates into shelves, made a table and a couple other minor projects. Happy to report I’ve not had to use my corded orbital at all, but of course still needed my finishing sander for corner work. Overall, great product that lives up to the standard I’ve come to expect from the ryobi one+ line.

I was very impressed with this too and it's well worth the price. Most won't believe me but I find this works better than my corded Makita orbit sander. It's relatively quiet and most of the fine dust is collected so it's less of a cleanup. Connected to a vacuum is even better. Batteries last surprisingly long but it's a good idea to have a couple extra batteries on the charger for big sanding jobs requiring multiple grits. Like other hook and loop sanders, changing the paper is quick and easy. Highly recommended.

I bought this online last night— was supposed to come with FREE battery— it did not— I took it back to the store— they were about to give me the battery— but no charger— Tell me how Ryobi can sell a sander without battery and charger. Absolutely absurd and for a senior who hates to use a Computor to even think they would sell a cordless tool by the piece.I got a refund.

I've used a 2ah battery on it and it lasts about 15 minutes and a hp one+ 9ah battery that lasts around 67.5 minutes. I wanted to test the best strongest battery from ryobi's line to get a feel of the advantages and I can only say that it's overated by a lot. Here's how I'd break down the battery HP = health points One+ = 10% more power and ah = 1ah/7.5 minutes run time. You can multiply that to get how much juice you have. Now this orbital sanders pros and cons.Pros: Cheap, Powerful, filter easy to remove, lightweight, sturdy, sucks dust average, good grip.Cons: No control, no variable speed, orbital sander random spin hardly moves and tends to stop easily, dust bin cloth hard to dunk out contents.I have to give it only a fair rating of two stars because the ... Little things like these add up but the worse is that I feel like I'm holding back a beast on my hands thats rampaging with no control and not following any orders. If you just want a cheap orbital sander this works but I don't recommend this.
Ryobi makes tools that last and are very durable powered by a chargeable 18v battery. Their Orbit Sander meets that criteria. It fits in the palm of your hand, lightweight, well balanced and of course easy to use. If you bought the tool only, youll receive the dust bag & sander paper to use right away out of the box. Just insert your battery & go.
Out of the box and ready to use - comes with three ( 5 inch ) sanding dics of different grits. This sander is very compact : light weight with a sturdy build, easy and comfortable to use - performed beyond my expectations. I like the lock on switch which keeps the machine running without having to hold down a button, the dust bag attachment does a great job at keeping your working area clean as it extracts just about all the sanding dust. Would recommend to use the 4.0 amp battery a longer run time. This is a must have tool if you already have the Ryobi charger and batteries as its the most convenient tool and sells for a very reasonable price. I have used my new sander a couple times now and am very pleased with its performance. I have 6 other palm sanders of various brands and types and the ryobi is as good as any of the them, and it is cordless, which is a game changer! Not having a cord in the way when trying to get into awkward spots is priceless. Also, for doing touch up in the yard or outside the house it saves so much time not dragginbgf a cord around. It seems to be quality construction.
I thought it was a good price until I got home and started using it. The battery that came with it is very poor quality. It only lasts 20 minutes. I am constantly having to stop working while the battery charges. Didn't realize Ryobi and Rigid were made by the same company
I bought this because I was really happy with a corded random orbital sander I borrowed to sand some fence panels. It struggled on the same job the other sander sailed through - even to the point of the disc not spinning with very little pressure (coarse sandpaper and wood) - even the weight of the unit and the battery seemed to be a problem. Seems to have only about 1/3 the power of corded units.Battery lasted about as long as claimed.
I’m so happy I bought this sander. I can craft at night because the noise is very minimal. I need more quiet tools that I can use at night. I usually craft at night because it’s when I get free time away from my kids. Before Ryobi I was always worried about making neighbors mad for the late night noise. With Ryobi I have had zero noise complaints! I would love the whisper line tools!
